CSRG M1915

The most widely produced and issued automatic weapon of the First World War, a combination of rushed and poor manufacture by Gladiator and bad magazine design caused the weapon to frequently jam in muddy conditions, which coupled with it's tendency to lock closed when overheated led to it being unpopular among French and US troops. Most of it's bad reputation however was due to the incredibly poor .30-06 conversion made for the US Expeditionary Corps. Chauchats produced by SIDARME were of good quality and the weapon remained in use in Belgium and Poland during the interwar period and in several other countries afterwards.

Name: Chauchat-Sutter-Ribeyrolles-Gladiator Mle 1915

Manufacturer: Gladiator, SIDARME
Class: light machine gun
Caliber: 8x50mmR Lebel
Action: fully automatic, ~240 RPM
Ammunition type: detachable box magazine
Ammunition capacity: 20-round detachable box magazine (due to a design flaw, fully loading a magazine usually caused the weapon to jam and most magazines were loaded only with 19 rounds for this reason)
weight: ~9.07 Kg

Ribeyrolles M1918 Machine Carbine

An automatic rifle developed for the French Army during WW1, the Ribeyrolles was the first weapon to be built with a purpose-built intermediate cartridge, itself created from the .351 Winchester rounds used in the Winchester M1907 rifle, which was popular with French troops. The weapon could mount Berthier-style bayonets and featured a built-in bipod so it could be used as a squad support weapon.
Despite being one of the very first weapons to fit the definition of an Assault Rifle, the Ribeyrolles only saw limited use during WW1 and shortly afterwards.

Name: Ribeyrolles M1918 Machine Carbine

Manufacturer: French Army factories (presumably)
Class: carbine/assault rifle/light machine gun hybrid weapon
Caliber: 8x35mmSR Ribeyrolles
Action: fully automatic, 550-600 RPM
Ammunition type: detachable box magazine
Ammunition capacity: 25-round detachable box magazine
weight: ~5.2 Kg

Please report any bugs you find.

Just about every OTHER automatic gun during that time was just as prone to jamming in the same environment, give or take some.

Problem is Gladiator made most of them.

gladiator was horrible from day 1 manufacturing these that i already knew i too have done extensive research of these (btw i wasnt trying to go against your opinion i was just making sure everyone leaves shitpost comments about the gun knows what they should be talking about before opening their big mouths saying 'its the worst lmg ever' when the breda modello 30 LMG from Italy durring WWII deserves that title indefinitely and accurately so. SIDARME was the better quality of parts for making these guns and rightfully so and people should buy the SIDARME variants of the chauchats rather than the gladiator ones.

Except I went out of my way to mention the Chauchat was not that bad as a design, minus the magazine. The bad reputation of the Chauchat mostly comes from the incredibly bad manufacture quality at Gladiator. Especially since they borked the measurements on the American versions.
A Chauchat made by literally anyone but Gladiator will work fine as long as you do not fully load the magazine and keep it away from dirt.

i just hate it when the media will shit on the chauchat constantly when its the reputation is mostly undeserved and the eviorment gave it conditons it was never ment to handle because lets be honest, who sticks their gun in mud constantly then fire it in war? no one its only if you have to crawl through the mud ffs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfUJalo1u2c i love how this disprooves most theories about the american .30-06 Chauchat i can understand the enviorment wasnt perfect or suited towards the guns but thats about it if your doing it where hes at it when you have one thats in good condition then thats gonna work pretty well he dumps 100+ .30-06 rounds through that before thers a type of 'malfunction' and its not one of the ones the media usually tells you about them having often its a COMPLETELY differnet one at that just watch to see.
