After Install, Game Doesn't Start [Fix]

Problem I had when I fist installed game. This worked for me. It's pretty simple.

Problem:

Game doesn't start.
"Guys, when i open Shift 2 Unleashed, it opens up an activation, i press nexrt, then it says activation successful. But then NOTHING HAPPENS. I tried on steam and Origin. Plzz help!"

Fix:

1.) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Need For Speed Shift 2
2.) Run "SHIFT2U" as administrator
3.) Run SHIFT2U by clicking on file and not by clicking the game in Steam.

Done. Hope this helps. Any other solutions you know please put in comments. Thanks.

I bought shift 2 on steam 2011, I downloaded the game again to play but I can't because it says that the activation key has been exceded. I contacted ea and they couldn't help. I'm trying to contact steam and I can't seam to get to a place where I can send a message to see if this can be fixed. The game is old but I should still be able to play it. If not give me a refund. I use steam because of the games and no restrictions on downloads on my pc.
I need a activation code that works.

Needed to set the Shift2U exe to run as admin.. Steam Shortcut working fine after. :-) thanks for the steer boleggedbigfoot :-)
