Hobbies and Pastimes

This is a list of all hobbies and pastimes events and missions. This guide is intended to help you out get all tasks and missions if you get stuck.

Hobbies and Pastimes are not generally hard to do, but some locations are hard to find, so this guide might help you.

Not All Hobbies and Pastimes are required for 100% Checklist, but most of them are required you can complete 42 out of 60.
You can head over to your profile at rockstar social club https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/pc/career/checklist to check your progress and required Hobbies and Pastimes missions.

Stunt Plane Time Trials

Stunt Plane Time Trials are NOT required for 100% game completion.

This mission is only available for Special and Collectors edition GTA 5.

There are total of 5 Time trials and task is to complete all flights in given time.

There are gold, silver and bronze medal based on time for each time trial.

There are 3 different circles, yellow, green and blue. On yellow circles player can pass in any direction, on green circles player must pass sideways in direction marked in circle, and on blue circles player must pass upside down.

For each circle you pass you get - bonus time, and each circle you miss, penalty time is added to your time.

Main trick here to achieve gold medal and time is:
If you pass yellow circles in normal fly position, you get 1s bonus time, but if you pass sideways you get 2s bonus, while passing through yellow circle upside down, you get 3s bonus time.

So to achieve best time and gold medal, pass as much as you can upside down on yellow circles.

Shooting Range

GTA V Shooting Range is part of Hobbies and pastimes and it is required to complete for 100% game completion.

To start with Shooting Range, all you have to do is to walk in in one of Ammunation stores with Shooting Range. Those with Shooting Range are marked with gun with target circle on map.

To complete all shooting range challenges for hobbies and pastimes you need to win 3 medals in each weapon category, it doesn't matter what weapon you use and what medal you get, you just need a medal.

There are total of 6 categories in shooting range:

Hand Guns
Submachine Guns
Assault Rifles
Shotguns
Light Machine Guns
Heavy

Street Races

GTA V Street Races are part of Hobbies and pastimes and it they are required to complete for 100% game completion.

Street Races are available for Franklin and becomes available when you complete Strangers and Freaks Hao mission. After that you have first 2 races and rest of them unlocks when you complete previous one.

Street Races are only available during night time. To complete them you need to race and win any medal, you don't need to get gold.

There are total of 5 races

South Los Santos
City Circuit
Airport
Freeway
Vespucci Canals

Win at Tennis

To get to win at tennis you have to beat your opponent, you can also achieve Misc task "Friend Activity: Play Tennis"

To achieve this task, call your friend to hang out, once you pick up your friend, take a look at the map and you will have tennis racket (8 locations) on the map, pick one and drive there to start your match.
Shortest match is 6 games and you need to beat your opponent, which is not hard at all.

Play Golf

For this activity you need to: Play 9 holes of golf and finish even or below par. If you do this with one of other 2 characters in game you can achieve Misc task "Friend Activity: Play Golf"

So this is a little bit tricky task and you will have to know how to play golf or need a little bit of trial and error to achieve.

To play golf, call other character on the phone, pick him up and there is only one golf course in city, and it's marked with golf pole on map. If you don't see mark than you can't play golf because you are in wrong time of day. Golf can only be played during daytime.

Win at Darts

To win at darts you have to beat your opponent, and here you can also achieve Misc task "Friend activity: Play Darts" if you play with other character.

So call one of other 2 characters to hang out, and there's one pub with darts near Trevor house near Airport. You can see dart or target marker on the map. Drive to pub and start game of darts.

How do you win at darts?
The most common objective is to reduce a fixed score, commonly 301 or 501, to zero ("checking out"). The final dart must land in either the bullseye or a double segment in order to win. It takes a little practice.

Private Dance at Strip Club

You can also achieve Misc task "Friend activity: Visit the strip club" if you go to the club with one of other 2 characters. You probably know but to mention, Strip club is marked as healshoe on map.
To get private dance you need to get into the club and call one of the girls for private dance, and follow her to private booth for a dance. You can even make it more spicy and get double private dance.

Triathlon

GTA V Triathlon missions are part of Hobbies and pastimes and they are required to complete for 100% game completion.

There are total of 3 Triathlon missions and first one is unlocked after Daddy's little girl, next one is unlocked after completing previous one.

Each Triathlon is longer than previous one, while first one is 5 min run last one is 25min run. You need to win a medal in each one of them for 100% completion.

I would suggest to leave Triathlon missions to the end when your character have 100% stamina so it can be easier.

Offroad Races

GTA V Offroad Races are part of Hobbies and pastimes and they are required to complete for 100% game completion.

There are total of 6 Offroad Races and you have to complete them all. 4 of them are with bikes and 2 with cars. You can play with any character and as reward you will get Moto X outfit. Each race is unlocked when previous one is completed.

Canyon Cliffs
Ridge Run
Valley Trail
Lakeside Splash
Eco Friendly

It is not required to get gold, you just need to get any medal to pass. So basically be in one of first 3 places.

Bail Bonds

Ralph Ostrowski

(Quarry)

In Bail Bonds Missions you need to catch reprobates and bring them to Maude or kill them. These missions are not repeatable so if reprobate escapes you wont get reward, if you bring them to Maude you get 10 000$ for each one, if you kill them you get less money.

This is first Bail Bonds mission. You need to catch Ralph Ostrowski, he is hiding in the middle of the quarry at Davis Quartz. Once you approach him, he will get in the car and start getting away. So try to blow his tires. You can either zap him or shoot him with gun only once in his leg. If he starts getting away with a car, shoot at the back of a car and he will eventually stop and surrender. Than drive him to Maude.

Larry Tupper

(Farm)

This is second Bail Bonds mission. You need to catch Larry Tupper, he is hiding by the large barnyard just south of the Victory Motel. Once you approach him, you can see he is with some friends, they will try to shoot you while Larry will take a run. So quickly kill all the enemies there and make a run for Larry. When you catch him, stun him with a stun gun and take him to your car. Than drive him to Maude.

• There is no gold requirements for this mission

Glenn Scoville

(Mountain)

This is third Bail Bonds mission. You need to catch Glenn Scoville, he is on the top of Mount Chiliad and ready to jump. Once you approach him, he will jump, if you can try to quickly stun him before he jump, if not, than jump after him and parachute, once you land chase him and catch him. When you catch him, stun him with a stun gun and take him to some car. Than drive him to Maude.

• There is no gold requirements for this mission

Curtis Weaver

(Hobo)

This is fourth and last Bail Bonds mission. You need to catch Curtis Weaver, he is located at the Dignity Village hobo camp in Paleto Bay Once you approach him, he will start shooting at you, zap him with stun gun and he will surrender. Take him to some car. Than drive him to Maude.

• There is no gold requirements for this mission

Trevor Arms Traffic

GTA V Arms Traffic missions are part of Hobbies and pastimes and they are required to complete for 100% game completion.

Arms Traffic missions are available for Trevor only and you need to purchase McKenzie Airfield to unlock them. They are simple pickup and delivery missions, you pickup weapons in ground trafficking and deliver weapons or bomb Trevor rivals in Air missions. There are total of 10 missions, 5 for each one.

You start Ground missions by entering Sand Buggy at airfield, and Air missions by entering airplane inside hangar. Each successful Air mission will give you 7000$ and Ground mission 5000$.

Hunting

GTA V Hunting is part of Hobbies and pastimes and it is not required to complete for 100% game completion.

Hunting is available only with Trevor and it's available when you complete mission "Fair Game". You can start hunting by going on location with elk head marker on map and enter trailer.

During hunting Cletus will give you few tasks to hunt down some animals, each kills give you some money and some reward points, best shots are in heart or neck. You can get gold medal for hunt but it's only in mission reward, not counting or needed for any completion.

Flight School

GTA V Flight school is part of Hobbies and pastimes and it is required to complete for 100% game completion.

Flight school is located at Los Santos airport, and is available after mission Friends Reunited.

There are total of 12 lessons in Flight school and you have to complete them all.

Loop the Loop
Helicopter Course
Helicopter Speed Run
Skydiving
Drop Zone
Earn Your Wings

It is not required to get gold, you just need to get any medal to pass. But anyway it's not that hard, with few retries you could be able to get all gold medals

NOTE: There is different Flight school in GTA online, this is only single player and this one counts toward 100% completion.

Sea Races

GTA V Sea Races are part of Hobbies and pastimes and they are required to complete for 100% game completion.

There are total of 4 Sea Races and you have to complete them all.

East Coast
North East Coast
Raton Canyon
Los Santos

It is not required to get gold, you just need to get any medal to pass. So basically be in one of first 3 places. But anyway it's not that hard, with few retries you could be able to get all gold medals.

Perform Yoga

You can perform yoga at 2 locations in the game, and one of locations is in back yard of Michael's house.

Parachute Jumps

Parachute jumps are part of Hobbies and pastimes and it's required to complete toward 100% game completion.

While this is technically not part of Strangers and Freaks missions, it is require to complete all parachute jumps to be able to unlock and play last Strangers and Freaks Dom's mission named Uncalculated Risk.

Parachute jumps are divided into 2 sections "Base jumps" and "Helicopter jumps" and there are total of 13 jumps.

Base jumps are triggered when you reach to parachute location on the map and you will find a parachute on the ground to activate mission.

Helicopter jumps are triggered when you reach to parachute location on the map and you will find helicopter waiting for you to hop in to activate mission.

When you complete all base jumps you will achieve Hobbies and Pastimes:
• Parachuting: Complete all base jumps

When you complete all Helicopter jumps you will achieve Hobbies and Pastimes:
• Parachuting: Complete all heli jumps

Wildlife Photography

Wildlife Photography is event for returning players, for players who had previously bought game on consoles, so those who have only PC version of game, can't achieve this task. It's not required for 100% completion.

Wildlife photography is series of photographing animals in the wilds, they are scattered on different locations on map. What you need to do is to snatch a photo of animal and send it to LS Tourist Board. They can be completed after Paparazzi missions with Franklin.

Again this is for returning players only, so i couldn't complete it as i have PC version only, so here's guide where you can find all 20 animals.

Stock car races

Stock car races is series of street racing events, they are also part of console returning players, so if you own only PC version you can't complete this event.

Stock car races are available for Trevor after completing MR.Philips mission, and they are not required for 100% completion. I only own PC version so i can't complete this event but here's good guide on all locations.
