[Advanced Techniques & Tricks] Bow Kick Cancel, Instant Tackle, Backwards and Sideways Drop Kicking, Sliding and More
By Blade Master
Hello.

This guide will cover some of the known advanced tricks and techniques that are not widely known, such as backwards drop kicking, sliding, bow rapid fire and etc.

Note: Using side / backwards sliding and drop kicking is not recommended in BtZ due to balancing. Please do not use it in invasions.

I hope it'll be useful, have fun!

What are these moves?

Basically, these are what you can call advanced drop kicking and sliding parkour moves that very little number of people know about. These moves aren't taught to you anywhere in-game. You can only discover these by accidentally performing and learning it yourself, or someone else showing and teaching you.

You've most likely learned how to drop kick and slide by now.

I will be showing and explaining how to drop kick left, drop kick right, drop kick backwards and slide backwards.

Do I need to install mod or alter game files in any way?

No. They're inside the base game, you do not need to install any mods or download anything. The only thing you have to do is enable Toggle Crouch and Sprint Toggle options, read below for more info.

Where can I use these moves and how?

They can be used anywhere as long as the character you're playing with has Drop Kick and Slide skills unlocked. As of how to exactly perform it, see the sections below.

I can't perform these moves, what am I doing wrong?

As long as you meet the requirements explained in section below, i.e you have Drop Kick & Slide unlocked, as well as enabled Toggle Crouch and Sprint Toggle, then you're doing nothing wrong. They're simply difficult and require practice, keep on trying and you'll definitely perform it.
Requirements
All you need is Drop Kick and Slide skills unlocked.

Also, I greatly recommend enabling both Toggle Crouch and Sprint Toggle options. These can can be found in your Menu > Settings > Controls > Key Bindings.

Another thing I recommend is setting your Crouch key to Ctrl, I haven't tested how these moves work with C(Default), but I believe there shouldn't be any issues.

Also, I'll be assuming that you use default W A S and D.

W = Move Forward
A = Move Left
S = Move Backwards
D = Move Right

Now you're set, continue reading below to actually see how to perform these moves.
How to Perform Right Drop Kick

What to do.

Hold Sprint, dodge right then quickly press W and E. Make sure that W is pressed a bit slightly faster than E, otherwise you'll kick and fail momentum.

The order of buttons are:
Sprint(Must always be in hold),
D + Space(Dodge rightwards),
Followed by W + E.
Sprint key must be held all the time while executing these steps.

Small notes:

Press E instantly right after you press W. The longer you surf towards the direction you drop kicked depends on how fast you press E and how well you time it while you're in dodging animation. If you press W and E quickly, you'll surf faster and cover longer distance. You must press W + E immediately after you dodge.

The trick is to time a dropkick during the dodge animation.

Note: You must keep holding the Sprint button until you execute all the keys and perform a drop kick. This applies to all the Left/Right/Backwards moves.
How to Perform Left Drop Kick
The left drop kicking is exactly same as right drop kick explained above, except that you dodge left, therefore you use A key instead of D.
How to Perform Backwards Drop Kick
The backwards kicking is also same as right drop kicks explained above, except that you dodge back, therefore you use S key instead of A or D.
How to Perform the Backwards Sliding

Again, hold on the Sprint button. Dodge backwards, quickly press W(Hold on it), you can now release the Sprint if it's convenient for you, followed by pressing Crouch.

The order of buttons are:
Sprint(Hold for now),
S + Space(Dodge backwards),
W(Hold),
Crouch.
Left and Rightwards slide
These are basically same as backwards slide, but you instead use A for left or D for right.
Instant Tackle (Human)
This is basically tackle, however normally when you tackle you're forced to keep your arms up a bit longer than you want while running towards, this is slower and it may get you into horde of zombies without your will.

Instant tackle, is instant. You don't need to continue running or keep your arms up after tackling zombie.

Here are video comparison, normal tackle at left side and instant tackle at right side.

How it's done. When you initiate tackle, immediately stop holding the Forward (W by default) and Tackle (E by default) buttons. In other words, once you press Tackle button, let go of it immediately along with Forward button. You can keep on holding the sprint button if you want.

Instant tackle in action:

Note, the closer you are to the zombie, the better it'll work.
Bow Rapid Fire / Kick Cancel
This trick allows faster firing with the bows. Normally, after shooting arrow you have to wait for animation to finish until you're able to pull the arrow again, this trick, allows you to cancel that animation which you're stuck after shooting arrow, by kicking, meanwhile you're in kicking animation, you're instantly able to pull the arrow, right after kicking animation is over, you're able to instantly fire fully charged arrow.

Basically what you want to do is kick after firing arrow, and immediately start holding on attack (LMB by default), after kicking animation is over, you'll see charged bow already, fire and repeat.

Little demonstration below.

Cancel Drop Kick
This one is the easiest, basically all you have to do is, right after you perform drop kick, use your grappling hook. It is also possible to cancel drop kick by using shield.

Normal drop kick at the left, cancellation at the right.

Notes:

If you use grapple, you need to crouch quickly afterwards in order to cancel grappling hook.
Grapple may not work if there is nothing in front of you to launch grappling hook at, shield is more reliable.
Notes
The sliding is useful for keeping or even stacking the parkour boost buff while holding the Kuai Dagger.

Kuai Dagger is weapon which was added in

Be The Zombie (Invasions)
I would not recommend using some of these moves in invasions against the Night Hunter, such as sliding and drop kicking, please avoid using it in invasions.

The purpose of this guide is to show you something that you can do which most people don't know about. For fun and entertainment purposes only, and not to gain any kind of advantage over other players.

Throw two handed weapon, this should be 1 hit kill if it's 1 vs 1.

I don't actually remember how many teammates it takes to be in game until hunter doesn't get 1 hit killed from single thrown two handed weapon.
