Engraved Walls

Description
(Last update: 07/26/2021)

Engrave walls like in Dwarf Fortress!

Current Features:
Engraved walls count as art, and have all the benefits associated with that.
Pawn's Artistic ability affects their quality.
Their quality affects their beauty.
They get randomly generated descriptions, and if they're impressive enough, can even warrant having art made of their construction.
Engravings of engravings!

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

=====

Compatibility:

"Engraved Walls" is compatible with mods that add new natural stones as long as they incorporate 1.0's smoothedThing field.

The creator of Faux Rock Walls reached out and it should now be compatible with this mod, but any major changes might result in minor incompatibilities until their files can be updated.

There is no explicit compatibility with embrasures, and I have no plans on explicitly allowing for an engraved wall to have an embrasure applied to it, or to engrave a wall with an embrasure.
=====

Credits:

The b18 version of this mod was heavily inspired by Rainbeau Flambe (dburgdorf)'s "Smooth Stone Walls" mod.
With the inclusion of smoothed walls in vanilla 1.0, I have rewritten the mod from the ground up for maximum stability and maximum compatibility.

The mod utilizes Pardeike's "Harmony Patch Library."

Yeah, that... That's just plain weird. A save/restart seems to have fixed it.

If it's also happening to regular smooth walls it's most likely not something my mod is doing. I don't touch those.

@Karthas: Yes, Orassans adds Neo-Concrete as 'Stony' stuff.

Having said that, after I made this report, this behavior - which I've only just now observed, despite using this mod for awihle - I noticed the same behavior... On a perfectly genuine smoothed, un-engraved, totally-natural rock wall!

I have no idea what in the heck is going on now.

Engraved walls should have "canBuildNonEdificesUnder" set properly to allow conduits under them, and I haven't heard this reported before. Do you have any mods adding new stone types or that mess with power conduits?
ShadowDragon8685 Sep 29, 2021 @ 4:00pm
I issued orders to install power conduits in engraved natural walls, only to find that they're demolishing the walls! Is this intended behavior?!

I have a minor suggestion: Would it be possible for an engrave order, issued on a non-smooth wall, to automatically smooth and then engrave that wall?
