Introduction
Tachanka is in my opinion one of the worst used operators in rainbow six, by that I mean he can be really annoying to get working well. 50% of the time its because of the centeral mechanic of the lord [that being a non-moving turret which can only protect your head.] and 50% of the time because he isnt used right.

A quick disclamer, most of these Statagys might only be useful in casual AND i am not a dimond level player. so dont take this guide too seriously.
Basic Tips
Playing tachanka requires 3 things,
1. Planning
2. Even more planning
3. Even even more planning
Set up time is going to be your time. First things first, Place ment, now im going to go more indepth with this because most playstyles require diffrent set ups but there are some basic rules to follow.

~ When finding a place to put the turret you want to use as much nateral solid cover as possible, idealy behind a counter ore table, this is a good reason to equip the deployable sheild. walls are also useful, if you renforce them of course.

~ When picking your placement, you want 2 things, to cover the objective, and to be able to see every point some one could shoot you at. [ill refer to these as aim points] this includes easly destuctable walls.

~ Your turret only has a 180 degree rotation, so you want to point the turret in between your two furrthest left and right aim points, this way you dont have the worlds most annoying issue of getting shot half a degree from your guns reach.

~ If you use the deployable shield [which i suggest you do because literly everyone has barbwire or some other way to stop rushers] dont place it before you place your turret. you are just setting your self up for a bunch of fiddling with gaget placement.

~ Dont be scared to run from the turret, some times you have to move to the left, but you should try and pack it up, or get back on it when every thing settles.

~ Keep in mind the best spots to place the turret, or ever game will be a scrmble to place the turret.

Lets continue with the 2 ways to play tachanka.
French Operator Style
This Style is called the french operator style because you play tachanka like you play Doc or Rook. [which Qualincidently he pairs great with] that means 3 things.
1. After setup time, dont leave your turret and the objective room unless you are about to die.
2. Hold up enemys as much as possible, by using alot of covering fire.
3. Aim down the turret as much as you need to, because its basically a lazer beam
If you do this you may have a chance of never even seeing the enemy, but if you play your cards right you can get a few kills, and alot of assists.
German Operator Style
Just like the frech op style, this style is based off jager and bandits playstyle. Which incase you are wondering, involves alot of spawn peaking. here are the rules.
1. Instead of setting up the turret in a well forifided spot, in side of the objective room. Find a unexpected spot near a window or common peaking spot
2. Abandon the turret when ever you want to. you might just shoot it once and then have to run.
3. Generally be toxic. Not ban worthy toxic, but more like spam memes in chat toxic.
Lastly some finishing remarks.

Last tips and tricks
The lord needs his disiples. which are his teamates.
When playing with someone playing tackanka leave him good turret spots, cover his flanks, and generally build your defences off him. also dont be afriad to use/destory the turret when tackanka is dead. enemy can also use the turret so be careful.

Now what tachanka's strong and weak too.

Works well with:
~ Mira, having a huge peeping window is useful, and tachanka cant be instenttly headshoted once the mira drops. [provideing the miras not place behind him or ubisoft isnt being ubisoft and acting like his shield doesnt exist.
~ Rook, one of the most vonerable spots in tachankas turret is the spot the shield doesnt cover, the chest, and literally everything but the face. So might as well fix one of those.
~ Ela, when under the efect of a gerzmot mine you become a bit eratic. People tend to go for the head or the only thing they can see.
~ Legion, they cant run away from death if they cant run.

Is hard countered by:
~ Shields, luckly only 3 operators have these but they still suck. Just run from the turret if they get to close otherwise pin them down and dont let them aim.
~ Thermite, Invincable Baricades are not best as paper. Just run.
~ Hibana, same as thermite.
~ Capito, yea, its very hard counter but when is the last time you've seen a capito main.

Abolutely destroys:
~ Jackal, if you stay in one spot, especally if it covers all your posible Aim Points a quick pick turns into a magical counter peak.
~ Dokabi, again if you have a good spot, you love to be seen, heard, known, killing. Which is much easyier when the enemys run at you thinking your incompasitated but your really wrecking chances of winning
~ Ying, the gun has no recoil and lazer beam bullets. they cant plant if they cant get in the door.
~ Leon, ok, this may sound stuipid. REALLY stupid. but think about it. Leon cant find you with his drone while you are on a turret, and even if he finds you via drone theres 5 black beard shields infront of your face he cant see, and a zero recoil counter peak he has to deal with.

Hopefully this guide helps. but i mean if ubisoft takes everyones advice and alows his turret to move around. this guide will be gone.

The guide isn't bad, but it has some problems like "TOP-GREAT-BRITICH" spelling. Also really wnated to point out that Tachanka's recoil on LMG is actually big

Oh yeah Outback has a lot of greats spots, too. Behind the window in kitchen, behind the desk in the corner of Office, and Nature Room and Bushranger Room feature some great spots.

I know a lot of the best Tachanka spots. Reading room on Kafe has two of them, behind the counter in Cafeteria on Fortress (there's a spot in kitchen too but it's not as good), in the corner behind the desk in Commander's Office on Fortress (but watch out for drone holes), behind the bar near Hookah Lounge in Billiard's Room on Coastline, Blue Bar and Sunrise on Coastline also have some good spots, in the corner at the end of the hallway in Administration Office on Consulate, and in the back of Restaurant on Tower. Those are probably the best ones I can think of off the top of my head
