Startup crash fix for Dark Souls 3

Crash

Hey DS3 players, when i bought the game i was getting a crash when i started it up, but after some minutes i finally found a fix.

Drivers

First of all you're going to see if your graphic card's drivers are updated, go to Geforce Experience and update it, if you're an AMD user search for updates on the AMD softwares.

Dark Souls 3 Folder

Second step is to acess Dark Souls 3 folder
Library > Right-Click Dark Souls 3 > Properties > Local Files > Browse local files.

Properties

Now right click the Dark Souls 3 executable > Properties > Compatibility > Check "Run this program in compatibility mode" > Select Windows 7 (if you're using Windows 8 or higher) > Check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"

Done

Now click "Apply" and launch the game, when the window appears Alt+Tab the game window for some seconds and then switch to the game window again, if it still crashes, try again.
It's not a permanent fix, every time you lauch the game you'll have to do the Alt+Tab thing.

Worked for me, thank you. Fullscreen Optimizations was indeed the culprit. It's surprising that it is not suggested on DS3 pcgamingwiki page.

I selected Windows 7 then I cIicked apply, but it wont let me select the options.
