EMD GP9 - Nickel Plate Road

Description
This mod adds an EMD GP9 with New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad ('Nickel Plate Road') livery.

The EMD GP9 is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in the United States, and General Motors Diesel in Canada between January 1954 and August 1963. The GP9 series found enormous success and became one of the most successful diesel locomotives ever built.

The New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad ('Nickel Plate Road') operated in the mid-central United States. The nickname 'Nickel Plate Road' is believed to have derived from an article in the Norwalk, Ohio, Chronicle of March 10, 1881 during an era when many were trying to entice the railroad to build a line through their town. The railroad adopted the name, often displaying it more prominately than the official name.

On October 16, 1964, the railroad merged with the Norfolk & Western.

Technical Details:
- Max Speed: 65 mph (105 kph)
- Power: 1,740 horsepower (1,300 kW)
- Tractive Effort: 64,750 lbf (288 kN)
- Availability: 1955-1964
- Cost: (determined by game)

Notes:
- This mod adds new vehicles to the game without altering anything currently existing in the game.
- This is a repaint of Urban Games EMD GP9. Without model rework, there are some inaccuracies.

Known Issues:
- The in-cab camera points backwards. This is to do with original model being oriented long hood forward.
- The multi-unit icon shows everything on 2nd unit backwards, including logos and wording. This is because game is using only one icon image and flipping it for the 2nd unit.
- Adding a custom color to unit may look strange. This is because custom colors are not intended, yet that feature wasn't disabled in this mod.

Dislaimer:
Use this mod at your own risk. I accept no responsibility for damages to software or hardware.

I'd like to see more NKP mods. such as, streamlined coaches, pullman and business coaches, mail/baggage cars, SW1 and other switchers, cabooses (bay window and standard), box cars, tank cars, hoppers, stock cars, flat beds, trucks, the NKP Heritage unit, and other locomotives like the F7. I've worked for the NKP heritage railroad for years and it is awesome to see it being brought back to life on my computer, so if any of these ideas interest you i can surely help with information.
