Colored Nickname Guide

Very basic guide to change your nickname color in Rust

If you want to make your nickname colorful in-game just follow my steps and then have fun in-game.

1. Go to your steam profile and click Edit.
2. Paste <color=#e60000>Text</color> to your steam name and replace Text with your steam Nickname.
3. Change HEX color code or use simple names like red, blue and etc.
4. Now you are ready to troll players in-game and enjoy your new colored nickname.

*Note: This trick works only for Inventory, dead body and skulls. Also feel free to see your nickname colored in server messages, F1 item spawn and more server related stuff like community vanilla welcome messages and more.

WARNING: You can`t have colored chat nickname because its related with server and imagine how OP everything can be.

*you can use both color name or hex code


There is bonus for you. Name with BIG size. Just type same code but replace color with size and choose number.
Ex: <size=50>Name</size>

This trick is based on Unity Rich Text formatting.

In-game preview

Nah Its patched as I checked or probably just broken from Facepunch again. When you set your name like this <color=orange>Flammable</color> its shown like (color=orange)Flammable(/color) when you check your skull instead of being colored. Now only works in chat if your name is triggered via server messages... Example: Console give messages etc.

Just want to figue out how to do it. Saw one guy with same trick but in chat he has name without code. Still blue but that would be perfect.

I got it too work with my name! And It looks funny but looks cool in game!
