Top 5 Worst Map Designs

There are a lot of maps in Team Fortress 2. While yes, most maps will have some minor problems, others just take the cake. Some just have AWFUL gameplay which makes the game unenjoyable for all involved. Here's 5 maps that have poor map designs. This is my opinion, so don't get mad if your favourite map is on here.

#5 Hightower
Huge sightlines for snipers, map is way too tall and open and also has a huge death-pit on the left of the map so pyros can airblast you in there. Great. I think one of the main reasons I don't like this map is because it's really hard to cap at the end where you need to push the bomb all the way up. I mean, their spawn is literally outside the capping point, and with the spawn balconies, snipers can pop shots at you or a soldier can rocket jump up.

And even if there's none of that, you'll have the poor, innocent, friendlies who will threaten to kick you if you dare try to cap. These are the reasons I don't play this map like at all.
#4 Suijin
Don't get me wrong, this map looks amazing, maybe I would call it one of the most beautiful maps in the game. However, it plays horribly. The point is way to spammy; demos and soldiers at the top, pyros at the bottom. Also spy behind you.

Getting any form of a coordinated attack on the map is really difficult; it's just way too spammable. Also sniper sightlines cover the entire map. And finally, whats the point of that right section where the waterfall is? I mean, it's not even a proper flank route, since the wall is too high for you to jump over.


Also snipers in trees. Enough said.
#3 Mountainlab
First 30 seconds will be BLU getting spawn-raped by a demoman and his kritzkrieg medic buddy. Even if you manage to push through past all that, it takes like a full minute to cap the first point, meaning it is incredibly easy for RED team to defend.
Second point has a huge sniper sightline, but isn't too hard to cap; a decent push should do it.

Fuck last point. The point is literally right next to RED spawn, so good luck capping. Expect at least two engineers to be on point, with the whole of RED there too. Your team requires an engineer because the walk from spawn to last is too long. Also last is really spammable and the cherry on top is that there's a death-pit surrounding the point.
#2 2Fort
2 Fort is really just a terrible ctf map. Well most are, but 2Fort especially. Firstly the sniper balcony; expect at least two snipers on either team's balcony. This can be really annoying, but, you know, its bearable.

There really only is one way to get to the intelligence and that is through the courtyard. However, if even one sentry is guarding there, it's practically impossible. And you might say, well, there's the hatch thing, however, only soldiers and demos can get up there (scout maybe if triple jump), but otherwise, no.
Now there is the option of the long-ass sewers, but again, you still need to go through the courtyard to get to the intel; you're doing nothing but taking a longer, more useless route, congratulations.



Now I know I could have talked about this on other maps, but I'll mention it here. The spawns are easy to spawn-camp. Nothing better than not getting out of spawn. Well actually, one spawn does have two exits, but it seems the other one is never used, and too bad if you're stuck in the other spawn room.

And even if you manage to get all the way to the fucking intel room, there will probably be an engineer camping there. Great.

#1 Dustbowl
It really is a shame that 2 of the original maps (Dustbowl and 2Fort) are on this list. I do have to admit though... I kinda love this map...

However, there is no denying it; this map is a chokefest.

As you probably know, this map is spilt into three stages, the first stage is alright, but it still has some issues with it. Firstly, it's WAY to sentry friendly. The tight and small hut around the point is easy to defend and spam, and last is almost the same except it's a bit more open.
The main issue with second stage is the fucking BLU spawn. It's terrible! From the spawn, there's two different exits BLU can take to get out, and that's where the spawn-wall should be. I mean yeah it's still spammable and small, but it's better than having the entire of red team rushing up to BLU's spawn-door and getting camped for 5 minutes.

If you manage to push out of that clusterfuck, last is even worse! This point is easy to defend, sometimes too easy to cap (takes like three seconds) and will have at least one sentry defending the point, if not more.


Last Stage. This is the pinochle of chokefests. The BLU spawn is bit small, but it'll pass. The main issue is the chokes. Well firstly, after first is capped, a 20 minute timer is added. Why? Because it's so hard to push through! Choke after choke after choke. Even if you manage to push through all of these chokes, you still have sentry paradise to deal with on last! Also it's right next to BLU spawn, has a long sniper sight-line, so yeah.


Just for an idea of how long Dustbowl matchs can go for, my highest score on a casual match was played there; 157 points and nearly 100 kills:

Conclusion
We all like bad things, and maps is no exception. I mean, I love Dustbowl and Dustbowl is a terrible map. Anyways, please like and subscribe if you want more shitty lists like these ones. Okay bye now.

EDIT: Some people are thick-headed, so I'll say it again; this is MY opinion. I don't care if you disagree or you agree. Some... 'person'... pointed out that most of these problems can be fixed by an uber. Well you know, they probably can. But you can apply that to any fucking map. And besides, chances are there isn't a medic on your team anyway.
