If you wanted to adapt this to actually be minmaxed, swap the Mother's Mask in over the Father's, and replace the Zwei/Bass Cannon with something better like the Claymore. Then you'll really stomp in PVP.
I'd know, I've done this on the original and remaster many times.
Yes, you used to be able to dead angle shields, and they patched it out. But this wasn't exclusive to GiantDad. Many, many weapons could dead angle shields, and much better weapons could do it with no risk involved. The Zweihander was always extremely easy to parry, and while the it was great in PVE, it suffered in PVP from the extremely long windup times on your attacks.
Not to mention the Father's Mask has never ever been optimal. If you take the points it saves you of END and put them in VIT, it was worse than the Mother's Mask. Instead of the Father's Mask, you should level up END 6 more times and then equip the Mother's Mask, saving you 2 Soul Levels over GiantDad.
