Intro
THIS GUIDE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE "SAYA'S VIGIL", "THE WAR WITHIN" QUESTS AND FORTUNA CONTENT. IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THESE, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

While there seem to be a few guides on hunting Eidolons and Orbs, I've noticed none actually tread the topic of taking them down as efficiently as possible. To do this, you need to invest some time and resources into your Operator and Amp. Arcane rewards from Raids are being moved to the Gantulyst and Hydrolyst so I'd like people to be generally prepared for these fights rather than being dead weight in pubs. Same goes for the Profit-Takers on the Orb Vallis. Your Mote Amp will not carry you beyond the Teralyst nor scratch any enemies in normal play.
This guide contains information to help you reach peak performance as a Tenno warrior.

Unlocking Warrior Mode
To start your fight against the Eidolons, you'll first need to complete the "Saya's Vigil" quest as well as "The War Within" quest. Please do not attempt to engage in an Eidolon hunt until you have completed the directions in this section.
______________________________________________________________________________

After completing both quests, head to Cetus and make your way to the North-East part of the map. You should find a mysterious door that seemingly will not open for you at first.
Enter Operator mode and approach the door to have it allow you entry. Within the cave is a new syndicate, The Quills, offering everything you need to flourish in Warrior Mode. A cutscene will play the first time you enter this place and you'll be given a Mote Amp to start off with.
The Quills
A secretive order, loyal to the mysterious and reclusive 'Unum'. Some say their relationship to cause and effect is unnatural, their knowledge profane. When a Quill acts, things change.

Once inside, you can:
  • Preview Amp builds.
  • Exchange your Sentient Cores for standing.
  • Spend said standing on the ranks and gear in the following sections below.
  • Gild your Amps for stat boosts once they reach level 30. (Prisms do not grant Mastery until the Amp has been gilded. This includes the Mote Amp.).
  • Donate Amps you no longer need in exchange for Quills standing.

Intact Sentient Core
Exceptional Sentient Core
Flawless Sentient Core

Quills standing is earned through collecting Sentient Cores from Sentient enemies on the Plains of Eidolon.
  • Intact Sentient Cores grant 100 each. Drops from all Vomvalysts.
  • Exceptional Sentients Cores grant 500 each. Drops each time an Eidolon Synovia is destroyed.
  • Flawless Sentient Cores grant 1200 each. Drops upon successfully capturing an Eidolon via fully charged lures.
As of update Update 22.13.0, Sentient Cores will also drop from Conculysts, Battalysts, and Decaying variants which are found in a few places outside of the plains. They will drop either an Exceptional (25%) or Intact (75%) Sentient Core.

It should also be noted that 1 Eidolon triathlon (Teralyst, Gantulyst and Hydrolyst in a single night) can potentially net you up to 25k standing's worth of cores, more than what the majority of players can even redeem in a day. If possible, you may want to ask friends or clan members if they can carry you through this content at least once. Please do not try this in public parties.

Similar to the Arca Scisco. Can be charged up in Void Mode and extremely long range. Allows you to follow the fight and contribute damage at a safe distance. Will probably see more use when the flying variant of Eidolons is added.
Extremely similar to the Arca Plasmor. Penetrates through enemies. The best prism for fighting the Teralyst but falls completely flat against the Gantulyst and Hydrolyst. They are simply too tall and fast to reach with Shwaak. Also the most viable prism for fighting enemies outside of the Plains. Guaranteed impact proc that pairs well with Virtuos Fury. Can 1-shot groups of enemies up to level 50 before gilding. Aim for the head.
Can be charged within Void Mode. Fires three grenades (tripling the ammo cost per shot) that also deal splash damage. Does minor self-damage. Arguably the most efficient damage against the Gantulyst and Hydrolyst. High crit chance after gilding pairs well with Virtuos Strike.
Unsure if this has much use yet. Will report with findings soon.

Notes
It's basically Opticor. A nice and reliable charged beam that feels very natural to use. Has innate punch-through.
Guaranteed impact proc. Extreme self-damage if a shot is missed under the effects of Void Strike. Great for cleaning up Vomvalysts but you should not be using your Strike shots on anything but the Eidolons themselves. See the build section below for more details.
Homes in on targets and even goes through walls. An absolute godsend in Eidolon fights where so much visual clutter is on screen that you can't aim at Vomvalyst swarms by yourself. Not for use against the Eidolons themselves.
It also trivializes capturing Kuva clouds.
Fires EXTREMELY powerful discs that ricochet around the room at a high cost of energy. Seemingly little use in open-world areas like the plains, excels in smaller tiles.

An energy pool of 180 can be achieved with the Inner Gaze Way-Bound.
Decreases recharge time from 2 seconds to 1 second. Pairs well with the Pencha Scaffold due to regenerating energy as fast as you consume it.
The only choice if you plan on putting any effort into Way-Bounds or Arcanes.

The farm to unlock these may seem daunting at a glance, but in actuality takes no more than 15-30 minutes a day for a mere two months (as opposed to over a year for every single focus node in all schools) once you have the proper equipment to do so.

You will need:
  • Equinox or Banshee
  • Scoliax or a Polearm Zaw
  • 2 Eidolon Lens
  • Smeeta Kavat

Simply apply the Lens to your weapon and frame of choice and dash through Adaro, Sedna as fast as possible while keeping your Stealth Kill Affinity Bonus up. It takes 4-5 runs to reach your daily focus cap, but if you're lucky with your Smeeta can even achieve it in a single run. An affinity booster will help.

You can also cash in your Brilliant Eidolon Shards for 25k Focus each and Radiant Eidolon Shards for 40k Focus each, even if your daily standing is reached.

You'll want to set aside at least 10 Brilliant Eidolon Shards to unbind every Way-Bound passive.
Builds
Arguably the best combinations of Prism, Scaffold and Brace. Will be updated with more builds in the event new modular Amp parts are added to the game.

Notes
The ideal build for Teralyst hunts and combat outside of the Plains. Shwaak's beam will penetrate multiple body parts of the Teralyst if aimed correctly, shredding its shields in seconds. The Arcane should be up constantly due to the guaranteed Impact proc. It'll even carry you through Sortie 1.
This is not to be used on the Gantulyst and Hydrolyst fight however, as the range is too short to penetrate multiple body parts due to the Godzilla-like size and speed of them.

Scaffold

Virtuos Strike
Notes
It won't do you much good outside of Eidolon Hunts like the above build, but this setup here is the highest damage output against any Sentient guaranteed. You'll be doing insane damage against all three Eidolons haunting the plains with Virtuos Strike procs via the splash damage of the Granmu Prism. Klebrik is used to kill Vomvalysts as soon as they enter your field of view, chaining between them with almost zero effort. It's somewhat necessary as well given how little you can actually see in the chaos of the larger Eidolon fights.
Don't forget to bring an Adarza Kavat for more crit chance. RIP

Notes
The power to take down any Eidolon's shields in a matter of seconds with Madurai's Void Strike and Volt's Electric shield. Simply wait around in void mode for a few moments, line up some shields under the Eidolon's crotch and blast away with your alt-fire.
No one needs to carry the Shraksun Scaffold besides the party's Volt. Raplak seens no use currently, but I've included it in this build to future-proof it against the upcoming flying Eidolon.
F.A.Q.
A section I'll update over time as questions are asked in the comments and more content needs to be clarified. Please ignore for the time being.
____________________________________________________________________________

Q: I have the Way-Bounds I want unlocked, but which primary Focus school should I invest in for use during Eidolon bounties?

A: I recommend your party having a mix of three particular schools.
  • Your Volt should use Madurai with their Shraksun Scaffold in order to take out any Eidolons shields in a matter of seconds with Void Strike.
  • Your Trinity should use Zenurik to keep energy up for the whole group. Between that and spamming bliss every 20-30 seconds, this should be the most relaxed duty.
  • Your remaining two frames, whatever they may be, should use Unairu for the Unairu Wisp ability, granting a 100% amp damage boost to anyone that walks over your giant swarm of wisps following you around because of vacuum. It's more than possible to take out the Gantulyst and Hydrolyst's first shield phase from the lake shrine with this.

Need a clan?
Need a group to actually take down any of the Eidolons? Maybe you're new and just need some help in the game or access to clan research.
____________________________________________________________________________

Tenno on the Moon is a relaxed and casual clan that recruits active and friendly players. We were founded on the primary goal to ensure Warframe never feels like a job to players. Only by working together can we combat the grind, generally awful trading community and other aspects of poor game design. With over 150 members, our emphasis on remaining casual doesn't stop us from obtaining a spot in the top 100 leaderboard scores during clan events.
There are only two rules to keep in mind. One being that 30 days of inactivity gets you kicked for space unless a higher-up is notified you're taking a break. The second being that you're generally friendly if you plan on using the clan chat tab.
Our official forum clan can be found here[forums.warframe.com]. If you'd like to join, please join this page or leave a comment below and make sure you are not already in another clan so an invitation can be sent.

We also run an Alliance for any smaller, likeminded clans. While they serve little purpose at the moment, it's a good idea to join one in the event Dark Sectors return and any other bonuses the Kingpin system will offer. The Towers That B want you to be apart of our clan family.
Our official forum alliance can be found here[forums.warframe.com]. If you'd like to join, please request an invitation to this page and leave a comment below with your in-game name for further discussion.

Look forward to this guide being updated any time more content is added to Operator combat. I love documenting these sorts of things so I hope at least a few of you got some use out of it. I'm always planning on creating more guides for my favorite games, so feel free to subscribe if that might interest you for whatever reason.

hey i actually play on a really old pc that takes 20+ minutes to load into POE anyways is ostron standing required to rank up with the quills cause when loading onto POE from cetus it takes a really long time but for some reason when i go directly to POE from the navigation menu it takes under a minute so tl;dr is ostron standing required for quill standing?
