How to become a killing machine

Step 1) get 5 skill points.
Step 2) put those skill points into the AoE tree.

Step 3) pick ANY skills with area of effect. Greatsword arc and Spin. Aassasin swords with wide arc. Grenade launchers. Flamers. Any Psyker AoE skill. Grenades. Anything works.
Step 4) Go faceroll the highest difficulty.

Gameplay style
- Always target big groups of enemies.
- Try to pull singled out elites together into groups, ideally into horde-type enemies (or pull the horde onto the elites), that will allow you to oneshot them.
- If you're getting overwhelmed by ranged, back away a little, that will interrupt their shooting and they will pursue, grouping up + giving you an opening to re-engage.

As melee, use movement skills. Shield charge, Axe execution, Hammer jump, Assasin jumps and charges, even dodges.
If ranged, you can usually just target the group and fire.

So how does it work?
The skill should give you +1% to dmg, for each monster hit by your AoE. If there are 20 monsters in the target area, you should get +20% dmg. Currently, you get +2000% or even more.

Here's an example without OD, on a level 11 crusader, on an Armored enemy. You see the two hits barely hurt him. The damage dealt with the spin was 144, but since the enemy has ARMORED, we hit with the spin for 288.

And next example is after using a Mind Reset and putting points back into OD. You can see that one spin takes 3/4 of his health instantly, and the DoT from the axe finishes him.

The hit number said 3576, but since the enemy has ARMORED, the damage was reduced by 50%. So the damage dealt was actually 7152. The bleeding DoT tick for 715 confirms my math.

This was recorded on a campaign mission to find Klosterheim. The difficulty setting was RED, and it said -39% damage dealt.

skill is deadly to psyker combined with psalm codes. If enemy has warp or heat reflect you will kill your self at same time from exponential damage. :steamhappy:

Thanks
Meanwhile the game has changed a lot in the past 2 years, again. Maybe I should write another guide :)

F the haters, I appreciate the effort, even if I never was able to utilize it. Writing any guide is a pain in the ass, keeping a guide up to date through years of updates is a full time job. Thanks OP.

Yeah, guides do become outdated when the described game receives a huge overhaul AFTER it was released and sold as a finished product.

At least my guide is labelled as patched. Perhaps your time would be better spent elsewhere, on the other guides that present incorrect information. Or perhaps you should write your own guide, provide current information that the other guides don't offer. Either way, enjoy the holidays :)

Well, I can't say I'd agree with you, but to each his own. IMO, "old stuff" belongs in museums, history books and dusty shelves crammed with stuff you only occasionally look at.

To me, something like the Guides section should be like a living document, kept current as information changes - because when it isn't? Do you realise just how little *correct* information is hanging around this "so called Guides" section? Huge chunks of it are removed from the game, changed into something completely different, or worst of all - have only had their numbers changed, so the information *looks* correct, but is actually completely misleading.

Still, it's your guide. Do as you choose. I'd at least prefer if it was a little clearer that this is no longer possible. But hey. I get to put a downvote on it, as *I* choose! :Rubber_Duck:

You should ask a different question. Why do humans keep old stuff around, stuff that isn't relevant anymore? Answers to that question shall answer your question too :)
In my opinion, this serves as a good reminder to what the game once was. Maybe for entertainment purposes too.

Errr, not to complain, but why does this guide still exist if it's been patched out of relevance? Surely removal is better than leaving it here, taking up space and potentially confusing newbies?

Patched a long time ago.

Does OD works as written here or has it been patched?
