Changing the resolution
To change the resolution you'll have to go to the main folder of the game:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\World of Goo\properties\config.txt
In Linux, the path is .steam/steam/SteamApps/common/World of Goo/properties/config.txt/(credit to publickeybitcoingraphy)
Open the config.txt and edit these 2 lines (no, your computer will not explode):

<param name="screen_width" value="800"/> <param name="screen_height" value="600"/>

Just change the both numbers to you desired resolution, like this:

<param name="screen_width" value="1680"/> <param name="screen_height" value="1050"/>
Windowed Mode
In Windows/Linux, just press Alt+Enter in game to change between windowed mode and full screen.
In MacOX, press it Command+F

the game broke, it used to have at least 60 Hz, and now it's 17-20 fps... it's horrible

When I do this, the Continue button appears off the screen and I am unable to continue to the next stage. How do I fix this?

strange that they went with all that effort for windowed mode yet kept it as a secret feature instead of putting into like the main menu or something like that

If people want the updated location of where the config.ini file is you can open the main directory file in \steamapps\common\World of Goo of where you installed the game and there is a readme.html file that you can open in your browser or wordpad that tells you where it now is.

For people of today coming here and being confused, the devs updated the game sometime after this was written and now this guide is no longer accurate. Sorry.
