Borderlands Simple FPS Fix

Have you been scratching your head as to why you've been getting less than optimal performance on your high end rig while playing a game from 2009? The answer is actually in plain sight

The Fix

The fix is actually rather simple. No need to do any .ini tweaks or anything crazy. Just disable Dynamic Shadows from the in game Audio & Video options. The dynamic shadows are very unoptimized and can seriously hurt performance on even high end rigs. You'll get much better performance at the cost of flat shadow textures and no character shadows.

For NVIDIA users:
1) Download Nvidia Profile Inspector
2) Find Borderlands 1 profile
3) Disable AA (it's set to 4x4 hyper anti-aliasing holy cow)
4) Enjoy your FPS back
5) Rock 'n' roll
