Headless Horseless Horsemann Tank Soundpack

Description
I made this a few years back. Originally it was just a test run for a TF2 Sniper soundpack I was going to make for Ellis, but the work is honestly not worth it. It was a fight just making the damned thing work, and besides that I ended up moving away from Left 4 Dead 2.

This mod does not include a HHH model replacement for the Tank, but you can find one here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=204422096

Please forgive me using a TF2 achievement icon as the picture. I'm not about to spend 30 minutes googling and splicing ♥♥♥♥ together for this thing. There should be no static whatsoever in any of the files, and everything should work. The .vpk system is a pain in the ass, but if there's a break in it somewhere I'll see what I can do. Don't expect miracles, because I don't even remember how to argue with the .vpk system.

I don't have a video of the completed pack, but rest assured there is NO static in the files like there are in the videos.

Sorry man, I've gotten so far away from L4D2 it's not even funny. Hell, I don't even play TF2 anymore. I would have to reinstall L4D2 and the authoring tools. That probably wouldn't be a hard mod to do yourself thoug, the biggest problem would be syncing the times of the sound files together.

@Jinx Cat would you kindly add the HHH's music as well? That'd be cool.

If it doesn't function without the sound.cache file, the only way to go about it is to combine the mods for your personal use, which requires decompiling both mods, deleting their sound.cache files, putting the folders together, and generating a new sound.cache from ingame. I don't remember how to do that, but it's on the Source SDK wiki.

Go to your L4D2 addon folder, copy out the .vpk, unsub from my addon to be safe, uncompile the .vpk by dragging it on to vpk.exe from the authoring tools, - I give you permission to uncompile my .vpk to check the sound.cache issue - move the sound.cache file out, recompile the .vpk by dragging the folder back onto vpk.exe, put it into your addons folder, and then activate it in the addons list and load up a map. I suggest spawning a tank via console commands for ease of testing. Also either turn down your volume or have your headset off your ears when you do this, because it -might- cause static.

OH GOD I HAD AN ENTIRE THING AND IT DIDN'T COPY TO MY CLIPBOARD. Okay, let's try again, hold on...

It's been a while, but let me see if I can remember exactly: A sound cache file is generated via console commands to let the game know it has different sounds it needs to load. The cache file itself is tiny, and basically just a directory for the game. As for why it's conflicting, I'm pretty sure the sound.cache file is supposed to be in the root /sound folder to work. I'm not sure if either mod will work properly without a .cache file directing the game. I don't have L4D2 installed to check, but you can try it yourself.
