Read Skill Books whenever you want

Description
Skill books are great. What is not so great about them is, that they get more useful, the higher your skills are.
That means that you need to hoard every skill book until you reached 95 in its respective skill.
For me it felt like a waste to read a skill book with a skill level of anything below 90 (because why increase your restoration skill at rank 25 where you only need to cast 20 healing spells in comparison to the gajillion times you need to cast a spell to raise the skill from 99 to 100?)

To counter this problem I added a simple script to every skill book which gives a faster progression to its respective skill.
There are 5 different skill books for every skill and each adds a permanent 6% increased skill progression (per unique book type) to it. The bonuses are added additively. So if you read all 5 skill books of restoration, your restoration skill will progress 30% faster than usual.

These "learning effects" are just an addition to the usual skill increase you get from every skill book, but now you will not be punished for reading a skill book early.

Note: The effect is not retroactive which means you will have to read the skill books you already read all over again to get the benefits. (Additional note: You get a message while reading a book you already read after this mod was activated)

A script was added to every skill book in the game so this mod may conflict with any mods that alter those books directly.

Works with Vanilla Skyrim aswell as with the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLCs

Thank you all for your support and ideas, but I am afraid I have to delay the update I planned. I have a lot of other work to do, so please be patient for another week.

Thank you, looking forward to it

@Edward Howton, yes, that is intended so the skill books are still useful when you find them with your skill at 95 or something.
@sorceresses_rule, the boost should remain, even though I didn't do much testing with the newest version yet. But it should work anyway.
I like the idea to show the message only when getting the boost. I will add that along with the dynamic tracking of the already acquired boosts as soon as I have the time for finishing it. You can expect it arount next week or so.

hi.. um... I have lvel 100 enchanting so when i read an unread enchanting skillbook I don't get the boost, but would I still get the learning boost in case I wanted to make the skill legendary and so reduce the skill to 15?

ahh you put in a message for reading a skill book more than once.. could you change that to pop up when we get the boost instead... or as well as...

Simple question: are the skillbooks supposed to give you the normal +1 on top of the added bonus?

This is a very interesting change to skill books. I like the idea.

@ben_retter Yes, but I need to switch some things up and don't have much time at the moment so I will probably need one or two weeks until I have the time to finish the update.

Would you be able to make it appear on the active effects on the magic menu?
Paradux  [author] Mar 20, 2013 @ 3:10pm
Yeah, you are right. It will most likely work if you receive the respective numbers. There is a very slim chance that it does not work though.
I am working on a better way to check which books you read and if the bonuses are working.

The console command just tells you which books you've read but not whether or not I am receiving the bonuses of 6,12,18,24 or 30% faster levelling. Does this mean the mod isn't working for me?
