The console provides a command-line interface for the advanced configuration of Source games. Just about any configuration task can be completed from the console, and in fact many have to be.

For SFM there are approximately 2915 commands available in the cvarlist. Some do something when used, some don't, but the biggest problem we have is finding reference to what Cvars are actually available. Trying to search the Console by typing cvarlist {command} and what we might think is a valid command, returns absolutely nothing because when we use that command to find something, the command we input must start with the actual start to the command.
For example, if I want to find the command to have a bot shout "Save Me".
I can't search for 'cvarlist save'. If I type that, I would get the help information for following Cvars:
'save, save_async, save_asyncdelay, save_console, save_disable, save_finish_async, save_history_count, save_huddelayframes, save_in_memory, save_noxsave, save_screenshot, save_spew'
I would not get the help information for the actual cvar I need :
'bot_saveme'

So to here is the list of the cryptic Console Command Variables (cvars) available for the SFM Game Console.

Here you can use the Ctrl + F keys to open a search box and type a partial name. This will create Yellow pointers in the scroll bar indicating where in the guide your search can be found. Just Scroll to the Yellow pointer to see what was found.
