Quest Orders
Bởi TeddyChynski
Many quests seem to conflict with eachother if done in the wrong order. To prevent bugs, you should do certain quests before others. This guide will describe the recommended order of quests.

There shouldn't be any spoilers in this guide.

The Order
Here is the order, top being the first, bottom being the last.
  • Sanguine
The Countess of Leyawiin is vulnerable to death after a quest in the Thieves Guild. She must be present or else the quest is failed.
  • Thieves Guild
  • Sins of the Father
After Sins of the Father, a certain someone involved in the Thieves Guild may refuse to talk to you, depending on what choice you make. Your best bet is to do this after the Thieves Guild questline.
  • Mages Guild
Someone involved in a Thieves Guild quest is a member of the Mages Guild, making it difficult to do the Thieves Guild quest without getting expelled from the Mages Guild after joining. Don't even join the Mages Guild without doing the Thieves Guild questline first.
  • The Siren's Deception
  • Dagon Shrine
Having hostile NPCs in cities that can attack civilians is never a good thing. Hold off on this quest if you can, but it's not the end of the world if you already did it so long as you kill the agents without civilian casualty.

It doesn't matter what quests you do before, after, or in-between this list. Just make sure that if you plan on doing these quests you do them in this order.

Please tell me if there's any other conflicting questlines that I should know of.

This is only really for a Thieves Guild Playthrough. Otherwise, just ignore this unless if using mods for workarounds. Though... you can just open the console, click on the countess or other necessary person, and type "resurrect" without the "s in there.

I only played the Thieves Guild Route once. Skyrim's is better imo, though there isn't much thieving in it. lol

Archmage and Listener are my main Routes now. Plus Arena Champion (A nod to the first game.), and being the Neo-Sheogorath. I rarely do the Fighters Guild or the Knights of the Nine stuff. (KotN gives me trouble due to the game's AI.)

none of these failed for me so I guess the UOP did its job

I have the unoficial oblivion patch, should I still follow this guide? or is it irrelevant now?

I believe there are a few quests related to the oblivion crisis that become locked if you do not complete before finishing the main questline.

Are there any mods that could fix this? I started oblivion recently and I'm shaking in my boots about this.

You may not want to complete the Dark Brotherhood quest "Next of Kin" while the Thieves' Guild quest "Ahdarji's Heirloom" is active. Killing three of the four targets will incur the blood price for the Thieves' Guild, despite none of them being affiliated with the quest. It's a bug I unfortunately experienced firsthand during my first playthrough of the game. I thought it was my own error until I looked it up on UESP. In the end, I just decided to pay the blood price because I couldn't complete "Ahdarji's Heirloom" due to a different bug and still wanted to continue the Dark Brotherhood quests.

Mazoga the Orc and Sanguine.

If you do Sanguine's quest before Mazoga's quest, she'll come to your aid when you flee from the guards in the Leyawiin palace and she'll likely die.
