Custom Face Skins

This is a guide showing you how to apply a custom face in ArmA 3 as this feature is poorly documented and not well known. This feature is also extremely buggy and doesn't function correctly sometimes. Thanks to Eutyches and MasterLobster for linking some templates and custom faces.

Creating/Downloading a Custom Face Image

There are 2 ways to get a custom face.

You could either download and edit one of these Templates[drive.google.com] in an image editor OR you could download a premade face from the internet. Here's a excellent example[i.imgur.com]

Important Notes:
✘ The image's resolution must be either 512 by 512 pixels or 1024 by 1024 pixels.
✘ The image MUST also be in the .JPG file format.
✘ The image file must be less than 100 KB.

Applying Your Custom Face In-Game

1. Rename you face image file to "face.jpg" (This is important)

2. Place your face image file in your arma 3 profile folder (C:\Users\Me\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\Profile Name) OR (C:\Users\Me\Documents\Arma 3) depending on whether you're using a custom profile or the default profile.

3. Launch ArmA 3 and press the profile button on the top right of the main menu.

4. Press the "Edit" button.

5. Under the "Face:" menu, select "Custom Face" and press "Apply"

and that's it.

Be advised that some servers don't allow custom faces so in order to join those you would have to de-select your Custom Face in the profile menu.

Anyone having issues may need to go to the images properties (Right click -> Properties | OR | alt + enter with image selected). Find a checkbox down the bottom in the security section and make a decision with the context available.

Is there a way to turn the face into a mod?

Is there a way to umm, get the faces from mods, and have them and wear them- while different people don't have these modss?- likee idkk how to steal a model from a mod, or if itd even work

@Submissive and Breedable the ToH Characters mod is probably your best bet, if you want women that are in the vanilla style. TCGM_Girls, Max_Women, and some other ones are there too, but they're a lot less Arma-esque.

i can't change hair in my custom face, what's wrong?
