Immersion: No Instant Healing Items

Description
So you're in a fight to the death, down to your last sliver of health, and there's an axe blade swishing towards your face. Pretty dire circumstances, huh...? Not in Skyrim; just freeze time, chug as many health potions and eat as many potatoes as you need to, then restart time and take that axe blade to the face like a champ!

This mod aims to address one of the biggest immersion breakers in Skyrim by making it so you can't do that any more. All healing items (and magicka/stamina recovery items) in the base game now have an effect over time instead of an instant effect. Alchemy ingredients are affected as well, so that potions you brew will work in the same way. Finally I have also overhauled all the food effects to be more realistic. Nearly all food now gives long duration, low magnitude beneficial effects; so it's genuinely worth it for the Dovahkiin to stop every now and then and eat some proper food, but chugging down a lot of food at once will just waste most of the effects. So now the game mechanics should incentivise you to role-play a little more.

This mod doesn't depend on the DLC, which also means that new items added by the DLC will only be partially affected by the changes; they will show something like "Restores X health for 0 seconds", where X is the amount that they previously gave instantaneously. Needless to say this also applies to items which are added by other mods.

Use this mod any way you wish.

Great mod but........Gourds, Skooma and Raw Clam meat sell for much too high of prices.Just plant gourds at your homestead and you can buy your way though the game.

Thanks Daresouma, it could be because of this mod if the Skooma cost is auto-calculated... If I ever dust off the CK and change this mod again I may try to fix that.

Skooma's cost is over14000 :(

The problem is that every bottle can be sold for aroud 15000 gold coins, and I don't think that scumbags and homeless can aford that, I mean, a house in Solitude costs 25000, and it's the most expensive one. With two biottles you can buy it and buy almost all the furniture. It's nice to get so much money from it but I personally think it's very role breaking, because yesterday a citizen sayd that no one has that amount of money, about 20 gold coins.... So if the problem comes from this mod and it could be fixed in some way I would be really grateful. And again, except that one issue the mod is amazing, thank you for your work, and your attention.

Hello, I recently started using this mod and let me say that it's amazing. Thanks to this I can use potions without feeling like cheating and thinking things out before just going head on towards the enemy, so I think it's a 10/10, or I'd thinks so if not for a small flaw that I think this mod generates. I'm not sure if it's this mod's fault but it's the only one that affects directly all the potions so I think the fact that the Skooma give 5 stamina regen for 300 seconds and then 50%(or something like that)slower stamina regen for 3600 secs is caused by the mod, but that's not the issue, I find those stats cool because it's a drug and at the beggining it gives you some benefits but then comes the drawback.

Now I can non-guiltily use potions!
I always abstained from alchemy for anything other than utility because of their instant effect

This is a scary mod. You're absolutely right. It's time to face ... reality (?)... and make my hero work for his survival.

Or if I do heal... I just Shout 'Become Ethereal,' or bring some crowd-control, or simply craft more healing potions and chug 5 at a time instead of 1.

I've tried mods like this before. I just end up stealthing so hard that I don't have to heal.
