Many people wonder, "how do I get to 200 quickly?". This is not an easy task and some don't have proper funding like others which can make the process slow and tedious. However that's what this guide is for, if you have little to no funding then this guide is for you.

*WARNING* This guide is slightly out of date and some of the training locations have changed. Most of them are still viable but some of them are higher level then before so be wary when going to a new location.
An updated version will be made soon after i've done more research into new locations.
Character Selection and Description
There are a total of 26 characters with more being added all the time (Xenon and Demon Avenger to soon be added to GMS) Each character is unique with its own strengths and weaknesses. No class is weak in any way, there are just those that are stronger. Class selection is very important and some people don't know what to choose. So here is a detailed list of each class and a description of each. If you know what class you want, ignore this section.

Explorers: There are Currently 5 main explorers each splitting into different sub classes

Warriors: With 3 sub classes being Hero's, Paladins, and Dark Knights. These are very powerful classes with some of the highest Hp in the game.
Heros: While being powerful they lack a bit of speed. Most of there power comes from there combo skill. A friend got his hero so powerful he kept getting kicked for hacking so it's safe to say this is a powerful class.
Paladins: Definatly a good class with extremely high defense and strong attack the down side is it can be slow but a great bossing character none the less. This class however Can be a pain to train up till 4th job and even then you have to FIND it's main mob attacking skill.
Dark Knights: A personal favorite from the warrior classes this class has the highest hp out of the warriors as well as some of the fastest attack, however this extra bonuses are traded off for power and can be slightly weaker then the other warriors. HOWEVER this is the easiest class to reach to 4th job

Bowmen: With only 2 sub classes this class is fairly easy to train but should be avoided if you don't have at least a tiny bit of funding (can be pretty weak otherwise)
Bowmaster: Has a good balance between power and speed. Definatly in my top 5 explorers. The character itself can be a little confusing when putting points into skills so it would be wise to read up on the skills first. This character is a good bossing character with the skill huricane in 4th job you can just hold the skill button and it just doesn't stop.
Crossbowmen: One of the best bossing classes in the game hands down. The class is extremely powerful making it one of the strongest explorers, however it can be a bit slow as one of its main bossing skills has a cooldown. However with new hyper skills the cooldown is removed (once you reach the correct level to unlock it) Training this class to 4th job can be a bit of a pain but not as bad as some other characters.

Thieves: With 2 sub classes this is one of my least favorite classes. However this is definatly another powerful class. This class is mainly based around speed being some of the faster explorers however it's not without its power. (I don't use theives so i have no real personal experiance using these classes)
Shadower: This class uses mainly daggers and can be fairly strong hitting up to 16 times at once with the shadow partner skill. The character is based around moderate speed with decent power. With the right weapons and equipment it can be very strong however without those it is a bit lacking.
Night Lord: The class uses throwing knives/stars and is fairly powerful and fast again being a good balance between the two. Not much can be said about this class other then it has a good attacking power even without good equips, it can't hit 16 times at once like the shadower but it picks that up with its speed.

Magician: With 3 sub classes this class can be difficult but rewarding to train. Because its one of few other classes (I think only about 3 other classes) that use intel and magic attack to increase its overall power this is a class that could be expensive to fund and therefore very weak to those without the funding
Fire/Poison Mage: This is a slow class more focused on damage over time, and one of the very very few that does it effectively (only other class i know of that does damage overtime effectively is shadower) This is one of those "fire and forget" kinda classes. You lay down some poison fog let it do its thing and clean up afterwards. My friend refers to this character as the "lazy mans training". However this can be a good class and DoT (damage over time) can be very effective against bosses.
Ice/Lightning Mage: This is a good bossing and mobbing character all in one package. With its 4th job skill chain lightning you can take down both large mobs and bosses fairly easily. This is a decently powerful class with few downsides (besides expensive equipment) There isn't much to be said about this class besides it's a pain to find skill books.
Bishop: One of the weakest classes in the entire game. Seriously don't play this class unless you like support. You will see tons of bishops in game but none of them attack. You use this class to increase exp gained for other people with the skill holy symbol (HS for short) The class is useless to use for anything other then support. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS!!! Only use this class as a mule

Pirates: With 2 sub classes this is one of my all time favorite classes and currently my highest level character (at 165) Depending on which of the sub classes you choose depends on the play style as they are 2 polar opposites, even needing different stats (one using strength the other using Dexterity)
Buccanneers: My all time favorite class being my current highest level character at 165 this character is a power house. Buccs were once extremely difficult to level however since they were updated they are now easier to level (seriously before it took forever to get to 3rd job and even longer to 4th) These characters have from what i've seen the highest speed/damage ratio. With the skill SI (speed infusion) the characters attacking speed is increased significantly and is a party skill meaning those in your party get it to. This is a great bossing character and a decent mobbing character. The buccs main mobbing skill can only be used in its "transformation" which requires charging by attacking mobs.
Corsairs: I don't know much about this class but it's definatly one of the least used classes (besides maybe the Jett) however besides that point it is still a good class with one of the best mobbing skills. However its lacks any good bossing skills and can be a pain to find books for (even more so the I/L mage) I have now personal experiance with this class and none of my friends use it either so i don't know much about it.

Cygnus Knights: I wont talk much about these characters as these are pretty pointless characters to have except for the empress buff and UA characters (which I will explain at the end of this part) Cygnus Knights only go to level 120 and are useless to keep except for the buffs.
Dawn Warrior: Probably the easiest Cygnus Knight to train fairly fast, decent damage.
Wind Archer: I know nothing about this class besides its a bowmen, its fast slightly low damage.
Blaze Wizard: Another decent character with decent damage and speed.
Night Walker: Besides Dawn Warrior one of the higher damage dealing Cygnus Knight
Thunder Breaker: The only cygnus knight worth keeping as it gives a good card buff (+dmg per level) Decent damage and speed
UA explanation: UAs are explorer characters that you can make after getting a Cygnus Knight to 120 and are actually sort of worth the work. The character of your choice starts at level 50 with an extra skill from the class of your choice as well as the ability to wear equipment 10 levels above your actual level. The best UA character to make in my opinion would be a paladin as they have no main mobbing skill and the UA skill for warriors is very good as well as strong.
Character Selection Continued
Resistance: This class holds some pretty powerful characters however some of the more underrated characters. With only 4 classes in total these classes are still pretty poewrful.
Mechanic: Once a very powerful character, a few nerfs later and it's a mear relic of its old power. However it is still a powerful class with good speed. Its main skill in 4th job seige mode is very powerful however very limited as you can only look left and right, you can't move otherwise.
Wild Hunter: This is actually another powerful class however its another one of those classes that no one uses so i can't say much for this class.
Battle Mage: One of the top mobbing classes it has decent speed. You will mainly see a lot of hackers use this class because its so good at mobbing. Other then that not much else can be said about it
Demon Slayer: One of the best classes in the game at 4th job. It is an AMAZING mobbing character and a good bossing character as well. However personally I use it to leech my buddy at aliens (a training map for 90-110) as it can wipe the entire map out in a matter of literally 2 seconds. The class is fairly easy to train and has a decent attacking power as well. Unfortunately this is one of the classes Nexon has decided can only be created during certain times and can be a pain to try and wait when they reopen the class.

Heroes: These characters are probably one of the highest attacking (supposedly) but also some of the most difficult to level. There is also the issue that Nexon only allows you to create all the hero classes during special events so creating one can be difficult.
Aran: One of the strongest classes but also the slowest. This can be a difficult class to train but well worth the trade off as it is EXTREMELY powerful. However it can also be a bit boring as it is a button mashing character.
Evan: Probably one of the best mages in the came but also the biggest pain in the arse. It in total has 10 job advancements and some of it's skills (some important ones as well) need to be bought for NX which requires real money. However this is worth it as its a fast and powerful character (it attacks at max speed)
Mercedes: Another fast attacking and powerful character. This is probably the easiest character to train and very powerful even without funding. Definatly worth it when it is available. Its link skill even increases exp gained for whatever character you link it to
Phantom: One of the most common heroes. This class can steal skills from EXPLORERS ONLY. But that's still pretty cool and a pretty powerful class as well. Another character worth creating when available.
Luminous: I personal dislike this character as it's another mage and the 2nd hero that is a mage. (the last hero was SUPPOSE to be a pirate...) even still this is a pretty powerful character and is pretty interesting to play as you have to different sets of skills, dark and light. Definatly one of the stronger mage classes (without having to spend NX)

Nova: These classes are dragon characters with an interesting story tied to them. But no one cares about story in maple. However these are one of the top characters in all of maple being some of the best bossing characters in the game. But again Nexon only allows you to create them during certain events.
Kaiser: A similar class to the demon slayer. Its a decent mobbing character normally however once you build up enough evo bar thingy whatever its called, you are able to transform into "kaiser mode" or something like that, and it is POWERFUL. Unfortunatly this evo bar thingy whatever takes FOREVER to fill up and only lasts about 90 seconds when used. Even still this class is pretty powerful
Angelic Buster: This is quite honestly the BEST bossing class in the game. However you can only be a female character. Even still the power of this character is unmatched and can take down bosses in mear seconds, yes seconds. This is a must character if you wish to boss easily, however it can be to easy and kinda boring to train sometimes and i'd personally rather play an explorer.

Sengoku: One of the newest set of classes and some what kinda pointless. The only real class worth playing in this set of classes is the Kanna.
Kanna: This class is another mage class but like the Bishop one of those you don't really use to attack. This character is pretty much a mule as it has a skill that increases spawn rate. This is probably the best skill in the game however and kannas are now more sought after then Bishops now. But this is one of those you don't take bossing.
Hayato: Honestly the most worthless class in my opinion, complete garbage damage. however it is incredibly fast which in some ways makes up for the damage. Still kinda garbage class in my opinion but to each there own.

Special Classes: This are classes that don't exactly fall into the other classes even if they say "explorer" Some of these classes are pretty good others not so much. As well as being another set of classes Nexon only allows during certain times.
Cannoneer: this class is actually pretty powerful lacks a bit of speed but still pretty strong and a decent class. This class is mainly used as storage mule as it has almost max inventory slots, however it is still a good class and worth taking to high levels.
Dual Blader: One of the most common classes currently (can't go 20 feet without seeing one) Extremely fast and pretty powerful, this class is decent and fairly good at bossing, HOWEVER just like the even you need to buy some of the skills in the cash shop with NX
Jett: My least favorite of all the classes and should never have been created. I mean seriously. This class is utter garbage and has copy paste skills from other classes which is pointless you are better off actually playing the classes the skills come from. You will almost never see a Jett in the game as there damage is garbage and the aren't even very fast compared to other classes.

With that, that is all the classes and a fairly short description of each. Hope it helps in your choice of class. Now on to the reason you are here!
Levels 1~10
From these levels most of the classes actually start at level 10 however some of them like explorers, cygnus knight and the special classes start at level 1. However when it comes to actually training at these levels its simply better off to follow whatever main questline you have and grind away the last 1 or 2 levels left over after the questline is over. These are fairly easy levels to gain as they are the first few in the game of 200 and should take you now more then 10-15 minutes to gain.

Total time spent from levels 1~10: 10sec-15 minutes (depending on class)
Levels 10~30
This is were most of the newer classes actually start at as they automatically reach level 10 after whatever tutorial they have or you can simply skip that. From here there are a lot of options to start training. Some characters with have a simple questline to follow which can sometimes take you straight to level 30. However characters like the explorer classes don't and one of the best places to train is the henesys hunting grounds

Mushrooms: train on either green or horny mushrooms till about level 13-15 your choice, may take a bit of time.

Golems: depending on your level and class you can actually train here starting at level 10 or start at about 15, once you reach around level 21-23 you can go from normal golems to either mixed golems or the red golems. You can stay here till 30 if you like.

Mushmoms: This is probably the fastest and slowest way to reach 30 at the same time as you can attack either the blue mushmom or zomibe mushmom, the bad thing is they only spawn once an hour but you can change channels to kill them until they are all gone. I normally train here in the late 20s (around 27/28) to give me that extra quick boost to 30. This is not a good way to train for everyone as some 1st job classes don't have a good bossing skill.

Depending on where you train or whether you do quests till 30 it doesn't take very long to reach.

Total Training time from 10~30: 30 minutes - 50 minutes
Levels 30~60
From 30 to 60 things get a bit trickier, you now have your 2nd job advancement and depending on class you chose you only get stronger. This is probably my most hated levels to get through as things can get really really tedious.

Mushkingdom: Probably the only place to train from 30~40. My suggestion is stay here till you are 40 before you leave. Go through the questline and then stay at the spear pepes to train and you should be 40 in no time.

Training time 30~40: 50minutes - 1hour 20 minutes.

Kerning Shopping Center: This is where you go after mush kingdom however it is not recommended. If you would like to go through the questline go for it by the time you are done with it you should be in your mid 40s but don't stay here as the main training spot (cds) has been changed around and is now pointless to train unless you are very fast moving and can reach a second level quickly.

Training time 40~50: ?unknown?

Gold Richies Beach: Since the latest update this is the new place to train 40~50. It isn't as fast as CDs used to be but is still fairly fast. My opinion is you should be at least a few levels into your 40s (like about 42-43) before you start but i started at 40 and reached 50 perfectly fine. Go through the questline and stop to grind every once in awhile and you should reach 50 in no time at all.

Training time 40~50: 1hour - 2hours

Chryse: Probably the worst time of your life but the most neccassary. this is pretty much your best and fastest bet to reach level 60 quickly. My suggestion is collect all the necassary items for the quest line first, then grind a few levels at either golden scorpies or the golden ferret things. you should be about 45 before you even think of doing the quest then by the time you finish them all you should be level 50.
Items you need: 150 rabbits teeth, 150 golden rabbit scarves, 70 scorpie shells, 70 golden scorpie shells, 150 spears, 150 sheilds, 50 of each pixie item (star, lunar and solar) 70 mammoth tusks and 70 mammoth tails.

Training time 50~60: 1hour - 2hours and 30 minutes

This should take you to 60, you can train in other areas these are just the most suggested and probably the fastest.

Total Training time form 30~60: 3hour - 4hours
Levels 60~100
From here you've just reached 3rd job (unless you use cygnus or evans) and you have yet even more skills. Training from 60 to 100 can be a bit challenging till about 90. However it is significantly easier then 50-60.

Jesters: I recommend this highly however it can be really packed because it's such a good training spot, My suggestion is train here to about 70 and then train some where else however sometimes you can take your character all the way to about 90 here. In order to find an empty channel try logging on later in the night or early in the morning maybe during your free time as the channels start emptying out around 10pm pst and don't fill back up till around maybe 1pm pst.

Training Time 60~70: 40minutes - 1hour
Training Time 60~90: 3hours - 4hours

Sand Rats: This is located in magatia and is a bit difficult to train on starting at 60 which is why i suggest going to jesters till about 70. These give a decent amount of exp and are fairly easy to kill. I suggest staying here till about 75-77. If you are an explorer don't train here right at 60 especially if you don't have any funding however if you are any of the newer classes you should be fine starting at 60.

Training Time 60~75: 2hours - 3 hours
Training Time 70~75: 1hour - 1hours 30minutes

Roids: This is a great alternative to jesters starting at around 70-75 depending on the class you chose. My suggestion is stay here till about 90. Roids are fairly easy to kill and you can even kill the security camera mini boss which gives good exp as well.

Training Time 70/75~90: 3hours - 4hours

MP3: this is a similair training spot to jesters and can be pretty packed sometimes however isn't nearly as packed as jesters. You should start training here at 80 till 90. Monsters here give like 200exp less then jesters but there is significantly more spawn here and is therefore faster in some ways.

Training Time 80~90: 2hours - 2hours 30minutes

Aliens: Starting at 90 you are able to start a quest which will eventually lead you to a great training spot known as aliens. These mobs give a solid 3k exp per kill and are great to train at all the way to 110! or if you're lazy even higher! however our goal is only 100, This place is extremely crowed, even more so the jesters so finding a channel can be a bit of a hassle but it is pretty much the only training spot 90-100 that is worth your time. If you have a friend that happens to be a high level demon slayer (around 110+) you can actually have them leech you, simply party up with them and let them use demon cry. I do this all the time with a friend of mine and is the easiest way to 100

Training Time 90~100 solo: 2hours - 3hours
Training Time 90~100 party: 3hours - 4hours of relaxing

Gallows: This is an alternative to training at aliens however isn't very much worth it. it's :located in singapore. The map is fairly small and easy to traverse and you can train here from 90-100. However they only give about the same amount of exp as jesters.

Training Time 90~100: 4hours - 5hours

Training form 60~100 can be a bit of a pain but is mainly focused on grinding and I personally find it kinda fun as at 3rd job you get some of the better and more fun skills to use.

Total Training Time 60~100: 5hours - 12hours
Levels 100~165
Starting at 100 you are at your final job advancement and get your almost final set of skills. This is probably one of the most fun training times you will have starting at around 110.

Aliens: I'm sure you are familiar with this training area by now and you should continue to train here till around 110 but no lower. I don't have to explain much here just train to at least 110.

Training Time 100~110: 2hours - 4hours

Pirates: If you don't feel like trainig at aliens you can train at pirates in herb town. There is a secret dungeon you can get to which is a good place to train. Doesn't give much more exp then jesters or gallows but no one ever goes there and the place is all to yourself.

Training Time 100~110: 3hours - 5hours

Evo System: This is a new addition to maple story and is accessable starting at level 100 and is a good place to train as you get your own training map. Once inside immediatly go to link3 as it is the best place to train. It isn't as fast as aliens from 100~110 or lhc from about 110~130 but you can continue to train here 5 times a day to whatever level you like. At 165 i come back here often to gain a quick level or 2. During 2x this place is your best friend. There are ways to increase exp with different cores. Monsters are always your level and give a decent amount of exp for each kill (a little over 1k exp per kill at level 100) You can literally train here till 200 if you would like but not entirely recommended.

Training Time 100~???: How ever much time you decide to spend in it.

LHC: Starting at 110 you can now access a place called Lion Heart Castle (LHC for short) which will be your best friend from pretty much 110 till around 160ish maybe a little lower. You can only access LHC starting at 110 and you will pretty much be leeching from people till around 125-130. This is a party training area meaning you need to be in a party to train effectively (you gain additional exp for a full party) You can stay here till around 155~160

Training Time 110~160: ??? - ??? (you try recording how much time you spend here. you're here for awhile!)

Evo System: Again you wanna come back to the Evo system starting around 155~160 if you are bored of LHC as around these levels it becomes ineffective so this is highly recommended. I already explained this so simply go in use whatever cores you want and go straight to link 3 and train till 165. (during 2x it takes about 1hour to get 1 level from 160+)

Training Time 155~165: ??? - ??? (approx 1hour - 2hours per level)
Levels 165~200
Starting from 165 you have about half your hyper skills and training is becoming really slow, but you only have 35 more levels till 200! Things can get really complicated here and finding a party for some of the training spots can be really difficult.

Evo System: I've explained this twice already before so you should know enough, train here till about 170 if you'd like not entirely recommended as training here becomes increasingly slow taking instead of 1-2hours per level to about 2-3hours per level however you may want to party with people and maybe train with them as that will increase your exp output significantly

Training Time 165~170: ????????? (i'm only 165 haven't had a chance to record the time spent here)

KSH: This place is the Knights stronghold or something along those lines. There are a few prequests to get in but they are quick and easy. Like LHC it's better to train here with a party then in your own. However unlike LHC you wont be able to fully gain the exp from the other party members right away. The place most people train the mobs are around 174+ and you wont receive full exp till about 169 but you can still train here you just need to attack everything at least once to gain exp. You can train here to any level desired. To reach the next training aread you need to be at least 175 though.

Training Time 165~175: ?Uknown?

HOH: This place is Hall of honor and i've never been here. I know very little about the place. All i know is this is a place just like lhc and ksh and you need a party to gain decent exp. Starting at 175 you can train here pretty much all the way to 200 if you so desire.

Training Time 175~200: ?Unknown?

Training from 165 to 200 isn't to difficult but because you are a high level it can take awhile to gain just 1 level.

Total Training Time: To long -.-
Credits
All this information is self obtained. I have played maple for countless years and along with my buddy i'm always looking for the best places to train. These training areas are your fastest way of leveling and as i get closer to 200 I will add more information in the 165~200 section. Good Luck on your quest to 200! And happy mapling!!!

Hi, I do have the Original MapleStory Trading Card Game with over 150 cards and some code cards that were in packs bought. It seems like in my instruction book I have more information then was given on some characters ie.: Bowman, Magician, Thief, and Warrior. In set 1 of cards it tells you what you can kill for each character above. I do have 37 code cards for set 1.

I just started this game is there any point in investing attributes other than your primary stat? In other words, can I trust the judgment of auto-assign?

I would also include doing the quest lines because it provides a story and it helps with fighting Bosses on the guide.
