The Reckoning Third Stage: Scavenger and Cannibal Guide
Por Hairboy523
The Reckoning is a vast mod taking place decades after a zombie outbreak. Now for most of those left they are either Scavenging the ruins or hunting down those who do for their next meal. This guide will cover more deeply those sorts of playthroughs rather than the general guide given before. Also some previews and background of various major factions will be given in the future as well...

Welcome To Your Reckoning

[Me before ]

Mornin, my name is Ammon The Confessor. Armed with my Sawed Off Shotgun of the spirit I enact vengence upon the Unholy. I'm happy to be the first to welcome you to our little happy hell. I was a Security Guard before things toppled over and now I wander the wastes looking for any meaning left in the daily mindless massacre. I'll teach you how to handle yourself a bit better and give you an idea of what the world looks like now.

And then...I became something I could have never imagined...
Character Creation And Quick Tips

Considering the high lethality of the mod including wounds and death. I would recommend turning down your personal damage in half to 50% in the screen options. Also be sure to have your U and K buttons unused. M also makes you crouch, this is important for taking cover and therefore not getting shot in the face.

As U is used to get your men OUT of cover:

  • First by selecting them with 1 or whatever number they are marked as...
  • Then simply clicking U.

STARTING
In the start depending on if you plan to be a Commander or enlist in an army should affect your choice of character greatly. Strength and agility are the most commonly affected when you are downed in battle while Charisma is not. Therefore it is smarter to be a commander or use a scoped rifle.

Now also it's best to start out with a trusty companion above all else. Just be sure to NOT send them on any missions as they may not return. In depth beginer tips and general info is listed in the previous guide if you are looking more for that.

BUY A GAS MASK

In any larger conflict between factions like the Brotherhood, there is bound to be chemical weapons involved. If you don't have a mask you will go down. It doesn't matter if you attempt to flee from the gas it will get you. So the best bet is to buy a gas mask as soon as possible.

Now in smaller conflicts outside of factions, it is very rare to come across this unless you come across some BioTech deserters wandering about who carry those weapons.

YOU GET WHAT YOU KILL

Your loot is closely related to who you are fighting. Sometimes you'll even come across high value items after killing particularly hard troops. So think about that when deciding your battles.

At level 10 or 11, you can take hostile actions toward settlements, such as looting for suppies and rounding up slaves.
Scavenging Points Of Interest - Where are the best pickings?

Across the map are many locations that you or your men can scavenge(at level 5). Be aware that for now as of 1.9 if you are downed you will not be wounded or killed in them. However, your ammo is finite and used up if you use your gun. If you do it yourself you will earn about 20% more money and gain XP for zombies killed.

Where is best? Go West...

Not all locations are equal. Some will turn up nothing while others can earn you hundreds. In my experience the Western Coastlines seem best. Since central ones are commonly looted and those in the Badlands and Wastelands in the far east and south are usually quite poor. Then you can trade resources for more scavengers or ammo. Also there are many slow zombie hordes that can be outrun, in contrast of the fast motorcyle riding Raiders in the Eastern Mountain passes.

Scavenging

It's best to do it yourself as sometimes you find more than is listed. However, if you are time pressed or too indigant to do so. There are various options.

  • 1. Do it yourself
  • 2. Pay your men beforehand to search for you and bring them to you. (At level 5)
  • 3. Force your men to search. (level ten or 100 fame?)

Either at level 11 you can take hostile actions and force your men to scavenge.

Or at level 11 you can have your men loot and enslave for a loss of honor. Slaves are worth 20 each.

BUYING

In the points is usually a loner hanging about somewhere. They at best can sell cheap food such as grain, fruit, and bread for less than 10 is a good price. Even as low as three for grain which is good for producing Ale at a Brewery for greater profits. While some others sell weapons and ammo, most of all in the southernmost areas where Orion Raiders are common.

Fighting Hordes?

Killing zombies is a great way to gain your men experience without losing many...unless they overun you. But overall I wouldn't recommend taking on a group more than twice your size. Last tip, be sure they are not only partially infected, as they are still able to use guns in that state which is very dangerous.
A Civil Cannibal

A common sight in todays society are cannibals wandering about. Some will attack on sight while others are civil enough to even trade with you, if you are civil toward them that is. Here are some tips if you wish to pursue such a path:

  • After many battles you will get human flesh from your fallen foes.(not zombies) Also, it is highly valued. Everyone is edible!
  • You can buy it from some groups of cannibals.
  • Also cattle can be paid for and butchered if you have a meat emergency.

What could be a quick yet profitable way of killing would be to target weaker scavengers. Who travel along certain routes and then progressively target bigger groups like conveys and you could even begin to build outposts and patrols to aid you in this task.

Isolated settlements can be good places to start if you wish to take less risks. Just be sure to keep friendly relations with some factions. At least until you have a base that includes merchants once it's upgraded to the highest level.(Don't build them on highways btw)

JOIN THE CANNIBALS

Should you wish to join with like minded patrons. Then deep in the villainous valley is a cult of cannibals with a stronghold and a lone king. Go to them and convince them to strike and together perhaps you could even in time threaten Wastetown or the church itself!
Guns Guns Glorious Guns! (And some other things)
A list of a small amount of the weapons I've seen available thus far as an example of what kind of stuff you can use to fight in the mod. However, there are far more than are mentioned here so it's useful to check the arms dealer in each city.

A Fractured Nation
No one could have predicted the amount of groups that would spawn from the fall. A new Confederacy, Theocracy, and everything in between now lays claim to areas of the new world. Here is the list of factions that have divided up the world.

Major Factions - In the west.

  • US Army
  • The New Confederacy
  • The Aryan Brotherhood
  • The Church Of Our Savior
  • The Bennet Clan
  • Orion Raiders

Minor Factions - Clans and isolated communities in the east and south

  • Dead City
  • Woodbury
  • Crater Miners
  • Cannibals
  • The Ghost Clan
  • The Jackal Clan
  • Wasteland Marauders
  • The Great Khans
  • Gears Raiders

And one more independent town who’s name I can’t recall yet.
WAIT, I finally remembered. The Hagar Settlement.
Music For A Mad World - Custom Made Spotify Playlists

This is over ten hours of hand picked music of mine in the "The Reckoning: Hail the Apocalypse" playlist on spotify. Made up of the most intense Nhilist Metalcore and Christian Metalcore combined to sum up the extreme divide in The Reckoning. Also there is some dark instrumental themes that keep with the sardonic apocalyptic atmosphere.

https://open.spotify.com/user/josh42392/playlist/5jt9wPhsZUScWkZssI8a56

If you wish for a dark intense purely Cultic Playlist then please give a listen to my handpicked music below. Since the mod itself only has a couple songs and the same few thrashing metal songs eventually wears on ya. These are both around ten hours of music and I'm always tweaking it to be ever more perfected for the mood. The playlist below is called DARK AGES GAMING MUSIC.

If you wish to be inspired toward a higher ideal, the cause of Christianity and The Glory Of God. Then draw your sword and charge while listening to the playlist below called FOR GLORY!

Death Isn't The End

Some spirits are so strong they linger on. I remember the fateful day as I fought a final stand to defend the Church Of Our Savior. Then the world went black, a bullet through the head and death embraced chillingly as the killing went on until I was the last one left. I knew my time was not yet over, I held a Spirit Mask in my hands and put it upon my skull...the lord hath resurrected me to take his vengence against these butchers. Now, I raise my army to fight again even as my spirit grows weaker by the passing day.

And then I took on a new name...

So in short, it means your fighting skills and ability to handle higher weapons and armor are highly degraded. Along with your health since your S and A drop to zero but your I and C are not affected. This gives you the ability to go on in this weakened form or accept your death and start a new game.

How to Download Mods

Yes this guide is for a mod of Mount And Blade Warband. This is how you would install it if this is your first time.

Winrar
This is a program I use to unpack the mods. Download link below but don't risk it if you don't trust it. http://www.win-rar.com/start.html?&L=0

How:

1. Download the mod you want to install. ...
2. Extract the files. ...
3. Copy extracted files to Warband's Modules folder. ... (This pc, local disk (C:), program files (x86), Steam, Steamapps, common, MountBlade Warband, Modules) - (drag and drop them into the right folder)

Start Mount and Blade: Warband and check the Modules drop-down box for the mod you installed.

Patching

In the event you ever are asked to install a patch this is how.

1. Simply go into the module file location(wherever that is).
2. Then highlight and drag the patch files over to the folder and drop it in.
3. Then you should be asked if you want to 'Copy And Replace' say YES. Then you'll likely be asked if you want to 'Merge Folders' say yes again to all of them.

If it doesn't ask you to do this, then you did something wrong.

You speak to the mayors within cities and there can offer resources for regular people or riflemen.
Zhoonrool 19 set. 2020 às 16:27
Im still not understand how to convert resource from POI into Troops.
Baldwin IV 26 ago. 2019 às 13:36
Yeah.. i see.
Hairboy523  [autor] 26 ago. 2019 às 13:35
Oh yeah it's much much better. For instance you can trade resources for ammo. Each faction group has their own ammo type they trade.

I just noticed that for some reason i had an outdated version of the Mod. Thanks for the help i'll check it out with the 1.90 version

To quote myself: "You can have up to two camps, this is done by going into the camp menu and clicking on take action.

Here you can place troops and prisoners and even stockpile a stash for later. This has a wide range of uses most of all for raiding.

They cost one hundred to build and a companion to govern it.

Outposts

You can also construct two outposts. But only one can be upgraded into a literal Fort after a few upgrades. Most impressively, once you have a Fort you will attract merchants and thus have your own independent base of operations on the map.

Just like Negan in the Walking Dead, you too can build up outposts full of blood thirsty men. These include the following:"

I mention it in my main guide. You can build two Outposts. One can be upgraded into a de facto fort. I use the 1.90 download.

Oh..i dint even know they were any upgrades. Like the upgrade option wasn't shown either i mean maybe i have a diffrent version of the game?
Hairboy523  [autor] 26 ago. 2019 às 11:15
@Eden You have to upgrade them a couple times to reach that point. Then you get merchants.
Baldwin IV 8 ago. 2019 às 13:42
I simply dont have any option on building a fort instead of outposts. I cant find out why
