Setting up Task Force Radio (Steam Workshop)

How to set up the Steam Workshop version of TFAR, for both players and TS server owners.

Prerequisites

Everyone:

• Install TeamSpeak client[www.teamspeak.com]

TeamSpeak server host only:

If you're not hosting the TeamSpeak server, skip this section.

• Install TeamSpeak server software[www.teamspeak.com]
  
• Run the server software and connect through the client using the address "localhost"
  
• Right click on the name of the server -> select Edit Virtual Server -> select Anti-Flood, set all "Points needed to..." values to 99999. This prevents TFAR from activating the server anti-flood and causing problems for clients.
  
• Forward UDP port 9987 for the server software and provide players with your public IP address so they can connect.

(Note: the Arma 3 server host does not necessarily need to also host the TeamSpeak server, this can be someone else if required)

Installation

Everyone:

• Subscribe to Task Force Radio here. Wait for it to download and install.
  
• Enable 'show hidden files' in Windows Explorer [support.microsoft.com]
  
• Install the TeamSpeak plugin by navigating to your Arma install directory, entering the !Workshop\@task_force_radio\teamspeak directory and running:
  
  task_force_radio_3.1Compat (for TeamSpeak 3.1x or higher)
  
  or
  
  task_force_radio (older versions)

TeamSpeak server host only:

If you're not hosting the TeamSpeak server, ignore this section.

• Create a Channel in your Server named "TaskForceRadio" with the password "123"

Usage

Everyone:

• Start/restart TeamSpeak, and connect to your group's TeamSpeak server using the IP address provided by the server host.
  
• Start/restart Arma 3 with the task_force_radio and CBA_A3 mods activated
  
• Once you enter a game in Arma, you should be moved automatically to the TaskForceRadio Channel in the TeamSpeak server. Otherwise, move to to that channel manually and enter the password "123"
  
• You should then be able to hear players who are close to you. Learn how to use the radio here[radio.task-force.ru]

It’s a cool mod except that Teamspeak pipes audio to headphones regardless of which “PRC channel” to which the radio is tuned. We’ve worked for days to eliminate this without success.

Shame that even though I don't use teamspeak and play typically by myself or with one other person I have to install a pretty pointless application and jump through some hoops just to use one other mod.
