[144hz] Workaround for High Refresh Rate Monitors
By ☢FarCry☢
Alright, there is something broken in the game engine. The game works well at 144hz and above, but not everybody can get HFR out of the box. For some reason, the game locks itself at 60, 48, 36, or 20hz. Until we get a patch, here is a workaround for you.

Please note: Even with a GTX1080 on board you will get frame rate drops down to 116 FPS. Tested at 2560x1440 resolution.

High Refresh Rate workaround
STEP 1
Run your game, open the settings and choose "Windowed Fullscreen"
The game should now run at 48hz. Leave the settings menu! That's important!
Note: This guide won't work for "Fullscreen Mode"

STEP 2
Use "ALT+TAB" to get on your desktop.
Open the Nvidia control panel or your default monitor settings.
Change the refresh rate to 60hz and go back to the game.

STEP 3
The game should now run at 20hz.
Open the settings and it should jump up to 60hz.
Now leave the settings again! That's important!

STEP 4
Use "ALT+TAB" to get on your desktop.
Open the Nvidia control panel or your default monitor settings.
Change the refresh rate to 144hz and go back to the game.

STEP 5
Enjoy the full experience.
Note: Don't open the settings anymore, or the game will lock itself at 48hz again!

You would think that it would, but the game's owned by Activision :/

Have fun. I don't understand, why this issue was never resolved...

I am absolutely thrilled that this works! I was not sure why this game was uncooperative with windowed fullscreen, but at least there's a way to finagle it into working correctly! For reference, my monitor doesn't have a 60hz option (it only goes as low as 120hz), but swapping between 240hz and 120hz seemed to work well enough for me

Still works like a charm, my game was locked to 48hz and I would've just played in fullscreen as that seems to bump it up to 60hz but it introduced really bad screen tearing even with Vsync enabled. Where as this method doesn't have any screen tearing issues.

This worked for me, thanks! Had like 8 fps or something on my i9 9900K+2070RTX and 144hz screen.
