Cursed Skulls

Description
Adds a bunch of skull items to the game (22 currently), each which alters the run in one positive and one negative way. Good luck!


Skull Effects:

Thunder - Enemies move and attack faster but have reduced health.

Sacrifice - No health drops spawn, health is restored to max after each boss kill.

Purity - Damage boost, tears are cleared of any status effects.

Bloody - Money is replaced with health, all shops require health to purchase items.

Enigma - All items randomized on room clear (No breakfasting, mod compatible).

Glory - All enemies are champions, 50% chance to drop an item on each.

Spirit - Everything moves faster at lower health.

Spite - All enemies explode on death.

Kin - Only one enemy type spawns per room.

Foolish - Starting room becomes a boss room, drops another item.

Mass - All shots gain homing, friendly and enemy.

Sanity - Use items only take 1 pip of energy to use, no longer recharge.

Violent - Deal massively increased damage, take double.

Primal - All active items are absorbed for stat upgrades.

Defiant - Bosses gain 50% max hp and drop an extra item on death.

Plated - 50% chance to negate incoming damage, massive damage down.

Forceful - Large damage up, have to tap fire button for each shot fired. Brimstone and the like will fire after their charge reaches maximum.

Final - Replaces all but 1 heart of health with holy mantle charges, 2 per health removed.

Burden - Massive damage down, gain 10 random familiars.

Consuming - Lose max hp on level start, gain damage.

Hysteric - Double all items picked up after, remove all items picked up before.

Beta - All stats up, damage lowers as health does.

allright, thanks for the update. the sort of workaround i found for now is just downloading a different mod that makes your tear rate fixed at 1, and even though it's not ideal, it works for now. other than that the mod works well from what i've seen, i enjoyed it in my runs :)

yeah its probably some bug with rounding in stat api that i have to fix - im working on updates to stat api slowly so itll be patched eventually sorry for the error for now

for some reason, when i have this mod installed, my firerate is locked at an abysmally slow 100000, even in a brand new run with none of the skulls. i would really want to try this mod, but i can't really with the abysmally slow fire rate on all characters. If it's any help, when i have this mod on, the statsapi 2.0 mod keeps throwing up a bunch of errors in the debug console, spamming it. if you want i can post what the error message is.

Feel free to check out Apocrypha if you like any of the ideas here tho - its a wip modpack im making with some peeps. Gonna release a big update in the future whenever we get the sprites done and stuff lol so stay tuned i suppose

It also gives the player's shot magnet effect :P
Thunder and spirit are similar but have one difference - spirit only affect movement speed, thunder makes enemies' animations play faster and thus some of their states update faster - meaning faster attacks for some enemies.

The only reason they are "skulls" is a reference to another game that partially inspired this mod, where there are different run modifiers you can add that are all difficulty skulls. They are also unrelated to skulls and are just damage mods, and figuring that i wanted to make lots of items fast I didn't want to spend a lot of time spriting 20+ new items - so I just went with that theme and did some quick color swaps that are somewhat alright as far as sprites go.
