Exterior Airlock Control Console

Add a secondary airlock control console outside of the airlock itself.

Why do you need to do this?

Setting up an extra airlock console will allow you to cycle the airlock from the outside if there's ever a low air pressure concern. This way you won't risk losing your hard won atmosphere!

This is pretty simple and uses all stock game mechanics.

First, set up your airlock as one does. Make sure to put an APC between your base network and the airlock components. Treat airlocks like roach motels. Wires go in but they never come out.

Second, Add your two consoles and select all the normal components. Make sure to label your interior and exterior doors. Always choose the EXTERIOR door first!

Third, Select the "Make Slave" option on the console inside of the airlock. This will link the exterior console to the interior one. Whatever you do in the airlock will translate to the console outside of it and vice versa. See picture below.


D, remove the configuration disk from the console and you're all done! Enjoy your new foolproof airlock control system!

Or... you can use the keypad. Although the console way is nicer, i suppose.

how do i add 2 slaves ? If 1 player is inside and the over player is outside the player inside is stuck because he has no console to cylce the AL any ideas? i checkt to manage it with logics but sems not to work.

How do you link them? Mine shows error, and when I choose Console on the main one, the game crashes. I want the outside ones to be slave!

If you found yourself without extra consoles, another trick is, if you have the power line to the airlock in reach, to cut the power and restore it and that will stop the pressurization process in the same fashion as pressing the stop button, that way you also wont loose the atmo in case of cycling problems.

This also work if you are stuck inside an airlock without power, just start cutting cables until the locks are released and then you can use the crowbar.

Nice i had no idea there is a consol slave function, will try it in the near future.
