A collection of camoflauge-specialized outfits for use in various PUBG map biomes.

Why bother with camo?

PUBG is a game of who sees who first - and therefore who gets to shoot first.

Whether this guide will be useful to you really depends on your playstyle and what you want to get out of the game - for competitive players camo may be the edge they need over their opponents. If you're a more casual player then stick to whatever miscellaneous outfit/loadout you like best.

Camo is big in PUBG

Camoflauge indeed does make a difference, just look at the ingame Ghillie suit, a clear advantage. While we can't replicate the effect of the ghillie suit with regular clothes, we can come close.

The further you are from an enemy the more effective the camoflauge you wear becomes, this is because colours start to become indistinct to the eye at a certain distance, thus the effect of camo is buffed - even at medium to close range in an urban environment, the less your clothes outline a body shape and match the core colour scheme of the game the better - it could be the split second difference that allows you to shoot first, and walk away from an encounter alive.





Good camoflauge is the difference between seeing a moving black speck on a hillside and not seeing anything at all (or it being much harder to notice) - and as a bulk of encounters are at long distance; a properly camoflauged character (with a flash hider & silencer etc) will not be spotted nearly as easily.

For example, in the image below the black specks (moving players) were clearly visible hundreds of metres away on the far hill.



This guide will offer several in-depth options for effective camoflauge in PUBG.

Character Selection

Gender

• Choose the female body type; slimmer, shorter and less visible than the bulkier & taller male bodytype. The hitboxes do not differ between the models, but there is a visibility difference.

Hair

Opt for no hair, this helps reduce the character's visibility.

Skin colour

• Opt for black skin for minimal visibility in darker areas of the map, great for Erangel and leafy green areas, you will be nearly invisible in shadowed areas. Dark skin is more situational and works best in darker biomes.



• Opt for pale white skin for the most flexible camoflauge between the maps - as the game's colour scheme tends towards washed out, lighter toned/drab colours the lighter skin tone works best as an all-situation camoflauge - If you require darker tones put on darker clothing to mask the lighter skin tone.

Weapon Skins

Weapon skins are an important part of overall camoflauge, the beige weapon skins work great with the Miramar/desert outfit, but also works great on Erangel due to the general game colours being washed out.

I'd recommend purchasing all of the beige weapon skins and also the Desert Digital skins, too. They are quite cheap on the Steam market.

Outfits

Miramar Outfit:
A desert-specialized outfit, will make you invisible on a hill at a distance, blends great with sandy-beige backgrounds and sandstone rocks, also works well in urban areas.

• Character: Female, pale white skin, no hair.

• Clothing: Blood tank top (white), Cargo pants (beige), Fingerless gloves (tan), Hi-top trainers (brown)

• Alternative version of outfit: Add a Padded jacket (beige) to help cover up any military vests and the utility belt. You could also swap the Cargo pants out for Combat pants (khaki)

• Weapons skins: Rugged (beige)

Erangel Outfit:
The Miramar outfit works alright on Erangel, but here's a more forest-specialized outfit for those interested in the tree camo, grass camo, and camo that excels in shadowed areas.

• Character: Female, pale white skin, no hair OR Female, dark black skin, no hair (even better)

• Clothing: Sleeveless turtleneck (gray), Camo combat pants (gray), Fingerless gloves (leather), Hi-top trainers (brown), Beanie (gray)

• Alternative version of outfit: Swap in an Urban Padded jacket (beige). You could also swap the Camo combat pants (gray) out for Wide pants (red)

• Weapons skins: Default, Jungle Digital

Sanhok Outfit:
Featuring muted greens and washed-out browns, this outfit is designed to adapt to the colour of the Sanhok terrain, excels at distance. Perhaps could switch in some stronger greens if you wanted.

• Character: Female, pale white skin, no hair OR Female, light brown skin, no hair (even better)

• Clothing: Dirty Long Sleeved T-shirt, Skinny Jeans (khaki), Combat Gloves (khaki), School Shoes (beige), Beanie (brown)

• Alternative version of outfit: Swap in a Camo Padded jacket (beige).

• Weapons skins: Default, Jungle Digital
