Vermintide Mod Framework

Description
The Vermintide Mod Framework (VMF) is an open-source, community-run framework of modules that provides enhanced modding capabilities and support. The framework is designed to be both independent and lightweight; making no changes to gameplay on its own.

Mods created for the project may utilize:
  • Mod options
  • Shared function hooks
  • Chat commands
  • Keybinds
  • Mutator support (only available in Vermintide 1 at this time)
  • Network calls
  • Rewritten, lightweight mod functions
  • An on-event call system

The Vermintide Mod Framework originally started in Warhammer End Times: Vermintide as an unofficial modding platform. In the time since, VMF has been rewritten and redesigned with contributions from many unique members of the community; culminating in this unified project made for the arrival of official mod support.

If you're interested in creating mods with VMF, please check out the project's wiki[vmf-docs.verminti.de].

If you'd like to contribute to the code behind VMF, visit the project's GitHub repository[github.com].

Your friend should try playing while subscribed to VMF only, so there's no possibility of other mod interacting with the game anyhow. Then, depending on a result, we will be able to conclude if it's some mod's fault or something else.

1. If the game performs stable with VMF on, then it's on some mod.
2. If the game still crashes, it's probably something within the game itself.

About a year ago I had encountered this kind of error a few times. The only difference was the game crashing at startup (which makes sense) instead of crashing in the middle of the game (which doesn't). So, unless something related to mod packages interaction was changed since then, #1 is extremely unlikely, but still a possibility and worth checking. If it's #2 and your friend is still willing to sort this out,

you or him should join Vermintide Modders discord and tell about your problem in #using-mods: https://discord.gg/XwST7fN There are many awesome helpful people there and maybe someone will be able to help your friend. If not, his only option is going to Fatshark Forums and filling a ticket: https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/c/v2/tech/54

Hi.
My friend has unsubbed from every mod and deleted everything from the workshop directory as you adviced earlier.
He has also run the Windows System File Checker which downloaded and installed a bunch of stuff. He played the game with a couple mods enabled after he had rebooted and he crashed twice in the lobby during our 1h30 session, which made the game seem more stable than usual.
He ran Windows Update during the night and it downloaded a bunch of updates (Intel IME etc). Today we tried playing the game, once again with mods enabled, and he crashed twice during a single mission.
His WIndows installation is clean, the game and mod files are fresh, we really don't know what to do anymore.

Here his latest console log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16CtJ40uDh1yC7-WGIZtUX-u2fHdXA_1f/view?usp=sharing
The error message looks similar to the previous one. He didn't get a bugsplat this time though.
Thanks in advance, we appreciate your help.

Thanks for the quick answer. We'll try your potential solution tomorrow and I'll report the results here.

Alternatively, you can disable all mods except VMF in the launcher and then temporary move out all the folders but the VMF one from workshop directory to avoid mass unsubscribing-resubscribing, and then launch the game. Or maybe it works in VT1 only? I don't quite remember.

Based on the given result, we'll figure out what to do next.

Hey, thanks for thorough feedback!

> Access violation (0xc0000005) in build 4a72d442d73c accessing address FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF from 00007FF60EFBA1C4

I can't say the exact reason of the crash, but, based on your description, I have a theory. Which can be wrong. I think your friend is subscribed to some mod with faulty package which causes engine to crash when read, even if said mod is disabled. Tell your friend to do the following:

1. Unsubscribe from all mods except VMF
2. Check that VT2 workshop folder (https://vmf-docs.verminti.de/#/steam-workshop?id=file-structure) contains only 1 folder named '1369573612' which is VMF workshop id. To be sure VMF files are not corrupted, you can unsubscribe from VMF, delete its workshop folder if it remains, and resubscribe to VMF.
3. Try running the game and see if it still crashes to figure out if it was some other mod's fault.

Hi. My friend is experiencing random crashes while playing VT2. He tried everything on the Frequent Crash Troubleshooting page on the official VT website, i.e. verifying the game cache, reinstalling Easy Anti Cheat, reinstalling GPU drivers and reinstalling the game entirely, but nothing worked.

The games only seems to run properly when all mods are disabled. Also, he tried running it with nothing but VMF enabled and the game crashes after a couple minutes spent idle in the lobby.

Here's his console log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q_OUnGP2hl016Kwv2LFjHYD6zmP5QD8Y/view?usp=sharing

And here's his bugsplat log just in case:

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hey, thanks a lot! I can put it in VMF's description for people with Chinese Steam client if it's a proper translation (i.e. not google translate or something)

Vermintide Mod Framework(VMF)是一个开源的、社区运行的模块框架,提供增强的moding功能和支持。这个框架被设计成既独立又轻量级的,不会对游戏本身进行任何改变。

为项目创建的MOD可利用:

Mod选项

共享函数挂钩

聊天命令

键绑定

Mutator
