COMRADES: LAZY MELEE ENDGAME BUILD

A guide i wrote to those who want to minimize the grind but still have a decent character capable of soloing Comrades.
It will result in roughly 60% of optimal build, but still capable enough to beat the game with relative ease, while saving you many hours of grind because optimal build is ridiculously over powered and also quite time consuming.

Overview of the Lazy Build

Stats achieved with this build are sufficient to solo all content quite easily, with exception of "Final Round" that might take a few tries to learn the fight well enough, but that could be said for every decent build. Main goal of this build is to find the optimal materials that are very easy to obtain, that way minimizing the grind.

Requirements:
1. All vendors unlocked
2. Dismantling unlocked
3. 30% crafting boost:



Main focus of this build is Dragon Whisker with 2 Penetrator X abilities and Dancing Dagger for it's superior dance-buff.
Other two weapons can be replaced by many others without very significant impact, especially if you have Curaga in one of the two, which increases your survivability quite noticeably.

Dragon Whisker (main weapon)

Obtained by trading Corsesca in Cauthess for:
3 Crooked Helixhorn - Break from Spiracorns in "Too Tough to Tame" mission.
3 Sharp Sythe - Break from Killer Wasp in "The Terrible Treant" mission.

Step by step craft:

Corsesca:
1 Behemoths tear (keep Penetrator X for the rest of the craft)
1 Sinister Sharpscale
1 Lucian Carp Rowscales
2 Curved Hollowhorn

Harpoon:
2 Vitality Gemstones
3 Curved Hollowhorn

Dragon Whisker:
2 Meteorites
12 Curved Hollowhorn
1 Strength Shard
1 Sharp Bone (optional)
1 Strength Gemstone


Total materials used:
1 Behemoth Tear (only time consuming material in the whole build but worth it in the long run, rare horn break from "Double Deadeyes" boss)
17 Curved Hollowhorns (35700gil from garrison vendor)
1 Sinister Sharpscales (4260gil from garrison vendor)
1 Lucian Carp Rowscales (500gil from Old Lestallum vendor)
2 Meteorites (2 x level 49 weapon dismantle)
2 Vitality Gemstones (120VIT dismantle, can use Chrome Bits from Meldacio)
1 Strength Gemstone (60STR dismantle, can use Chrome Bits from Meldacio)
1 Strength Shard (14STR dismantle, can use Chrome Bits from Meldacio)
1 Sharp bone (if you happened to have it +1str)

Dancing Daggers (very strong buff weapon)

Obtained by trading 5 Dynamo in Cauthess. You can buy Dynamo in Old Lestallum vendor.

7 Meteorites (dismantled from lvl49 weapons)
10 Flame Shards (Drooping Whisker dismantle, 4 at a time)
11 Frost Shards (Drooping Whisker dismantle, 4 at a time)
11 Storm Shards (Drooping Whisker dismantle, 4 at a time)
9 Dark Shards (Drooping Whisker dismantle, 4 at a time)
(all above shards can be dismantled using 44 Drooping Whiskers from Garrison vendor, 4 at a time)
11 Sturdy Plate (dismantled using 132 Rusted Bits from Old Lestallum, 33 at a time)
15 Curved Hollowhorns (Garrison Vendor, 31500gil )
2 Srength Shards (28STR dismantle)
1 Big Scorpion Stinger (keep "DeathTouch X" ability, purchased in Garrison vendor, 6000gil)

(There are multiple types of Tainted Clubs, the one you want only requires Spirit to evolve)

Clarity Shield (convenient stat stick)

Obtained from Meldacio vendor. Just a convenient stat stick with Confuseproof and 300HP, many other weapons can be used instead, such as Cornflower, Dancing Cross, Immortal Aegis, Aegis Shield etc. etc.

Since all materials except Behemoth Tear (and optional sharp bones) can be obtained by either directly buying them from vendor or buying crap from vendor for dismantling, you can basically dump ~370k gil and buy all the mats required, but i bet you will spend much less since you will probably have lots of trash materials for dismantling by the time you get to this build.

@Joepelus If you want transform weapon, you must fullfill yellow metters on stats until it will be full (white), then on max level, weapon will transform. Problem with guides is that they are for 30% buff to crafting, and without it you can be short some points to fullfill that metter. I had that with blood shield, i had to change some items to break. You can also give meteorite to move max level and have some more room to fullfill, but it will destroy next steeps of guide.

@hecate, you can raise the level cap by using Meteorites on your weapon, exactly as instructed in the guide. Be sure to use the materials in order to ensure you dont get different results.
