Getting proper widescreen in Serious Sam 2

This guide shows you how to get proper widescreen in Serious Sam 2.

Installing the widescreen fixes

Before starting the game up, you need to install a mod that'll increase the weapon and third person FOV so that they look good in widescreen mode.Otherwise, your weapons will be too close to the screen and the camera will be way too close to you in third-person mode.

Download the mod at {LINK REMOVED}http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6t3y7bk26h8su0i (made by Finzy, not me), When you've downloaded it, unzip it and open the folder. Open the folders in it until you see two folders; DeathmatchPro and SeriousSam2. Copy the SeriousSam2 folder.

Now, you'll need to go to your Serious Sam 2 folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Serious Sam 2. When you're there, look for the Content folder and click on it. Now, you'll see a series of folders. Paste the folder you copied earlier. You'll get a message about merging folders. Let it merge the folder you pasted with the one already there.

The fixes are now installed.

Setting your resolution

Now, start the game. Go to Options, then click on “video options”. From there you'll find the option to set your resolution. Select your native resolution, then look for the “widescreen” option. Turn it on. After doing this, you're done!

If you followed all of the steps, your game should look like this.

Bugs

Despite these fixes, there's one bug related to widescreen that can't be fixed. When you're in the snow-themed levels, the “cold” overlay that appears when your body temperature meter gets high will not stretch across the screen. There is no way to fix this.

It's not full on fulscreen. None of the screen effects seem to be made 16.9

I have my resolution at 1440x900 and have not noticed anything wrong with it. Maybe they've made a patch to fix this.

It' not just the snow level,it's blood spray too. The hud is too narrow.
