WASD
binds you use because ur old hat anhd lame
ESDR
bind e +forward
bind d+back
bind s +moveleft
bind r +moveright
bind shift +speed
bind z +duck

Pros:
index finger posture
overall hand posture
more surrounding keys for miscellaneous binds

Cons:
Adjustment takes time
KZ Checkpoint Menu difficulty

Because ESDR is shifted slightly right from WASD, you must also shift whatever you have bound to 1234567890.
ie: 1(primary) becomes 2(primary). As far as I'm aware you cannot rebind the KZ checkpoint menu ingame.

I personally find the ESDR resting hand position to be more relaxing than WASD.
FRSP
Qwerty keyboard layout is obsolete. Colemak is objectively better. It places the statistically most used letters conveniently in the middle row for quick access, unlike qwerty which does the opposite by intentionally placing characters that are likely to be pressed after each other further apart. It was designed long before electronic keyboards existed, for the purpose of preventing typewriters from malfunctioning when two letter-stamp-strikers beside each other pressed in quick succession would cause them to become stuck. Colemak positions each letter so that your fingers travel less distance between keystrokes making it easier to achieve higher WPM.

FRSP on Colemak is exactly the same position as ESDR on qwerty.

If you wish to learn to type on Colemak then I suggest using this picture in the link below to help. Each color corresponds to which finger to use.

Please note that some games such as Quake Live lock your keyboard into Qwerty.
numpad keyboards
.
toxjq style
toxjq is a quake pro who split aiming and moving between hands

qwerty binds
bind "e" +attack
bind "mouse5" +attack2
bind "r" +moveright
bind "s" +moveleft
bind "mouse1" +forward
bind "mouse2" +back
bind "t" +reload
bind "shift" +speed
bind "z" +duck
bind "w" lastinv

colemak binds:
bind "f" +attack
bind "mouse5" +attack2
bind "p" +moveright
bind "r" +moveleft
bind "mouse1" +forward
bind "mouse2" +back
bind "g" +reload
bind "shift" +speed
bind "z" +duck
bind "w" lastinv

WASD equivalent
bind "w" +attack
bind "mouse5" +attack2
bind "d" +moveright
bind "a" +moveleft
bind "mouse1" +forward
bind "mouse2" +back
bind "r" +reload
bind "shift" +speed
bind "ctrl" +duck
bind "w" lastinv

pros:
it's rad
more relaxed aim (not pressing mouse down into your pad when holding mouse1 [especially if you use palm grip])
splits moving and aiming between both hands

cons:
these binds are more ideal for a game like quake and not CS mainly because it makes awping more difficult
takes some getting used to
sideways & hsw bhop are pretty much impossible
bind space +back
bind space +back

pros:
good for sideways bhop

if you use this instead of your usual +back bind then you no longer have to move your middle finger at all

your old +back key can now be used for something more important

can't be an epic nohat bhoper if you cant hold spacebar

maybe you'll actually git gud if you don't hold spacebar to do the epic mirage vent hop
cons:
none unless youre a p♥u♥s♥s♥y
bind mouse5 +voicerecord
pros: easily make calls
cons: can no longer use this key for triggerbot

bind ctrl +voicerecord
bind mouse5 +voicerecord

these 2 binds let you easily voice chat ingame with either hand
please eat food into thne microphone please
u are free to eat and micspam with either hand
left handed eater? right handed? no more excuses. eat into the microphone
it's easy now do it
cannot tell you how many times i crunched apples on mic
m_yaw
  • m_yaw changes your horizontal sensitivity
  • m_pitch changes your vertical sensitivity
I don't know why but m_pitch requires sv_cheats 1. M_yaw works instead. Use math equations to fine tune your y axis sensitivity with m_yaw and this calculator.
https://www.notalent.org/sensitivity/sensitivity.htm

USES OF M_YAW

Change it to .03 and use the calculator above to find your original horizontal sensitivity. This will make it difficult to position your crosshair badly on the y axis.

// spin (360 degree camera mode :^)
alias +spin "m_yaw 1000"
alias -spin "m_yaw <value that you play with>"
bind x "+spin; say ez spin so ez win"
If you want to have the spinning stop as soon as you shoot, use anything below that is underlined.

// Low Sens Recoil Control
alias +spray "+attack; sensitivity <recoil sens>; m_yaw <recoil value>"
alias -spray "-attack; sensitivity <your normal sens>; m_yaw <your normal value>"
bind mouse1 "+spray"

example
// Low Sens Recoil Control 800dpi
alias +spray "+attack; sensitivity .825; m_yaw .04"
alias -spray "-attack; sensitivity 1.1; m_yaw .03"
bind mouse1 "+spray"

You can edit these values to give yourself a high y axis sensitivity if you want to control all recoil with your wrist.

Like so:
// High Sens Recoil Control
alias +spray "+attack; sensitivity 1.83; m_yaw .018"
alias -spray "-attack; sensitivity 1.1; m_yaw .03"
bind mouse1 "+spray"

If you want to use m_yaw .03 for looking around and your original y axis sensitivity for spraying then use this:
// Original Y-Axis Sensitivity Spraying & m_yaw .03 for looking
alias +spray "+attack; sensitivity <original sens>; m_yaw .022"
alias -spray "-attack; sensitivity <new calculated sens>; m_yaw .03"
bind mouse1 "+spray"

// only x axis aim - limits your mouse movement to the x axis
alias +xaxis "+attack2; sensitivity .33; m_yaw .1"
alias -xaxis "-attack2; sensitivity 1.1; m_yaw .03"
bind mouse2 +xaxis
bind mouse4 +attack2
