This guide shows you where all the hard fishing spots are located in Far Cry 5.
Simply go to the locations, catch the specific fish which weighs more than the local record
and you will unlock the "Old Betsy" Fishing Rod.

Where To Find All Of The Fishing Records

The three fishes which are shown on the right side of the record board are region specific.
The records of the four fishes on the left are the same for every region.

Henbane River Region Fishing Records – Hope County Jail

1. Smallmouth Bass- 6lbs
   
2. Largemouth Bass- 8lbs
   
3. Rock Bass- 3lbs

Whitehall Mountains Region Fishing Records – Wolfs Den

1. Chinook Salmon- 27lbs
   
2. Kokanee Salmon- 6lbs
   
3. Arctic Grayling Salmon- 3lb

Holland Valley Region Fishing Records – Falls End. Inside the bar on the wall

1. Pallid Sturgeon- 55lbs
   
2. Paddlefish Sturgeon- 112lbs
   
3. Chinook Salmon- 27lbs

"All Region" fishes (on the left side of the record board):

1. Bull Trout- 21lbs
   
2. Golden Trout- 4lbs
   
3. Lake Trout- 37lbs
   
4. Rainbow Trout- 28lbs

Recommendation:

I recommend to visit every fishing spot in this chronologic order, so that you don't forget a fish. It should take you about half an hour to catch all the 15 different fishes with the needed weight, if you have a fast travel point close to the fishing spot.
If you don't know which fish you haven't catched yet and don't know how they look like, simply compare the weights of the fishes on the records board with the weights and the specific fish name in this guide.

All Regions Fishing Records

Where To Catch Bull Trout (Hard)
The Bull Trout (Hard) can be found in the North West area of the map. It’s a short distance from Langford Lake, to the North West. Your catch must be over 21lbs.



Where To Catch Golden Trout (Hard)
The fishing spot for Golden Trout (Hard) can be found a short distance from the South West of Rye & Sons Aviation. Your Golden Trout needs to weigh over 4lbs.



Where To Catch Lake Trout (Hard)
The Lake Trout (Hard) Fishing spot is on the far East of the County. A very short distance North West of Fort Drubman. It needs to weigh over 37lbs.



Where To Catch Rainbow Trout (Hard)
You can find the Rainbow Trout (Hard) fishing location just East of Rae-Rae’s Pumpkin Farm. This
must be over 28lbs.

Henbane River Region Fishing Records

Where To Catch Smallmouth Bass (Hard)
You can find the Smallmouth Bass (Hard) fishing spot on the very Eastern edge of Henbane River region. It’s a distance South East of Rock Bass Lake. Your catch must be over 6lbs.



Where To Catch Largemouth Bass (Hard)
The Largemouth Bass (Hard) fishing spot can be located in the South Eastern area of the region. Just South of Nolan’s Fly Shop. Your catch needs to be over 8lbs.



Where To Catch Rock Bass (Hard)
The fishing spot to catch Rock Bass (Hard) is dead in the middle of Rock Bass Lake, on the Eastern side of the small island. Tiny one to finish, you just need one weighing over 3lbs.

Whitetail Mountain Region Fishing Records

Where To Catch Chinook Salmon (Hard)
You can locate the Chinook Salmon (Hard) fishing spot a short distance North West of the F.A.N.G Center. The one you catch must be over 27lbs.



Where To Catch Kokanee Salmon (Hard)
To find the Kokanee Salmon fishing spot travel up to McKinley Dam and walk over the shore of Cedar Lake in the South West area. You need to fish one up over 6lbs.



Where To Catch Arctic Grayling Salmon (Hard)
The Arctic Grayling Salmon (Hard) fishing spot is far to the North Western edge of the area. North West of MicKinley Dam. You need to catch one weighing at least 3lbs.

Holland Valley Region Fishing Records

Where To Catch Pallid Sturgeon (Hard)
You can find the Pallid Sturgeon (Hard) spot just South of the Lamb of God Church. You need to catch one weighing over 55lbs.



Where To Catch Paddlefish Sturgeon (Hard)
You can find a Paddlefish Sturgeon (Hard) spot not far from the Pallid Sturgeon spot. It’s to the South East, just South of Seed Ranch. You need to catch one over 112lbs

"Old Betsy" Fishing Rod

Catch a fish over the weight for each section and you’ll unlock the "Old Betsy" Fishing Rod in Far Cry 5.
