This is the best melee system ever created. Devsies have no clue about it of course xD Mouse with Quake Live acceleration makes it ultra immersive !
Imagine, if Devsies were aware of such mechanics and made proper tutorial ... on 2016 release ....

Benefits
-ability to shorten rise/strike sequence by whipping your mouse,
-repositioning damage arch of attacks - starts from enemy hitbox instead of empty area around,
-decise about the type of attack vertical/horizontal etc.
-parry is not triggered,
-increased damage !

This method does not shorten the attack animation. It is not even animatin but weapon model pull/push sequence calculated in physics.
You can accelerate weapon model even further by moving your mouse in the same direction as weapon is moving.
There are two phases of both attack and power attack:
-rising the weapon ,while click or holding "attack" button - can be done faster by up or sideway mouse sweep up to +/- 20%,
-weapon falling down in the reverse direction - can be done faster by down or "to the center screen" mouse sweep up to +/- 20%,
The Slower the weapon is , the bigger must be delay after releasing the Power Attack
Then you will deny Genestealer parry and move damage area further
So side Purgatory Sword slash from right to left will start dealing dmg from the point of 1st enemy and go further to the left
kind of AoE attack with no AoE weapon ^^
With full speed LClaws you can hit Scyther strain twice, when he does "Appear and Leap" Strike
Anyway one round with LClaws is enough to make your arm hurt xD
cuz it is :
Left 90deg.->LeftClawPress/Release ->90deg right to center
Right 90deg.->RightClawPress/Release->90deg left to center
very fast
It must be felt ... it is hard to explain
You can Shield Bash Scythe Strain so hard , that it fall to the ground . Not stagger as always.

Further explanation
This is GORN based on Unity engine. Link is showing , how melee weapon model's physics are affected with camera rotation. Like the weapon is made from rubber.

In Spacehulk : Deathwing melee system is considered clunky, unnatural, unresponsive and dull.
In my opinion Deathwing melee is the same like in GORN but only background/mesh is affected with "rubber physics". Weapon model itself look like big , heavy slab of steel.

Standard playstyle of Assault Terminator wpn+shield combo.
Hold block -> somethings hit your shield-> release block attack -> repeat entire game... -_-


On presented playtrough, I have NO Ultimate Adorment + Power Setting - 1.5 dmg but 0.7 speed

When player release his attack button and move mouse the same time and around the same direction as sword slash , it will shorten the animation of PowerAttack
Additionally , Stealers doesn't expect beeing hit , sooo ...... Nids not parry at all
or only shorten the sequence and doesn't trigger enemy parry (player camera is not centered at enemy hitbox).
Speed upgrade makes it hard to perform
You need to Release Attack and sweep you mouse just after weapon starts falling on enemy
It feels like Power Attack connects much faster and gets AoE -wide directional arch , while it has no explosion radius like Power Fist ,Mace of Absolution or Thunder Hammer
Attack type depends on your model movement. So, when you stepping back left , move camera to the right up - you perform vertical strike from above your head
Like weapon model is postioned in the game world with physics included.
Works more or less with every melee weapon ingame.
It is not related with weapons itself.
It is UE4 physics related. The same way as Terminator charging aginst standing mid size Genestealer will knockdown him, while charging Terminator aginst charging mid size Genestealer will kill the Nid.

I am corious , if such behaviour affects damage dealt....
There is no easy way to track dmg values.

It is Quake Live mouse acceleration on system level ( not ingame mouse input filthers)
With this soft, your mouse speeds up , depending on traverse of your mouse
when patien and slow -low sense
when frantic move - high sense 180 deg.
Purgatory Sword feels like big bar of iron on mouse movement

I think , "Power Hit 1.5x" is damage multiplier added to Power Attack.
Power Attack is every weapon attack triggered by holding the Attack Button, untill weapon model stops rising.
It could also be every kind of attack other than single click. I have no passion to count the damage diffirences. There is no real-time damage counter and one hit Stealer -> let yourself die-> look endsceen is retarded.

I'm ashamed to admit, I'm in this game 2000 hours, but I still do not know what means "Power Hit".
Do you know, what does blessing setting "Power Hit bonus 1.5x" mean?

You are partially right. Speed is not the main factor. but allignment with weapon move.
Set Headbobbing to max - helps to notice and predict the attack type.
Take the slowest weapon with slowest configuration possible. It will be the eastiest way to mark the diffirence between each step of attack sequence.
Don't even think about this royal mechanic, if you are server guest. For server Host only !... or as I do, Special Missions.

e.g. Power Fist with Power 1.5/Speed 0.7 as Librarian (shock wave, when shiet hits the fan)
Press and Hold Attack along with mouse move to the left -> Power Hit rady-> Release Attack-> Fist goes forward, you move camera back to center.
When you stop move on enemy- Termie will perform Falcon Punch

Yes, I think so. I just use povhat to get 1:1 mouse feel and muscle memory between games.
