Melbourne Public Transport

Description

A set of commonly found bus stops in Melbourne. They include variants that include directions to the nearest alternate type of transportation including metro trains, regional trains (vline) and trams. Also included the totem style that are used for stops with by the Smart Bus lines (ie. 900s). Strongly recommend the Melbourne Modern Tram Fleet by BadPeanut, the X'Trapolis Metro Melbourne and Vlocity V-Line Australia by benbanderas. Open to suggestions for buses that closely match Melbourne, but the closest that I have found is Enviro 200 KMB RHD by [MY] H4F1Z.

Asset Stats:
Main Mesh: ~70-80 Tris
Custom LOD Mesh: ~25-30 Tris

Main Textures: 512x256 with the totem, night bus and train replacement variants using 512x512
Custom LOD Texture: 64x32 with the totem using 64x64
Maps: Diffuse, specular, and colour

Notes:
Will be adding a set of Melbourne and Victoria regional style train stations. Will likely be doing a generic version as well as a pack of about 10-15 stations. For the named pack, open to any requests for real/fictional station names.

@fercho-2006, There's a mod that can replace the pre-made slots, but I haven't played in several months so I can't recall the name off-hand.

Hi, Thanks for it, but how can I use it?, When I place a bus stop, it is just the preset, not the ptv one.

@AMG_gåster47, glad you like it. I had originally meant station signs, but I am just starting work on Fairfield Station as that fits in closely to the Edwardian housing that I have been making so I have many of those textures ready that I am generally happy with. I had messaged a couple of creators on the workshop that had busses that were used in Melbourne, including the O405, but hadn't heard back. Rather than stealing their bus to reskin, I found a bus that I could find plans from multiple persepectives to aid in the creation and looked "close" to what is used in Melbourne. I am not likely to retexture another bus in the standard PTV livery anytime soon, but if you can convince a couple of creators who do, my source files are posted. I will do a Smart Bus, but it will likely be the Daewoo again due to convenience.

1. love this mod, its exactly what i needed
2. are you planning to do essendon station anywhere in the near future?
3. one of the most common buses in Melbourne is a Volgren bodied Mercedes-Benz O405

@🌮🥙🥓🍗🍟☕🍰🍩, I have only started modelling in Blender in December and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be after watching through a few YouTube tutorials and reading through some online guides. I had finished up these bus stops in a few hours in Photoshop, but imagine that you could do something similar in Gimp.

Hey this looks very similar to a californian bus stop sign. Too bad there's no one doing anything for our transport on here.

@Trinite, I think Southern Cross roof is too complicated to tackle easily. I am looking at trying to do a station along the Frankston line though in the near future.
