Onslaught Overview
Onslaught is the new game mode on Blacklight: Retribution that puts your survival skills to the test. At times, it can be very hard, but you just have to play the way you are comfortable with. Remember, Onslaught is supposed to be a fun and cooperative game mode, not a competitive mode such as team deathmatch.
Weapons, Armor, and Equipment
Weapons

In Onslaught, you will often find yourself running out of ammo, and this is where the big guns would help. My recommendation is to use either the LMG or its more accurate variant, the LMG-R. These guns are very essential to your long term survival. A simple assault rifle will not help very much in higher rounds. As for the build of your gun, I recommend the fast reloading magazine, and low spread gun items, as it will allow you to land much more shots on your foe. Always stay away from guns like the sniper rifles or combat rifles as these will hamper your mobility and are not that great for spraying at a horde of enemies.

Armor

Armor plays an important role in your survival, both in Onslaught and in competitive modes. My recommended armor build is a high health build, as it will allow you to tackle more people without dying as quick as you would with a speed build, and let you have more gear slots for your equipment. You will end up using your HRV a lot to locate enemies, so if you shy away from the heavy armor build, try finding a helmet that will make your HRV last longer, or recharge faster.

Equipment

Your equipment is not as important, but will definitely help. In your tactical slot, I recommend using either the heal injector, or the revive injector. The heal injector will let you heal your teammates and yourself along with the ability to poison an enemy, while a revive injector will allow for rapid reviving incase a teammate falls. Either one is extremely helpful. In your four gear slots, I recommend that you have a high explosive grenade, a toxic grenade, a stun mine, and a machete or exploding tomahawk. This setup is an all-around enemy killer that will help you to succeed.
Strategies and Tactics
Strategies

In the beginning, the enemies aren't as harsh as they will be in later rounds. If you want to rack up some points and take a large horde head on, it is a great idea to lead them away from their spawn and try to line them up in somewhat of a straight line so that you can just aim down your sights and go for those headshots. You get 5 points for a kill, but you get 6 points for headshots. It is also very satisfying to me when you hear the headshot sound played over and over again. In the middle rounds, you want to start spending your CP on more expensive things in the depot. DO NOT GET A HARDSUIT! If you do, flamethrowers and stingers will kill you much easier than you think. I recommend getting either the flamethrower or minigun because it will allow you to kill multiple invaders that are in a close range of you. In the high rounds, you still want to use your CP, but you also want to play it safe. The last round is particualrly hard because there are three tank invaders that will charge at you very fast with brute force. Just make sure that you don't do anything dumb or get seperated from your team, and you will survive the onslaught.

Tactics

Running and gunning is a great way to survive much longer. Never stay stationary and keep as much distance between you and your foe as possible. Also, remember that the depot location changes almost every round and locate it on your HRV so hat you won't be running like a chicken with its head cut off. If you end up using an LMG or LMG-R, make sure that you aren't reloading after every kill, as it will make you more vulnerable to attacks. If you and your team want to stay somewhere and camp, I usually do it up the stairs near spawn, although this is not recommended as getting cornered is hard to get out of.
Conclusion
In conclusion, make sure that you are having fun. That is the most imprtant part of this game mode. If you are new to the game mode, try playing on the easy or medium difficulties so that you can get good practice in before you try hard or hardcore mode. I hope that my guide was educational and will help you survive the onslaught. Have any questions or comments? Leave them in the comment box and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. A nicely done guide. It has helped a lot with LMG being as the most useful weapon, even I'm just playing Onslaught only in BL:R.

we usually make a turret fortress, relentless drum mag ar,flame prex helmet, and a medium build, our team have: 1cloaker,1reviver,1 or 2 healer,1 repair (for turrets),if a team mate bought a hardsuit we usually destroy it or block some spawns for the zombies,we use a druma mage shotgun (max dmg),we have a grenade, exploding tomahawk (important for hordes),a melee weapon (breech hammer for me for giggles), stun shuriken and etc..we have a turret, trident, railgun or a katana or heavy weapon refill for the trident

The katana is definitely a great weapon for Onslaught. High mobility and damage make it great for all the enemy types. Thanks for pointing that out!
