About this Guide
I made a series of video walkthroughs showing where each collectible is, including Slender pages. One nice thing about the game is that in terms of collectibles, none are missable in the sense that you would have to start a new game to get them. There are some levels that have jumps that seem to be one-way only and I haven't figured out how to go backwards across. On those sections though, you can just travel back to the beginning of the level and get anything you missed. The game is very forgiving in that sense.

In addition, I figured out a way to get so much distance with my Viper Coil jumps that I can now easily make it across the Titan Rock jump in one try. Before I figured it out, I died so many times. So, I made a tutorial explaining the technique.

In this guide you can always click on any picture to view a larger version with more details.

Any feedback is welcome, particularly if you find an error. Just leave a comment at the end in the Comments section and I'll check it out.
Gameplay Options
There are 2 gameplay options I found particularly useful. I'm mentioning them because most games don't have them, so you might not think to check for them:
  • Brightness
Many places in the game are quite dark. So, I was very happy to find the developers included an option to adjust the brightness so you can see in the dark better.
  • Sprint Inversion
This is great if you want to save your finger from always having to hold down the shift key to run. With this set to "on", you now will always run until you press shift -- then you start to walk. Very useful.
To change these options, from the main menu choose Options:

Here are the options for Brightness and Sprint Inversion:

Music
In addition, if you want the music turned off, you can turn the volume down to the lowest it will go, but the next time you load the game, even with the music slider all the way down, the music still plays. To fix this, just move the slider up a bit, then back down to zero. Unfortunately, you have to do this every time you load the game.
Viper Coil Tutorial
The Viper Coil is obtained on Titan Rock. It's fairly easy to use most of the time, but there is one jump that many people have problems with: the huge chasm you have to cross about halfway through Titan Rock. If you want to watch that section, it's at the very beginning of the "Titan Rock - Part II" video.

In addition, there is one crate also on Titan Rock that requires a really high jump. This tutorial shows you how to get both maximum distance and maximum height from your jumps.

Changing Direction
One thing that might not be immediately obvious is that you can change the direction of your swing if you hold onto the crane and start using the directional controls of your keyboard or controller to change the swinging direction. Keep moving back and forth in the desired direction until you have enough momentum to reach your goal.

This might be useful in the Proving Grounds area, where there are so many cranes in so many different directions from each other.
Return Travel to Completed Areas
In many areas, not all collectibles can be gathered until later on in the game when you have better suit upgrades. Then you can travel back and collect them. I've made separate videos showing the locations of those items. Those videos have have "Revisited" in the titles and appear in this guide after the last stage of the game, "Astra Facility".
Wendigo Lake

You can skip to specific sections in this video if you want:
    Total Items Gained
  • L.E.A.F suit
  • 4 energy capacitors
  • 3 medallions
  • 7 acorns
Susurrus Valley

Golden Acorns
The easiest way to get acorns is to give life to dead trees. When given life, there is a chance they will drop golden acorns. Dead trees right out front of acorns doors are especially likely to drop acorns. When I finished one game, I had close to a 1,000 acorns from all the dead trees I'd brought back to life.

You can skip to specific sections in this video if you want:
    Total Items Gained
  • Icarus Boost suit upgrade
  • 1 energy canister
  • 7 energy capacitors
  • 9 medallions
  • 16 acorns
    Total Items Required
  • 18 acorns
Trivia
In the game, the valley is spelled two different ways: "Susurrus" and "Sussurus"

On the map, it's spelled with two S's and one R

But, when you first enter the valley, it's spelled with one S two R's
Titan Rock - Part II

Note: If you are having trouble getting across the huge jump in the beginning, there is a "Viper Coil Tutorial" section here in this guide near the beginning. It explains an easy way to maximize jumps with the Viper Coil.

You can skip to specific sections in this video if you want:
    Total Items Gained
  • 2 energy capacitors
  • 7 medallions
  • 6 acorns
Astra Facility
There are no collectibles in the Astra Facility.
Traveling back to previous sections of the game
When you're first playing through an area, not all collectibles can be reached with the gear you have at the time. But once you've finished Smoke Lake, you'll have enough L.E.A.F. suit upgrades to reach all the remaining items.

If you've been following this guide, then there are still items remaining in:
  • Wendigo Lake
  • Susurrus Valley
  • Titan Rock
  • Camp Henday
  • Smoke Lake
I've made walkthrough videos for these return trips and they all have "Revisited" in the title, as you will see in the next section "Wendigo Lake Revisited".

To travel back to previous areas, select "Continue" with your game:

Then select the area you wish to travel to:

When you reenter an area, many things will reappear, such as animals and trees, unpacified Amrita Swarms and Wendigos. This can be very helpful in attaining Achievements that require a certain number of things being done. For example, if you need to pacify a few more Amrita Swarms for an Achievement, you can just go back to a level that has some. Or, if you don't like killing trees or animals, you can go to the Susurrian Valley and kill as many as needed, then just travel back there and they will all be alive again.

Susurrian Pyramid
At this point, the Susurrian Pyramid in the Smoke Lake area has 1 door left requiring 40 medallions to open. Inside is the Icarus Boost Damper, which allows you to do mid-air jumps without using any amrita/energy. If you want to get this, whenever you get 40 medallions, go get it...it's easy to get since it's at the very beginning of Smoke Lake. I personally didn't ever really need it, but if you explore a lot of hard to reach places on the map, it can come in very handy.
Wendigo Lake Revisited

Developer Console
Valley has a developer console available during gameplay that can give players access to special debugging commands. Normally, you will never need to use the console. But, if you want to explore some of it, you can. Here's how:

Accessing the Console
The console has some scrollable menus and if you want to use your mouse to scroll through these, you first need to pause the game by pressing the ESC key.

Then you can activate the console by pressing a certain key on your keyboard. Apparently, your keyboard or keyboard layout (I'm not sure which) determines which key you need to press. On my keyboard, the "grave accent / tilde" key opens the console:

However, I've seen people say they had to press the $ key on their keyboard, and another place I saw someone say to press the ö key. See which one works for you.

To Exit the Console
Press the key you used to start the console (the accent/tilde key for me, or maybe the $ or ö keys for you)

Visible and Invisible Console
Normally for me, when I enter the console, a developer console overlay comes up over the game screen. It looks like this:

Sometimes though the overlay does not show up. However, it seems that even when the console is not visible, it is still there and you can still type in commands and they will work even though you can't see what you're typing. If your console is invisible, there is one way I've found to tell if you're in it or not: if you attempt to unpause the game and nothing happens, then you are in the console and can use commands.

However, if you don't want to bother with an invisible console, I've found that if I quit the game and start again, sometimes the console will be visible again.

Commands
If you type the command help, a list of commands will be displayed, along with information about how to use them (click on the picture for a full size view)

However, this is not the full list of commands available. Using the typeahead feature of the command line, you can see a full list of commands:

Unfortunately, descriptions of what each does is not given, nor is syntax.

Some Commands
Here are some observations I've made about how the console and some of the commands work:
  • help
This lists the commands shown above

  • togglegui
"gui" stands for "graphical user interface" and refers to the on-screen character information icons. The description given says you use "giverelics" to toggle the gui, but that's a typo. When used, togglegui turns the gui turns off, which is useful for taking full screen pictures. However, using togglegui again does not immediately bring the gui information back -- you have to exit the console, then press ESC for the gui information to reappear. Odd, but it works.

  • showachievements
Very useful for tracking your progress towards full achievements. When you use this command, the following information is shown in the console window:

However, I found it very hard to read this list on the console when the gui was showing. Therefore, I always hide the gui with togglegui (see above) before using showachievements.

Each time you use showachievements, the data displayed is only the data at that moment and will not change as you play. In order to see the most current data, you need to use showachievements again. Some totals, such as giving life to a tree, will show updated counts each time you use showachievements. However, some totals will only update once you travel to a different area/level of the game. For example, if you use showachievements while in Wendigo Lake, the number of steps taken will accurately show steps taken up to that point. But, if you take a few more steps and use showachievements again, you won't see a change in the totals. You must travel to another level, such as Susurrus Valley, and use showachievements again. Only then will total steps taken show an accurate count.

For more information about achievements and their relationship to the data shown, see the Achievements section of this guide.

  • toggledebug
This enables you to use commands to do all kinds of things, but be aware that if you use this, achievements and saving your game are disabled until you restart your game. Once you enable debug and start using game changing commands, a number of things in the game do not work correctly. Many times, though, using more commands can provide workarounds. For example, if you use setenergy 75, you are given 75 full energy capacitors, but they work oddly and don't always refill properly. However, using setenergy 75 again will fill them back up.

  • listscenes
Lists all scene index numbers that you can load using the load command:

  • load
This command is used with the listscenes index numbers to load a particular point of the game. For example, if you say load 4, it will take you to the beginning of Wendigo Lake by the canoe:
    • load 0 - got me stuck and had to quit the game
    • load 4 - Wendigo Lake
    • load 5 - Sussurus Valley
    • load 6 - Titan Rock
    • load 7 - Soma Facility
    • load 8 - Soma Reactor Core
    • load 9 - Camp Henday
    • load 10 - Proving Grounds
    • load 11 - Smoke Lake
    • load 12 - Astra Facility
    • load 15 - takes you to an infinite void where you just fall maybe forever, but you go faster and faster straight down (you can see your speed by using the playerstats command)

If you use the load command to skip ahead in the game, some LEAF suit upgrades you normally would have acquired in previous levels are automatically added to your suit. Also, if you skip ahead to later sections, storyline events from sections you skipped will default to have taken place. For example, if you skip past the Soma Reactor Core section, the game will still behave as if you have removed the Lifeseed from the Reactor.

  • moveto
This command moves you to a particular point in that level. I couldn't find a list of locations anywhere, so I started trying different things. I finally found that using numbers worked. For each of the game areas, I tried moveto with numbers -1, 0, and then 1 through 10. However, I found that most game areas only had one or two moveto locations and many had none. Here is a list of useful ones I found (if none are listed for an area, then there are none):
    • Scene 5 - Sussurus Valley
4 - located in the industrial ruins
    • Scene 8 - Soma Reactor Core
3 - in front of Lifeseed
    • Scene 9 - Camp Henday
      1 - L.E.A.F. suit storage area

  • teleport
Very similar to moveto, except there are many more locations to teleport to in each level. Each location has a number, so using teleport 35 will teleport you to location 35 within that level. Some levels have hundreds of locations.

I expected location 1 to be at the beginning of the level and each successive number to be a bit further along. However, that is not the case--as far as I could tell, there is no obvious relationship between the index number and where that location is in the level.

  • setenergy
This gives the player a certain number of full energy capacitors. For example, setenergy 75 gives you 75 capacitors full of amrita.
Once you have completed the Astra Facility (and thus the main campaign) the console is usually no longer available, although I have had it work several times.

@VooDoo Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed the game and guide so much. I often had to make choices about how to present the path to 100% completion in such a way that it'd be as easy to explain and to follow as possible. So, there probably are many things I didn't mention that are just as valid as you point out. It's a neat idea to have recorded here. I just couldn't or didn't figure it out at the time.

You can get the last Energy Capacitor from Camp Henday (Revisited) during your first play-through of the chapter.

Go to the top floor of the tall building that you would normally jump from to break through the rubble roof section to progress, and instead of jumping down, jump onto the roof of this building; you can double jump to land on the little extruding section running along the wall above you, and then double jump again to get on the roof. From there, go to the highest corner and look out to the water to find the island, it should line up mostly with the Astra Facility looming in the distance. Then turn back around and run clockwise to generate speed on the downhill sections, quickly looping around the center tower and double jump off. If you generated enough speed it's an easy jump to the island! The death warp from the water should bring you right back to the base of the building you jumped off, by the rubble roof section.

Incredible guide, thank you for all your work!

Remains a great guide 7 years later.

Thank you so much for these videos. They were easy to follow along on one monitor and play the game on another.

I don't think I would have been able to get all the achievements without this guide. Like the energy capacitor in Smoke Lake that is hidden on an island that I would have rage quit long before finding that myself.

Much thank yous.
