Alien Frontiers (Tragic Edition)

Description
G'Day Tragic here....

This is my version of Alien Frontiers. There are already a few versions of this on the workshop and it is also available in Vassal and stuff, but I wanted to make my own version. What initially started as a simple "component scan upgrade" turned into a test bed for ideas I want to put into other mods.

Basically I am planning to start uploading some of my own game prototypes and what to try and work out how to get as much automation as possible, to encourage people to play it who normally wouldn't as they will be unknown games.

So this quick fix, ended up being a major mod with my my complex scripting attempts to date. I hope it all works out once it is in the wild.

Have Fun and ROLL HIGH

A Note on Agenda Cards

You may only have 2 face down agenda cards at any time (unless you have a card that breaks this rule). It is open information how many Agenda Cards you have and what Alien Tech Cards are in your hand. Due to how TTS works it is not possible to have two hands zone, one hidden and one not.

So the Agenda Cards are delt into a FACE DOWN DECK on your player board. You simply flip them up and place them on the board to score them

the best way to "look" at your own agenda cards is to simply RIGHT CLICK on the deck and select SEARCH.

How do I use this mod

Please see the VIDEO TUTORIAL, it should answer all your needs.

Basically, do not press the SETUP BUTTON until you have all players seated. This means for SOLO play you MUST use the new HOTSEAT function. You will also need to have the scripting set to automatically start. This is on by default, and unless you have switched it off, you will not have to worry about this.

Keep Alien Tech Cards in your hand and play them into the player board strip as you use them. They will automatically untap when you roll your die.

The die roller will fetch all die you have available to roll but only from valid docks. If you have a card that stops die from getting rolled then simply place that die outside of a standard dock and the roller will not pick it up. There are die bags above the VP track with more die as you buy new ships.

To roll the ALIEN SHIP die, you simply flip over the control card to show the TICKED face. Now the Alien Die will be drawn and rolled. Just flip it to hide the green tick if you no longer have an active Alien Relic die.

The VP Boards count all the VPs for you and also move the VP marker on the track. Just place the Location Cards on the VP Counting Board, along with any face up Agenda, Outer Belt or Alien Tech Cards. Also colonies placed on the planet and moon are counted.

Again, please watch the YouTube video for more detailed explanations.

Special Thanks

Big thank you as always to the guys at the Beserk Forums for all their help. Particularly OneLivesLeft and dzikakulka, as well as Cryptosia on steam.

Also thank you to Shanky would provided the excelent main game board scan.

Though Mr Stump as always was a HUGE help and this mod would simply not exist without him.

Also, I took 1 Art Asset form Vii's Alien Frontiers Mod.. the R.E.V token. (Vii's Alien Frontiers Mod @SteamWorkshop

This is a truly great game from "Game Salute" by Tory Niemann. They even recently released a new "master version" with all expansions and promos in a single big box. I strongly recommend this game and like all Die Chuckers, TTS is a fun way to play online, but dose not come close to the experience on the physical table.

Please note that I have never played ALien Frontiers, but it looks quite interesting.

It seems the unintended Alien Artifact replenishing can simply be resolved by removing below two lines

local obj = getObjectFromGUID('851e16')
obj.call('ReplenishOffer')

from mana roller -> fetchDice() function.

However, during replenish, the previous set of cards is not removed.
Also the Asteroid cards don't seem to cycle, but get completely replaced, then the first card gets an addtional one placed on top of it.

Very well done!!! thank you!

Fantastic mod! Been a fan of AF for many years. And, no, it should not replenish all 3 cards after every die roll. (Would be great to fix this... seems it's part of a die roll script, and just needs to be removed) A workaround I've found is to create your own row of 3 cards from the initial offering, and even though it refreshes every die roll just manage the row of 3 cards manually.

This is what I've found in the rule book about when to draw new Alien Tech..

Page 7
To claim one of the alien tech cards on display you need to have docked ships with a total value of more than 7. Replace the claimed card with
one from the draw pile.

Page 13
If the alien tech draw deck is exhausted, reshuffle the discards to create a new draw deck.

Hi Tragic, I'm also learning TTS modding.
Maybe we can do it together, let me know.

been a while from last I looked. Isn't the rule that the offer should slide every turn. So when you roll the bottom card goes to the bottom of the deck and the rest slide down. I made it so that happens on every roll as you buy after rolling. I forget though as it has been so long. I keep meaning to redo this mod as Im a lot better at modding now.

Thanks to Tragic for the nice mod.

Mod works great but this Will fix the Roll-Dice-Button card shuffle issue.
This also fixed the Cycle and Refresh Offer.

Issue:
The script zone for the Alien Tech card are not at the right height.

This is how to fix it:
Move the cards away so you can adjust the height of the script zone
Go to Zone, Script Zone (so you can see it)
Go to Gizmo, Move and click on the script zone for the Alien Tech
Set the Transform, Position, Y: to 3.05

Note: to modify the mod first you need to create your own save file.

Very impressive mod! But I have a problem: Whenever I press the Roll-Dice-button, three new Alien-Tech-Cards are dealt. Is this correct? This doesn't happen in your video. THX!
