Using the "Voice Analyser"

Voice Analyser
So, this tool records audio from a phone call, analyses it, and then reproduces the voice phrase needed to unlock the system you're hacking. Of course, this is a game, and so it doesn't actually place a phone call or record audio if you hadn't guessed.

Using this is easy, but it is not obvious!

  • Step 1: Figure out who to call. I needed to hack a bank, so connect to the bank and use the "About Us" button to get a phone number for the administrator. Store that with the + button.
  • Step 2: Disconnect from the bank and launch the Voice Analyser.
  • Step 3: Using the new address/phone number from your Main Screen, Call the administrator by connecting to the new server in your list. It'll be the phone number of the administrator that you stored in Step 1.
  • Step 4: The Analyser should kick in automatically, recording and processing the voice.
  • Step 5: Reconnect to the bank and access Admin, and Voice Print Identification.
  • Step 6: Press play on the Analyser.
  • Step 7: GO hack, because they're already tracking you now.

Also of note is the difference between version 1 and version 2 of the Analiser: Version 1 is a one-off program, where as version 2 gives the ability to store voice prints for later use. I've not mucked about with version 2, but here's what my commenters had to say about it:

Version 2 of the Voice Print Analyser works much the same as Version 1, except that, should you wish to save a voice print, so you can close the process and come back to it at some point later, you can drag from the graph window inside the analyser to storage. Later, when you want to use this file again, drage the Analyser window on to the file you want to use, so you don't have to phone your target again. (This sounds like its backwards, but like I said, I haven't played with V2, so hearsay. If it doesn't load the file that way, try dragging the file onto the Analyser window.)

Thanks a bunch, didn't know where to find voices/phone numbers and most likely wouldn't have thought of clicking on the + if I had accidentally bumped into it. So happy there's a simple little guide for it. :D

Vash, thanks for the heads up! I guess that isn't obvious if you haven't done it before, but when you press the "+" button next to the administrator's phone number, it'll be added to your server list.
You'll just connect to it directly, as if you were connecting to a server. Don't bother with hops, you won't be traced.

Can someone tell me how to make phone calls?this guide doesnt tell you at all.I have the number but there is nothing anywhere in the game to click to make a call

To any others who may read this wondering where else phone numbers are located, be sure to check out Public Access Servers, with the exception of Uplink's.

The admin voice for the company and bank are the same, so have no fear!

Note that you need Voice Analyzer v2 to be able to save/load recordings to/from your memory banks. v1 lacks this feature, and once you close its window, the voice recording is lost.

Thanks so much, Awesome Sauce. I was wondering how to save recordings, it was a pain having to reconnect to the VoIP system anytime I messed up after closing the analyzer.

Save a Voice Analyser recording to your Memory
Once you have recorded a voice, you can drag it over to your Memory and save the voice recording as a 1Gq file. Launch a new Voice Analyser program and while dragging the window with the mouse, hover over your voice recording file in your Memory to retreive the voice recording.
