Help! I have been banned

I receive the error "EAC banned" when attempting to join a server - what does it mean?
This message indicates that your account has been banned by the EasyAntiCheat system for cheating. The account cannot be used anymore to play the game.

All EAC bans are permanent - EasyAntiCheat has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and will not lift EAC bans on request. If a round of EAC bans is determined to have been issued incorrectly, they will be automatically reversed by our servers. Creating a Support ticket will not cause your ban to be removed.

EAC bans apply to the account even if it was hijacked at the time

The EAC ban cannot be removed regardless of who was using your account at the time it was banned. While we understand this can be frustrating we must have a zero tolerance policy for cheating to foster a fair game that players will enjoy. In order for a zero tolerance policy to be effective we must hold users responsible for the security of their account.

The details of the ban will not be provided
We will not disclose the cheats that were detected while connected to a EAC secured server. We have detailed records for each EAC ban; however releasing this information will only benefit cheat developers. The EAC team is continuously investigating EAC bans when users claim them to be false.

EAC bans are issued on a delay
When a cheat is detected, EAC issues a ban on the account for a future date. You do not need to be online at the time for this ban to take effect.

Your account may still be used to play single-player games and multiplayer games on insecure servers
Your account may still be used to play single-player games or to connect to insecure game servers and for games played over a LAN. To find insecure servers, please change your filter settings in the server browser list to show servers which are not EAC-secured.

NOTE: Most EAC secured games do not have insecure servers, unless community hosted.

Steam Game Ban

Being banned from EAC secured games —purchased through Steam— will result in a Game Ban status being added to your Steam profile. This has the same impact as a VAC ban status. Games cannot be moved from an EAC banned account to other accounts. You can still register and purchase new games on an EAC banned account. If you receive a ban for a game that has in-game items, your items cannot be transferred to a different account.

Game integrity violations

If you get an error message describing an integrity violation while in the game, your current game session has become untrusted. Multiplayer sessions will not be available in this state until the game has been restarted from desktop.

Corrupted memory

The in-memory game code was detected to have been corrupted. This error is very rare and can occur if the physically installed RAMs are defective and causing runtime memory corruption.

Check that your game installation is up-to-date.

Use a memory test tool, such as MemTest86, to check the condition of the installed RAM.

Corrupted packet flow

Try joining to another multiplayer session with low latency.

Check that your game installation is up-to-date.

Forbidden system configuration

This violation is triggered if e.g. the Windows Kernel Patch Protection has been disabled or a forbidden modification is found in the Windows Kernel. This error is a strong indicator of a rootkit virus infection and we recommend running a full system anti-virus scan or reinstalling Windows.

Forbidden tool

A hacking tool running in background.

Check that there are no unknown programs running with the Windows Task Manager. Restarting Windows will also ensure that any previously started hacking tools are fully unloaded in the system.

Internal anti-cheat error

A hack attempt to the anti-cheat core was detected. This error should never occur under normal conditions.

Check that your game installation is up-to-date.

Missing required file

Outdated game version or manually deleted game file on disk.

Unknown file version. Outdated game version or modified game files on disk.

Unknown game file

An unknown file that is not part of the game installation was found to be loaded from the game directory.

First close the running game and then delete the file inside the game directory. After deleting the file you may start the game again.

Untrusted system file

The game loaded a system dll that failed an integrity check. This error indicates a system level corruption.

In most cases this can be fixed by running the following command with Adminstrator rights:

sfc /scannow

Alternatively, this error may indicate a virus infection in the system and we highly recommend running a full anti-virus system scan.

Addionally, make sure that all available updates have been installed through Windows Update.

Installing and Repairing the EasyAntiCheat Service

The EAC service is installed automatically when the game is installed. If you are encountering any error related to the EAC service, please use the EAC setup program to repair the service.

Locate the EAC setup program in the game installation directory under "EasyAntiCheat/EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe". Run the EAC setup program and choose "Repair Service" at the bottom left corner to reinstall the EAC service and fix possible errors.

Uninstalling the EasyAntiCheat Service

The EAC service is uninstalled automatically together with the game. However, if you wish to manually remove the EAC service, you can use the EAC setup program to do so.

Locate the EAC setup program in the game installation directory under "EasyAntiCheat/EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe". Run the EAC setup program and choose "Uninstall" at the bottom left corner to remove the EAC service from the system.

Installation errors

If the EasyAntiCheat setup program fails to install the service, an error message is displayed under the "Install" button. The error message contains the System Error Code of Windows inside brackets.

Below is listed the possible errors that the setup program may encounter:

Copying service executable failed (32)

This error occurs if another program in the system is holding a lock to the EAC service executable that is copied into the system32 folder. To fix this, try closing any open programs and using the EAC setup again. If the problem persists, restart Windows once and before opening other programs use the EAC setup to install the service.

AddGameRegistryEntry failed

CreateService failed (5)

GrantAllUsersAccessToService failed

The EAC setup was denied access to install the service. To fix this, try running the EAC setup as Administrator by right clicking the program icon and choosing "Run as Admin". If the problem persists, the error could be related to an anti-virus blocking the operation. In this case, check that the anti-virus is up-to-date and try adding the game directory into the anti-virus exceptions list

Multiplayer issues

Host or peer validation failed

If you are unable to host or join any multiplayer sessions, most likely your game client is outdated and needs to be updated. If you are only unable to join sessions hosted by specific player(s), it may be that their game client is outdated or their game account is banned by the game network.

Kicked: EAC Disconnected

Being kicked from a game server with 'EAC Disconnected' message indicates a client-side connectivity issue with your PC and the EasyAntiCheat network. EasyAntiCheat uses a standard HTTP connection to client.easyanticheat.net:80. Ensure that your anti-virus and/or firewall software is not blocking the connection to this DNS address.

When using Steam, always launch the game through Steam and not directly from the game directory. Otherwise the game may start without anti-cheat protection, thus failing to authenticate with game servers.
