[Legacy] Christmas Presents! - 2017 Witch It event

[This guide was designed to help unlock 2017 holiday achievements.
Those achievements have since been removed from the game's achievement list, but it appears you can still find the hidden presents in the holiday versions of the map.]

This guide reveals the location of all 13 Christmas Presents, for the following seasonal achievements:
- All you ever wished for
- Cute and diligent
- I came here from the forest

I highly recommend spending some time searching for these on your own or with friends before looking up the locations; I did this with friends, as well as meeting new people on the forum, in public lobbies, and on the official Discord server, and I had a BLAST over the last ~4 days. But.. I recognize that not everyone has a lot of free time to play videogames, let alone hours upon hours of searching for hidden items in one game, and that they want to be able to collect the limited-time items before they're gone.

So make the best decision for yourself. Either way, I hope you enjoy this holiday event, as well as this game as a whole, as much as I have!

Intro & Quick Reference

1) Presents can only be collected in Official Servers. You can still find presents in custom servers and transform into them, but you won't get collection or achievement credit for them this way.

2) Please note that Presents do not show up on *every* prop-variant of a map. So you may load into Snowbreeze and get a layout that contains zero of the four potential presents.

3) The only thing you must do to "collect" a present is to transform into it when you are a Witch. This includes the spell Possess, as well as standard transformations, however Possessing a present (when applicable, there are only two that I believe can be possessed) means that other Witches in the lobby will not be able to transform into it any longer. So please be courteous to others and don't possess them, even if you technically can.

This guide should detail which map variants you need for each gift (it'll tell you what you can look for to know if you're on the right variant or not), and a decent walkthrough of how to locate the present as a Witch. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comments section. If anything seems unclear, let me know and I'll do my best to clarify it in the guide.

Snowbreeze (4)

4 presents total.
- 1 Red
- 2 Purple
- 1 Green

Red Patterned Present

(Map Variant: A ladder next to Witches' spawn, a large snowman at the bottom of the hill, and a springboard just a little way up the hill.)
This present is rather easy to find; it will be lying at the base of the tree, in plain view.
It'll be the only present by the tree that is red, with a white pattern around the lower-half and a green ribbon/bow.

Purple Present #1

(Map Variant: A string of empty Merchant Carts lining the road going down the hill from Witches' spawn.)
Face toward the bottom of the hill, take the road on your left and enter the first door on your right. When you enter the building you should see a staircase on your left, and a XMas tree on your right with two beds next to it. The Purple Present is under the first bed, in plain sight; you can reach the gift with a standard Transform spell from the door you just entered, and you can get line-of-sight by crouching.
Crouching from a short distance away is much easier than trying to move the bed.

Purple Present #2 (Fly Spell)

(Map Variant: A large ramp can be seen just down the hill from Witches' spawn.)
Head down to the ramp. When looking up toward the top of the ramp, you should see two towers in front of you. The present is *inside* the tower on the left, at the very top. The highest portion of the tower is outside of the boundary of the map, so you'll need to fly to reach the gift or climb on others who are also going for it.
*I highly recommend you bring the Fly movement spell, rather than Possess.

Green Present

(Map Variant: Several Merchant Stalls full of wooden logs at the bottom of the hill from Witches' Spawn.)
This present is very easy to reach. Head for the outdoor XMas Tree, and the Green Present is stuck in the branches of a bare tree just outside the map boundary. You should be able to reach it with a standard Transform spell from either of the two nearby rooftops.

The Chummy Potato (2)

2 presents total.
- 1 Red
- 1 Purple

Red Patterned Present

(Map Variant: A giant pumpkin with a "#1" prize ribbon on it next to Witches' Spawn.)
The present on this variant is located in the wall in Hunters' Spawn, but can be reached by Witches from the alley just outside Hunter Spawn.
Via the Alley: When you reach the door to the Hunters' Spawn, instead turn left. When you reach the end of the alley, turn right and aim into the wall and upward a little.
Via the Hunters' Spawn: Located on the 2nd floor, behind the boarded-up door.

Purple Present

(Map Variant: A large arch made of hay bales near Witches' Spawn.)
Head toward the corner of the map (back-left corner, if you stand under the hay arch and face the well). When you get there, look up at the tree's leaves. You should see the Purple Present poking out just a little bit... even if you don't just aim into the leaves.

Grunewald Library (1)

1 present total.
- 1 Green

Green Present

(Map Variant: Benches are located around the Witches' Spawn; the dining hall should appear mostly-empty, at least compared to the other prop-variants on this map.)
This present is located on the first floor of the Grunewald Library, inside the floor of the hallway that lies between the Dining Hall and the Main Library... it's directly under the chandelier in that hallway. It can be reached with a standard Transform spell from a decent distance to either direction, but your aim needs to be fairly precise.

Morgenstund (1)

1 present total.
- 1 Green

Green Present

(Map Variant: The House prop should be present.)
This present is very easy to reach, but relatively difficult to locate without help. It's hidden outside the boundaries of the map, in the smoke from one of the chimneys. See the image above for directions to which chimney.

Sleeping Rose Cemetery (1)

1 present total.
- 1 Purple

Purple Present

(Map Variant: The church will be full of pews/benches; you can use the Tab key to explore the map and check this before you ready up, if you prefer to know ahead of time.)
Relatively straight-forward... if the pews are in the church, the present is underneath the altar. Aim into the ground and transform into it! You can also reach it from the stairwell that leads down to the caves, or from the first level of caves (where there is a hole in the ground that leads lower).

Fiskersted (3)

3 presents total.
- 1 Red
- 1 Purple
- 1 Green

Red Patterned Present

(Map Variant: A springboard is located by the lamp post that is between the XMas tree and the chimney-building.)
This present very easy to acquire; when on the correct prop variant for this map, the Red Patterned Present is located inside of the XMas tree. Not underneath it with the other gifts, but rather inside the trunk of the tree itself.

Purple Present

(Map Variant: Three barrels and a harpoon next to the lamp post that is between the XMas tree and the chimney-building.)
Climb up onto the building. The Purple Present is hidden inside of the chimney.

Green Present

(Map Variant: A lonely, empty sled is a little off to the side of the lamp post that is between the XMas Tree and the chimney-house. This variant will also have the Snow-covered House prop near the Withces' Spawn, thought the Snow-covered House is not pictured above due to the edited frames covering it.)
This present is slightly tricky. Climb up the frozen monster and jump down its throat. When you get to the bottom, make a U-turn to your left, and head down the passageway. When you reach a fish skeleton on the ground, turn right and look into the wall/floor. You'll need to look down at an angle into the wall to spot this Green Present. See the image above.

Kula Kula Islands (1)

1 present total.
- 1 Purple

Purple Present

(Map Variant: Numerous purple candles will be around the Witches' Spawn, and a lone rowboat will be next to the far campfire, near the Hunters' Spawn. Bones will also be by the closer campfire that is down the cliff under Witches' Spawn.)
Immediately drop down the cliff to the right of the portal next to you, at Witches' Spawn. Don't take the portal, make sure you fall down to the beach below. Head over to the campfire, and aim into the rock cliff.
Personally, I think it's easiest if you use the shoreline as your guide... use your mouse to trace where the water and the sand meet, and follow that line into the rock-face. If that doesn't work or sound too confusing, just use the image above and fudge it a little.

Rewards

- Collecting all 3 of the Patterned Presents gets you:
(Achievement) All You Ever Wished For
3 sweater skins for the Hunter



- Collecting all 4 of the Green Presents gets you:
(Achievement) I Came Here From The Forest
5 skins for the Hunter: a head, a hat, a shirt, a pair of pants, and a melee.



- Collecting all 5 of the Purple Presents gets you:
(Achievement) Cute And Diligent
7 skins for the Witch: 2 heads, 2 hats, 2 shirts, and a skin color.

Credits

Finding these presents was a group effort by the entire Witch It community. There were many people playing the game for hours on end, day after day, hunting for these presents (I know, because I was one of them and I kept seeing them in lobbies :D); when someone found one, they shared it with others in-game, and the information was then shared on the Steam forums and the official Discord.

I'd personally like to give special thanks to the following people:
- DesertMoonGW - for starting the Steam thread, keeping it updated, as well as being one of the people I kept seeing in countless games during this time.
- Jusper0110, AngelicFeather, krautsalat, and their crew - for being super awesome. And speaking German a lot in Discord.
- Mondai - for being my tag-team partner during the whole event. We played a loooooooot of Witch It, sometimes in custom lobbies in order to scour entire maps, and sometimes in official lobbies in order to try to collect the props/presents we had found.

@ZalMan - you are correct, the achievements were removed since Christmas 2017. I believe that the items are still obtainable, but only via the crafting system or trading. But yeah, if the presents are still located in the maps (the special versions of the maps during the Christmas event), they won't trigger any achievements or rewards anymore.
