This is not only sketch art book, but a hint book. Instructions on how to do the tasks in each location. If you are stuck and don't know how to continue, opening the book in that location tells you what to do.

Also almost all places where you can get a "hidden" achievement are marked in the book with the same symbol that marks the achievements page in the menu.
