The Whole Kit(gun) and Kaboodle

A reference on the modular secondaries of Venus and how to find the perfect build for you. Like their melee counterparts, Kitguns rival and often surpass their premade predecessors (besides Mara Detron).

Intro
They're finally here. Modular secondaries and primaries to fine-tune into the best of the best. And they really are the best. Expect nerfs.
Like Zaws, Kitguns consist of three parts that you mash together into your own creation. It takes quite a bit of effort and resources to build what you want, but it's very rewarding to do so. I hope you're ready to turn your particle effect settings all the way up. Or all the way down.

You should keep this website[semlar.com] open as you go through this guide in order to see the details of my own builds or theorycraft builds of your own.
Zuud's Murderizers
A local tinkerer trading her wares in exchange for Solaris United standing. Here you will purchase and assemble your Kitgun parts. She is also the cutest character in the game.
______________________________________________________________________________

______________________________________________________________________________

Speaking to Rude Zuud allows you to:
  • Exchange Solaris standing for Chambers, Grips, Loaders and Pax Arcanes.
  • Preview Kitgun builds.
  • Gild your Kitgun for stat boosts once they reach level 30. (Chambers do not grant Mastery until the Amp has been gilded and leveled to 30 again.)
  • Donate Kitguns you no longer need in exchange for Solaris standing.
  • Rename Kitguns and non-Kitgun secondary weapons for a 15p fee.
  • Purchase a pre-built Kitgun with Platinum consisting of random parts that are shuffled daily.
Chambers
The first and most important part of your Kitgun. Determines the weapon and damage types. Grants Mastery after gilding.

Name

Catchmoon
Functions like a miniature Arca Plasmor. Innate Impact and Heat damage. A wide projectile bursts out and does AoE damage as it passes through or near enemies, making putting effort into aiming an afterthought. Does NOT deal extra Headshot damage but WILL proc abilities and arcanes based on Headshots.
Will often get caught on world geometry and waste the shot. Punch-Through mods will not function on this Chamber nor allow it to pass through objects as it should. It is not known if this is a bug or working as intended.
Damage falloff starts after 20 meters.
Gaze
A simple beam. Innate Puncture and Radiation damage. Like all beam weapons, it has the standard damage ramp-up time and cooldown. Because of this ramp-up you should always choose the magazine-based loader over the reload-speed choice.
Rattleguts
Spits out ammo like an energy-based version of a Grakata. Hitscan but the appearance of the bolts would fool you into thinking otherwise. Innate Radiation, Puncture and Slash damage. Impact damage also varies depending on the Grip used.
Tombfinger
Powerful blaster that has a 1m explosion radius on impact. Nice and reliable with the headshot-based arcanes and mods. Innate Impact, Puncture and Radiation damage.
Is actually a projectile so make sure to factor in travel time whilst aiming. Enemies the projectile passes by as it travels are affected by a thin AoE. Pairs nicely when dual-wielded with Glaive weapons. Affected by flight-speed mods. Has no damage fall off.
Grips
The second part of your Kitgun.

Arcanes
Arcane Enhancements exclusively for Kitguns that become available once reaching Old Mate rank with Solaris United. They are purchased for 10k standing each and come fully-built. Each have four ranks and rank-up when fused together with 1 / 3 / 6 / 10 of the same arcane.

HEADSHOT KILL
12.5% / 25% / 37.5% / 50%
Headshots increase Power Efficiency and Power Strength by
7.5% / 15% / 22.5% / 30%
on the next ability cast.
1s / 2s / 3s/ 4s
An absolute must-have when using frames with channeled abilities like Ember's World on Fire, Excalibur's Exalted Blade, Mesa's Peacemaker's and many others I'm sure come to mind. Just pop something in the head activate the ability. You will not keep the Efficiency boost after casting a channeled ability but the Strength boost WILL persist until the ability is deactivated. Great for general use as well. Slowva should immediately come to mind. Stacks additively with any other Strength or Efficiency mods.
Charge
PASSIVE
100%
Kitgun Magazine is replaced by bolts fueled by a recharging battery.
Delay is reduced by 12.5% / 25% / 37.5% / 50%.

Stacks additively with any other reload-speed mods. With timing, can abuse Synth Charge's +200% bonus damage on the final shot in the magazine. Nothing extraordinary, but someone might find it perfect for their playstyle.
Seeker
HEADSHOT KILL
25% / 50% / 75% / 100%
Headshots give a chance for 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 projectile(s) to burst from the target and seek the heads of nearby enemies.
N/A
This thing is truly insane with a powerful Kitgun. The projectiles that burst out from the initial headshot deal 50% Puncture and 50% Slash damage. Scales off damage mods once they land on another target. Damage falloff does exist if it has to travel far, but it's extremely negligible with powerful base damage.
Still great after the patch.
Soar
AIRBORNE

Being Airbone grants:
12.5% / 25% / 37.5% / 50% Accuracy
-12.5% / -25% / -37.5% / -50% Weapon Recoil
+1.3s / +2.5s / +3.8s / +5s Aim Glide/Latch Time

Zephyr's best friend. Next to a Moa companion with the Tractor Beam precept anyways. She turns into an absolute slaughterhouse when paired with a Moa and this arcane, floating in the air indefinitely when aiming and taking in all these buffs. Airborne-based Riven challenges are an absolute joke now.
Build Preface
Likely why you're here. I feel some points must be highlighted before you go on to use my builds or decide to theorycraft ones of your own.
______________________________________________________________________________
  • Nearly every build is similar. Without a Riven to fine-tune a build around, the system is generally safe and cookie cutter. You could see this as a good or bad thing. Hydraulic Crosshairs shows up often because you'll be aiming for the head when using Arcanes anyways. If you are not fond of headshots (in which you are crazy because these Pax Arcanes are the crown jewel of these systems), then try replacing it with Augur Pact, Sharpened Bullets or making it your designated Riven slot.
  • The theme here is crit as it has the most reliability in actual gameplay scenarios, and not bullying conga lines in the Simulacrum. The status Loaders will likely see more use in the event a pellet-based Chamber is ever added.
  • At a glance it is definitely obvious that the mixed Status/Critical Loaders are junk compared to the ones that give maximum Status/Crit. This is not the case when you have a Riven, allowing you to compensate for those Status/Crit stats or make up for Haymaker's fire-rate.
  • When it comes to choosing the maximum Status/Crit mods, the choice between Magazine and Reload speed is a personal choice in every case but Gaze (you want more Magazine to burn through for the damage ramp-up mechanic). I personally opt for the Reload Speed option for more chances of proccing Arcane Awakening. It helps that I make a habit out of reloading whenever I'm out of sight.
  • The innate Radiation damage they all share is really nice. If you aren't fond of any of the dual-stat combos, go ahead and swap them with Primed Heated Charge and Convulsion.
  • If you're really really enjoying Kitguns as much as I am, I can't stress how well a few frames pair with them. Harrow, Mesa, Mirage and Rhino all synergize extremely well with any of the builds below.
  • On top of the above frames, Zephyr is a great choice all around for Fortuna content. The Jet Stream augment mod for Turbulence really helps the travel time of every projectile-based Chamber. Pair that with the Pax Soar arcane and the Tractor Beam precept for Moa companions and Zephyr becomes a floating storm of projectiles wherever you aim.
  • Aim for the head.

Broken. Absolutely broken. The most damage-heavy Kitgun you can build and is only amplified once Pax Seeker's fireworks go off. Make sure always be aiming for the head. I personally use Killstream for more Arcane Awakening procs but Splat will give a 2% bonus to Status Chance. No idea if that's a bug or not.

Point it at a head and it's dead once charged with the beam ramp-up. Go with a slower fire-rate Grip if you can compensate with Harrow or a Riven. Flexible with any Arcane, but I personally use it as a tool for Pax Bolt in casual play.

Notes
Personal preference. Pretty fond of this with the Synth set, using the ammo recharge from Pax Charge to repeatedly spam the last piece of ammo in a pew-pew fashion and abuse Synth Charge (replaces Hunter Munitions. No icons for it yet.) If you need to ramp-up again just swap to your primary and swap back. Drain your primary fire while you're at it and it'll be back to full the next time you repeat the process. Highly suggest Lenz so you can blow all six shots before going back to your Kitgun.

What I feel should be the standard for casual use.If you're shooting at it, it isn't going to get any time to shoot back. Pairs perfectly with the whole "Zephyr+Moa+Pax Soar" thing I've been talking about this whole time. Puts Akstiletto Prime out of a job.

Same mod build as above but with different parts. For use with Harrow only. That, and/or a riven. Spritz anything with just a third of the clip and it's gone as well as any enemies around it once Seeker procs. Once again, I prefer Killstream for Arcane Awakening.

Notes
Loader choice is actually pretty lax here. So long as you're aiming for the head you are good. This thing is built for maximum power but you can't go wrong with Lovetap either if the slow fire-rate doesn't feel fluid enough for you with Lethal Torrent.
Aim for the guy in the back of the crowd. There's a weird AoE AROUND the projectile as it travels, so it helps stagger and apply status to anything it grazes along the way to it's target. Pax Seeker will clean them up for you.
If you are sick of headshots at this point, replace Hydraulic Crosshairs with Seeker for punch-through. It helps spread out the weird AoE as it travels into a crowd as well as benefiting Mag's Magnetize.
F.A.Q.
A section to be updated over time as questions are asked in the comments and more content needs to be clarified.
____________________________________________________________________________

Q: Can you get MR from Kitguns?

A: Yes. The Chamber is the part that grants MR. An assembled Kitgun must be leveled to 30, gilded, and leveled to 30 again before it will give you Mastery.
____________________________________________________________________________

Q: Can I get Rivens for Kitguns?

A: Yes. Like Zaws, they are in a hidden drop-pool that did not exist before the Fortuna update. Any Veiled Pistol Rivens that existed before the Fortuna update have ZERO possibility of being unveiled as a Kitgun Riven.

The odds for Riven drops in Sorties are as follows:
Melee Riven Mod - Rare (8.14%)
Pistol Riven Mod - Rare (7.61%)
Rifle Riven Mod - Rare (6.79%)
Melee Riven Mod (Zaw) - Rare (2.00%)
Pistol Riven Mod (Kitgun) - Rare (2.00%)
Shotgun Riven Mod - Ultra Rare (1.36%)

All Kitgun Riven dispositions are 3/5 ticks.
____________________________________________________________________________

Q: Will there ever be modular Primary weapons?

A: It's extremely likely. The initial concept art shown off at Tennocon 2018 shows a number of Primary-based Grips for Kitguns. It was also brought up in a recent devstream.

This guide will obviously be updated with more information on them if any at all comes to light.

Tenno on the Moon is a relaxed and casual clan that recruits active and friendly players. We were founded on the primary goal to ensure Warframe never feels like a job to players. Only by working together can we combat the grind, generally awful trading community and other aspects of poor game design. With over 250 members, our emphasis on remaining casual doesn't stop us from obtaining a spot in the top 100 leaderboard scores during clan events.
There are only two rules to keep in mind. One being that 30 days of inactivity gets you kicked for space unless a higher-up is notified you're taking a break. The second being that you're generally friendly if you plan on using the clan chat tab.
Our official forum clan can be found here[forums.warframe.com]. If you'd like to join, please join this page or leave a comment below and make sure you are not already in another clan so an invitation can be sent.
Steam Group can be found here.

We also run an Alliance for any smaller, likeminded clans. While they serve little purpose at the moment, it's a good idea to join one in the event Dark Sectors return and any other bonuses the Kingpin system will offer. The Towers That B want you to be apart of our clan family.

On your Synth Charge build, did you mean replace Hydraulic Crosshairs with Synth Charge? Since Hunter Munitions is a primary mod, why is it even mentioned in a Kitgun guide, this just completely confuses the hell out of me :fscared:
