This is the 4-2-3-1 Tactic I used whilst managing Sochaux in France. It saw me finish 4th in Ligue 1 in my first season after promotion. The tactic saw my team average 57.25% of possesion across that season and in the 3 following seasons my team has been the highest scoring team in the division most recently getting 91 goals in 38 games.

Whilst this tactic might look strange at first glace as its core with the player roles it's a 4-2-3-1 which will best suit teams with 2 strikers that are both in the first team. It will dominate possession in many games, even away from home as the teams fluid controlling style finds pockets of space for players to operate in.

This is not a plug in and play auto win tactic, you will need players to fit the roles within the team and it's important that your team are given time to train this tactic and familiarize themselves with it. Trying this tactic without any preparation for it will very likely not be successful. Please do not leave comments saying 'I played one game and lost 2-0, tactic doesn't work'.

Good stuff! I've only played this tactic for about 2 months and I'm planning on sticking with it for a while. So far, things are going all right. The most frustrating thing is that I'm seeing 60-70% possession, 2-3x more shots on target, 3+ more clearcut chances than the opposition, but losing a lot of games 1-0. My strikers are good quality but not Complete Forwards. Maybe that's the issue?

The possession and shots on target are really promising though!

Stop to wirte play 1 game and lose, don't work......u need more than 1 game for make this tactic working well, also u need a good player, for me work amazing...

started using halfway through a season with liverpool. This tactic is awesome. Over 60% possesion in all games. Salah is a beast dribbling down left wing. Robertson and TAA as wing backs also always in highlights.
