Introduction

Note: There have been look-a-like copycat guides popping up. If it's not labeled by THN (The Horror Network), it's NOT one of mine and therefore not up to the quality that I aim to provide.

Welcome to the Vampyr achievement guide.

Do NOT play on Story Mode. I will void many achievements.

First thing is first; if you're planning on getting a full 100%, you will need two playthroughs. A pacifist run, and a run where you kill everyone. I highly suggest doing a pacifist run as your first playthrough, as you will end up unlocking all, or most, of the side-quests, as well as get to sit back and enjoy the game and the lore. I would also suggest leaving the collectible achievements for your second, or "kill everyone" run. That way you can enjoy the game without first using a guide.

Be aware that there IS a "point of no return" in this game. It is before the end of Chapter 6. Therefore, I would consider doing anything else that you want to do at the very beginning of this chapter. Whether or not you choose to go ahead and do the collectibles at this point, gather weapons, etc. There is no free roam at the end of the game.

Pacifist
Merciful release
Let Clay live during your first meeting with him
Early on in the game, as part of a tutorial, you will come across the NPC named Clay Cox. You will be taught how to Mesmerize your victims. When you take him to the designated location, choose to let him go.

Hippocratic oath
Heal 10 citizens
It's important to note that for a pacifist run, you should keep the health up of all the NPCs in order to keep the health of each district high. If districts fall to 50% or below, they turn hostile and all of the citizens in that area die, voiding Not even once.

As citizens fall ill, you will see a yellow spore on their portrait in the citizen menu; sicknesses can range from level 1-3, and the higher the level the more expensive the cure. Talk to everyone that you can to unlock their health status in the menu, some of them will be sick right off the hop. If you want to speed the process up, sleep for a few nights in a row. Simply view their ailments, craft the proper medication, and deliver it to them.

Note that the cure to headache, migraine, and neuralgia are bought from Dorothy Crane in Whitechapel.

Not even once
Finish the game without killing any citizens
To obtain this achievement, you must not Embrace any non-hostile NPC; aka, the people you can converse with. You can go around slaughtering the ferals, thieves, and other attackable creatures as much as you'd like. Just never use your Mesmerize ability. There are a few story related exceptions and decisions. If you're unsure of how to progress, review the following:

Clay in Chapter 1 - Let him live.
Dorothi in Chapter 2 - Let her live. If she mutates into a monster, kill Monster Dorothi.
Sean in Chapter 3 - You can either turn him into a vampire or let him live. If you let him live, he will then mutate into a monster once you return to the Night Shelter a few days later. Be warned that both killing him and letting him mutate will turn the district's health status to "hostile", whereas turning him into a vampire has less troublesome consequences.
Mary Boss Fight in Chapter 3 - Do not consume the man that is dying in the graveyard. It is okay to consume Mary, however.
Aloysisus in Chapter 5 - Turn him into a Vampire, sacrifice XP to do so.
McCullum in Chapter 5 - Let him go, do not turn him into a Vampire.
Dr. Swansea in Chapter 5 - Turn him into a Vampire, sacrifice XP to do so.

Kill Everyone
Just take a bite
Embrace Clay during your first meeting with him
Early on in the game, as part of a tutorial, you will come across the NPC named Clay Cox. You will be taught how to Mesmerize your victims. When you take him to the designated location, choose to Embrace him.

Anarchy in the UK
Turn a district to hostile status
Best performed in tandem with Lore Keeper, since you will need to kill many citizens for each collectible. Going for the aforementioned achievement alone will cause you to go into hostile status in each district. You just need to keep slaughtering and maiming actual citizens to keep the status that way, and make the district irrecoverable.

London's burning
Turn all districts to hostile status
There are a total of 4 districts in Vampyr; The Docks, Prembroke Hospital, Whitechaple, and West End. The earliest opportunity to turn all districts hostile is in Chapter 4, when you reach the final district.

The fastest and easiest method of doing this is to sleep for several nights in a row, and allow the citizens to build up level 3 illnesses. The illnesses and their levels are indicated by yellow spores (1-3) on the character's portrait in the citizen menu. Leave it this way, and then kill 2-4 of the citizens in the district. Once a district has fallen below 50% in the status menu, it is considered hostile. After that, all of the people in the district die and monsters take over.

Lore keeper
Gather all collectibles
Important: Do NOT read Usher Talltree diary. There are a total of 12 one-hand melee weapons, 8 two-handed melee weapons, 11 ranged weapons, 13 off-hand weapons, and 30 collectibles. The good folks over at Power Pyx have already crafted amazing text and video guides. For the text version, head over here[www.powerpyx.com]. Otherwise, follow the video guide for more information.

Bloody roots
Find the recollection of Paulus Aurelianus
This is perhaps the most convoluted achievement in Vampyr, especially if you don't know what you're doing. The recollection of Paulus Aurelianus is simply a sword; one that's hidden beneath The Temple Church. To even attempt this, please note that you have to have already collected the 30 collectibles mentioned above. If you want a text guide, Power Pyx have hooked us up here[www.powerpyx.com]. Otherwise, here's a video.

Misc.
Pest control
Eat 10 rats
Rats are found almost everywhere in Vampyr, but they are most prevalent near safehouses. Use your vampire/shadow vision to spot their red outlines, and feast on them until the achievement pops.

Work in progress
Upgrade a weapon
Refer to Solid metal gear for more information.

Solid metal gear
Upgrade a weapon to level 5
Each weapon that you find can be upgraded a total of 5 times each by using workbenches at any safehouse, or your office. These upgrades require crafting materials, which are randomly dropped by enemies and found by scavenging containers. Additionally, they can be purchased from various trading merchants. If you haven't had good luck in finding the mats yourself, they can be bought from vendors in the West End district once you reach Chapter 4.

That's better
Upgrade a weapon with a module
Each upgrade level has a choice of two, or sometimes three, module options. Simply pick one of these options after upgrading the weapon to the next level. Of course, these upgrades require crafting materials, but not very many.

Unlife is strange
Save this poor plant with water
This achievement refers to the dying plant in your office at the Prembroke Hospital. Refer to the video guide for a more detailed explanation.

My 4th braille note is glitched and the notbook that i wasnt supposed to read... I didnt read it and still i dont have the collectible

2023 here, I got achievements for finding all weapons... w/o finding them all.

I'm not sure what caused this. I made a back up in Chapter 6 before following the blood trail and then started killing everyone for the "London's burning" trophy. I got achievements melee, off hand and range and later when I was still embracing characters, I kept receiving their individual revolvers, stakes. I even checked my inventory, I had about 6-8 of each.

I can only guess, the game counted the amount of times I upgraded those weapons I found earlier and included them to the overall number. ¯_(ツ)_¯

I just finished my first playthrough, and got Lore Keeper without any of the weapon collectable achievements, so I guess they're independent. It popped the moment I found the last of the written collectables. While I doubt this will matter to anyone chasing achievements, thought I'd mention it for posterity.

Update:
- Added Anarchy in the UK
- Added information regarding "Lore Keeper"
- Added information regarding "Not Even Once"

Great guide but miss vital informations :
1) You can do everything in "one playthrough", backup save before Clay and at the end of chapter 6 (point of no return). This way I have done pacifist and then collectibles + hostile district.
2) Sean needs to be turn into vampire as it makes the citizens not get sick or dead in the docks. Only 500xp.
3) DO NOT READ Usher Talltree diary. (side quest Pandora's box) as it void the last collectible.
4) Anarchy in the UK achievement is missing.

Story Mode, and Not Even Once: It says when you select the mode that you can't get that achievement. Unsure if you can unlock achievements at all in Story Mode
The Horror Network  [author] Aug 25, 2020 @ 4:57pm
I had no idea a Story Mode was added. It was, as far as I can recall, not available at launch. I'll make a note here, thank you and sorry for the wasted time.

Did everything I thought was necessary for Not Even Once, still didn't get it, made it all harder for no reason.
Though someone on Reddit suggested it's because I made it easier in another way, that achievement may be blocked by playing on Story Mode. I did play on Story Mode, otherwise I did everything right. Perhaps that's why it's missing from all the old guides, Story Mode didn't exist in the beginning?

"if you completed the game on Story Mode, that achievement is unavailable. the game must be completed on the other difficulty settings for this achievement."

To the user two comments below mine, Yes. The Game simply cares about if you take it upon yourself to Embrace your targets. If they have turned, they are no longer able to be Embraced. For comparison, I stupidly went in and killed Dyson, Sean and the Paxton Sisters after they turned. Usher Talltree later confirmed to me that I did NOT take another citizen's life since Mary, and the Ending I received further confirmed it from Reid's lips himself.

On the one hand, this will make contending with the achievement easier, knowing their deaths alone do not void the achievement. On the other, I also managed to avoid dipping into the Hostile status for The Docks through what was likely sheer luck when the huge disease wave hit, and I do not know if a hostile district would void the achievement.
