Faithful Cartographer: A few tips

A short guide on how to get this achievement

1- Start a new game

I recommend starting a new game. I had an old save with over 600 days started a year ago when this achievement was unobtainable because broken. After mapping everything i still couldn't get it. Some locations just wouldn't map (for example Stone Church and Abandoned Mine that connects Pleasent Valley to Coastal Highway).
Start a new game on the easiest difficulty and pick all the Feats you have.

2- Follow this list of locations closely

Follow this list of locations required for the achievement. You need to make sure to map everything listed on there. Copy the text in a word file and cross the locations you map as you progress.

3- The mapping process

- You dont need to map everything. When you discover the location, map it and move to the next one, Don't bother mapping the black spots where there is nothing. I'll post my maps below.

- If a location doesn't register when you map it, try again from a different angle. I had issues with Carter Hydro Dam Icon.

My save is bugged the same way.I have 0/212 locations mapped out but when i go to like specific regions and their locations all of them are checked.Devs said that 0/212 is just a visual glitch and it wont prevent u from getting the achievement but looks like it does.Any help?

Just because you map a location, does not mean you've hit a POI (Point of Interest) location trigger. Some of these triggers are quite small and require you to go to very specific areas, so make sure you actually get the text pop-up for the location's name before mapping. Also keep in mind if exploring at night/during poor weather, you can hit location triggers but cannot map.

As of 1.76+ the Journal shows an itemized list of each zone and each mapped location in each, and a "Force Reveal" button, which will show the names of unmapped locations in that region. This makes the Faithful Cartographer a lot easier and helps reduce much of the fuss in not knowing what is/isn't mapped.

i have every locations and icons you have (in fact i have a few more as well) only twm chasm cave doesn't appear as a text on map. only appears as an icon when zoomed in. and still didn't get achievement. i am not sure what to do about it. i spent more than 20 charcoal to map it from every possible angle.

@allurawillowwisp: If the cave has a SYMBOL of a cave on the map, then that symbol must be on the map.

just curious if you need the caves in each area mapped? for example in Forlorn muskeg there are caves near some of the radio towers
