Make Followers Dualwield

Description
A small mod to enable dualwielding for most of the followers. If given a second weapon, they will dualwield upon entering combat.

Mages will prefer their spells first and will not go into melee until they are out of mana. Followers such as Lydia have a shield in their default inventory set so they will never dual wield. You can work around it by opening the console, clicking on the NPC and typing "removeallitems", as stated though it will remove all items on the NPC, so don't leave anything on them.

This mod should work with custom followers too, provided they are using one of the premade combat styles. I have tested followers such Benor, Ghorbash and Aela and they all duelwield. If you have problems, please leave a comment.

He's using a dualwield combat style, it's from another mod, but he just won't use his other sword.

It depends on if he is using a custom combat style or not. You can try and see how it goes.

Does this mod work for Vath Firehall as well?

Longbow remover for Lydia, Follower trap saftey, Lydia out please and Better stealth AI for followers. I'm wondering if it isn't the fact that I rarely use the vanilla weapons. I pretty much build all the weapons I use in Max and update Bob's Armory with them for others to use.

Can you tell me what mods are you using that affects followers?
Rokalm  [author] Nov 28, 2013 @ 2:47pm
Then you can also check yourself that vanilla skyrim doesn't have dual wield on followers as default and only a few select followers can do it. My Skyrim is the last version and I see they don't. My mod is not the only mod which offers dual wielding as well, so I don't know. You must be running a hidden version of Skyrim.

I can even show you screenshots or videos to prove this, but what's the point really.

Nah, the only thing I have that alters followers regarding equipment is a remover for bows so I don't have to worry about the use of a default longbow over a customized bow. The behavior mods are relegated to making all followers having Light Step and not running off to fight while sneaking. I go through every mod I want to install thoroughly before even testing them. This includes checking what has been edited in the CK, along with correcting erroneous meshes and texture sizes/file formats.

I said I checked the game files as well after that. If you have creation kit, only load skyrim vanilla files and check combat styles.

Scroll down and see there is a flag called "Allow Dual Wielding". You must alter that value to make a follower dual wield. In vanilla skyrim, only a very few followers have that checked. Doesn't it sound absurd to you that I would make a mod for something that exists? You are running a mod which enables followers to dual wield and you are not aware of it, my guess is it is bundled with some other mod.
