GWR 2-2-2 69 Class. Designed by the GWR's Daniel Gooch and built in 1855 by Beyer, Peacock & Co., 8 were built. The large single driving wheel was typical of passenger engines of the period. The large diameter was a simple engineering solution that allowed the standard piston stroke length to give a higher top speed, albeit at the expense of traction.

GWR 2-2-2 69 Class Rebuild. In the mid 1870s the 69 Class were rebuilt (largely as new engines) and in 1880 cabs were fitted. Around 1890 they were fitted with new domed boilers. In 1895 they were completely rebuilt again, only retaining their boilers and numbers, they became the 2-4-0 River Class. The last was withdrawn in 1918.

Has custom on-board camera position. Supports user colours, but no aging or user logo.

Very Early carriages to go with the engine are now available : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=913211854

Update: Added 57 Class goods engine.

What a great loco, sounds good and one just has to love the "cab riding position" rather than sitting on the front buffer. :steamhappy:

@Incrediblejimmy - Thanks. From looking at the code I can see the cause of issue, I'll sort that out.

Nice mod, having a bit of choice in 1850s starts is quite a good thing^^
I may have discovered a weird bug: Your train seems to cause smoke-particle effects on other parts of the map for me.

@buttheadlovepantera - Thanks. I've seen that wheel issue before. Not sure what's causing it, I'd assumed it was a general bug. More express passenger stuff is in the works...

hey jk. thanks for another cracking little mod. it does make the early game better. just wanted to point out a bug with one of the mods. its the 2-8-0 freight loco, and possibly others. when you send them back to the depot or change routes, the drive wheels and motions stop working. its nothing game breaking, but thought you wouldf like to know. And a little request. some mainline mixed or express passenger locos after the star would be greatly appreciated. but no rush man. i understand your busy.
