Magical Items

This mod adds five magical items into the game: Stormblade, Focusing Gloves, Hood of Knowledge, and the Ring of Absorbtion. They are located in Dragonsreach on the table by the alchemy lab.

Stormblade is essentially an Akaviri katana with an enchantment that focuses on shocking and absorbing enemies' magicka, but swings faster and farther than other one-handed weapons.

The Focusing Gloves have a custom enchantment on them to make all spells stronger. In my playthoughs as a mage I was annoyed at the fact that there were no special gloves for mages, so I figured this would be the most fitting effect.

The Hood of Knowledge increases all magic skill by 10 levels (great for low-level characters) and raises max magicka by 50 points. I have also placed a hoodless version of the archmages robes in the archmage quarters so that the hood can be worn with it

The Ring of Absorbtion absorbs magicka from all enemies within 100 feet. Maximum absorb rate is 5 points per second per NPC. Less is absorbed the farther away enemies are.

The Staff of Chaos was inspired by the enchantment in the Dragonborn DLC (DLC NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS MOD!) and does fire, ice, and shock damage simultaneously while also disarming enemies and slowing them down

I'm planning on making a questline to find them as a continuation of the College of Winterhold storyline, so keep an eye out for updates. Just a heads up, though once that is done you will have to finish the quests to get everything, unless everyone really wants to also have everything crammed in a chest in Breezehome or Dragonsreach. It'll be a while before that's up though, since I'm just getting started.


COMMON ISSUES:

PROBLEM: hands look disconnected from body when wearing the gloves
SOLUTION: I'm sorry, but there is nothing I can do about the textures. I haven't changed anything in that regard, just used Bethesda's model for the Psijic Gloves

PROBLEM: Items not appearing in Dragonsreach
SOLUTION: In all the cases the I have dealt with this the player started up the game right after downloading the mod. Usually Skyrim sometimes takes a large amount of time to recognize mod files and put them in the game, regardless of file size. To check to see if this is what happened, startup the desktop menu for Skyrim (before going to full scree) and select "Data Files". If this mod cannont be found in the list, then come back later to check.


LATEST FIXES:

- Added Staff of Chaos
- fixed aura for ring so it doesn't look like you are getting your magic sapped as well
- Added Psijic versions of the armor and hood (except the gloves, since they are already Psijic). Located in trunk.
