Hello, and welcome to my first seriuos Steam guide.

This guide is replacement for the Steam discussion thread that contained the information regarding how to change game's language.

This guide will help you translate your game into English in case of having the game region locked in other language or any other reason. While the guide is aimed to have game running in English, the methods explained here can be used to loacalize game in any other language, but you will need to get that language files yourself.

The guide contains 3 parts:

1) 1st time setup
2) Update localization
3) Advanced steps / Troubleshooting

This guide will be updated with files for entire life span of siege, with files being uploaded about 24h after major update, unless stated otherwise

1) 1st time localization

Step 1:
Download all the files from dropbox.[www.dropbox.com]

Step 2:
Open your game files.

This can be done by either:
1) Locating them manualy (default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege)
2) Using Steam's "Open game files option"



Step 3:
Replace localization.lang file in main folder.
Note: If you want to be able to revert to your original language, you should make a backup of the original file.

Step 4:
Copy all .pck the files to sounddata -> pc folder
Note: English and other languages files can co-exist in this folder, in case you would want to switch back to your original language.

Step 5:
Change game language in-game
Notes: I'm not really sure about this step and it's neccesity. If you can, please leave feedback down in the comments about this step.

2) Update localization

Ranbow 6 Siege is the game that is constantly being developed, as so, new updates roll out once in a while. In most of the major updates, (and sometimes during mid-season reinforcment patches) new voices lines might be added and you will need to update the sound files.

Step 1:
Download new the files from dropbox.[www.dropbox.com]

Note: Sort files in the folder to see the new one on top



Step 2:
Open your game files.

This can be done by either:
1) Locating them manualy (default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege)
2) Using Steam's "Open game files option"



Step 3:
Copy new .pck the files to sounddata -> pc folder
Note: English and other languages files can co-exist in this folder, in case you would want to switch back to your original language.

3) Advanced steps / Troubleshooting

Sometimes, the the basic language change method does not work, and more advanced changes are required. However, be cautious, as any mistakes in this step can cause seriuos damage to your computer.

These are not 100% guaranteed to work, and do not work together, so you should revert one if you want to try another.

Follow these steps only if method above does not work after PC restart

Fix #1 :

Step 1:
Open your game files.
This can be done by either:
1) Locating them manualy (default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege)
2) Using Steam's "Open game files option"



Step 2:
Open streaminginstall.ini in any text editor




Step 3:
Swap the number values of English and English playgo rows with your current language code.
To get the code you want, use the list provided below.
Note: playgo files use language code + 1

• English: 1
  
• French: 3
  
• Italian: 5
  
• German: 7
  
• Spanish: 9
  
• Mexican: 11
  
• Brazilian: 13
  
• Japanese: 15
  
• Russian : 17

Example:
If your have is in Russian language
Change the following values at the middle of the file:

• sounddata/pc/sounds_rus_playgo.pck=1
  
• sounddata/pc/sounds_rus.pck=2
  
• sounddata/pc/sounds_eng_playgo.pck=17
  
• sounddata/pc/sounds_eng.pck=18

Fix #2:

Step 1:
Open Windows Registry Editor
You can do so by opening Run window by either:

• Using WIN+R hotkey
  
• Right clicking Start button and selecting run option

Once you have it open, type in regedit and press "Run"




Step 2:
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ubisoft\Rainbow Six - Siege

Step 3:
Change desired language values to 1 (English), or your language code.
The language codes are as follows:

• English: 1
  
• French: 3
  
• Italian: 5
  
• German: 7
  
• Spanish: 9
  
• Mexican: 11
  
• Brazilian: 13
  
• Japanese: 15
  
• Russian : 17

Note: If you want to switch back to your original language, please make sure you are using the Decimal base.

I resolved the problem, I just copied rus and put eng and changed numbers

I have LABEL problem too. Doesn't change in-game voice, but texts are ok.

#Fix2 didn't work for me too.
Not quite understand how should I do #Fix1 - I don't have any "sounds_eng" lines. Tried to swap all rus to eng - didn't work too.

Doesn't change in-game voice: the line says LABEL and is unresponsive, while in-game voices are still not english. Works for text and UI though.
